Brene Brown: The Power of Vulnerability
Ganttic overview
General: -only available online (not including phone or tablets) online on computers.
Shortcomings: Doesn’t do well with smaller tasks (like my job, and calling a lot of people a day) works extremely well for large projects that take a lot of time and preparation. I could see it working well for jobs that have larger tasks.
Who should use Ganttic and why?
Ganttic is a tool for scheduling companies resources- staff members, vehicles, equipment and production lines and facilities. It has unique features to group your everyday tasks by projects or resource groups. This feature enables you to get a visual overview about what has happened in your company, whats in the progress right now and what your near future looks like.
Setting user rights
There are 3 types of user rights in Ganttic:
1. Administrator. Has all the rights to create, modify or delete anything
2. Limited User. Can’t add, modify or add other users. Modifying own user data such as name, password, contact data is still possible. Administrator can set user rights for limited users by resource groups. The administrator can also grant limited user to manage projects.
3. Viewer: This guy has practically no rights. All he/she can do is see other peoples work and print out reports.
Creating new tasks:
There are two ways of adding new tasks. Easiest is to move your cursor on the plan area in the desired resource row and click on the start time of your task. Then, holding down your left mouse button, drag the cursor from left to right until reaching to the end of your task. Then release the mouse button. A pop-up window will appear. There you can choose a project from drop down menu and fine tune the start and end time.
Color coding your plan
As Ganttic is all about visual planning, they aim to make for you by being able to get the big picture and the easiest way of doing that is color coding projects.
What is it not?
Ganttic is not an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system. ERP systems include much more functionality like sales, purchases, inventory systems, accounting and so on. Ganttic does just scheduling. It is not a complex project management software although it has good project management capabilities.

I agree with viewpoint five by Andrew Keen to an extent. It’s true, our media and our “art” has been polluted with a lot of things that are not even worthy skimming across. There is a plethora of people’s opinions and a plenty of peoples so called ‘art” or vision that are trying to make it in the world. Bottom line, there is a lot of junk out on the internet but at this point there’s nothing we can do about it. It has to do with freedom of speech; the only thing we can and will have to do is sort through all the junk to hopefully a few jewels hiding behind all the nonsense.
Viewpoint 6 by Kevin Kelly makes a valid point in which I agree with also, he says “. “it is clear that a tiny fort of book lovers cannot stop the oceanic change swamping the analog world. And I am enthusiastic about digital technology simply because I believe that in the end writers, readers, and publishers will gain more from the change than they lose.” At least people are being creative and not just sitting around doing nothing. Normal people having these tools to make their vision come true I think is a great thing. Sure there will be mostly garbage circling the web, but with that will also come with some truly great ideas in which no one has thought of before.

Apple computers hacked in similar attack that also hit Facebook
Reuters: Apple announced Tuesday that its computers were hacked in a similar style attack to the one that targeted Facebook last week Only a small number of employee computers were breached and no user information was stolen, Apple said. Facebook revealed Friday that it was the target of a sophisticated attack traced to China. Apple is working with law enforcement officials to track down the culprits behind the hack.
