āCats donāt actually love youā
A cat is a small creature in the middle of the food chain that is fully aware that you are a very large thing that could stomp its head in at any moment and yet it chooses to rest its tiny little head on your leg for a nap and spreads out on the floor near you exposing its belly and its most sensitive organs. It brings dead mice and bugs to you to share food.
Donāt you get it? This tiny thing trusts you. It wants to help you too. It licks your leg thinking that itās helping. It kneads on you to find comfort. It shares its body warmth with you in the cold and gives you your space in the heat. It hisses at other mammals it sees outside including other cats in an effort to protect its family.
Cats love you so so much. But they will keep trying to eat plastic.
just how fast the night changes like 1D said
random anecdote for father's day: one time during a long car ride my dad asked me, "you're familiar with Murphy's Law, right?" and i was like "isn't that the one about how anything that can go wrong will go wrong?" and he said "yeah, exactly" and i said "why do you ask?" and he went "well, have you heard of Cole's Law?" and i said "no, actually, what's that?" and he said "it's mostly lettuce and carrots with a little dressing mixed in"
stevie nicks and lindsey buckinghamās new instagram posts, quoting their song āfrozen loveā from 1973
besties i can't do this anymore (hasn't done anything)
Not to sound like a fuckin hippie but please for the love of god start noticing and appreciating the natural world around you. You donāt have to go hike the entire Appalachian trail or anything and I get that not everyone has access to the outdoors for various reasons, but just fucking ⦠look around you when youāre outside. Notice the sky and the sun and the birds and creatures. Start caring about them. Iām begging you.
An NDP motion to address the increased cost of living expenses by slightly taxing banks, insurance companies, oil companies and big box stores has been defeated:

Conservatives voted against it. Liberals abstained. Bloc voted in support.
Liberals are spineless.

the liberal party once again:
and for the record- they knew the conservatives would vote this down. they knew that not voting meant this motion being defeated. they didnāt even stay in the middle on this one, they opted out and watched it fail. because voting against it would mean losing progressive voters, and voting for it would mean losing conservative voters.
donāt ever let anyone tell you that their centrist narrative is preferable to the right wing, because all it does is enable the conservatives to fuck over every last poor or otherwise marginalized person on this land, and they share the responsibility of doing that.
fuck the liberal party.
People will watch things like parasite and squid game, media that blatantly calls out capitalism and the effect that it has on the lower class and still come out of it like "wow I can't believe poor people are morally bad because they're poor and there's no other outside influence"
cannot stop thinking about how good the fabrication of consent in squid game was⦠like yeah, the participants consent! over and over, from agreeing to the slapping game to ringing up the number of their own accord to meeting at the location to signing a separate sheet once more upon arrival⦠they can even disband the game if the majority decrees it. but this is all performative. because of course theyāll agree - of course theyāll come back.
the second episode is even all about addressing this āconsentā, and that potential audience superiority: āso why donāt they just leave???? if they can??? why did they even do all this to start with?? itās so extreme, to do all that just for money, i would neverā
because, the show says, look at what theyāre returning to. look at the life thatās offered as their alternative. debt up to their ears, money-brokers beating them up, poverty at its worst. do you see? do you see how yeah, joining that game is optional, but itās optional in the sense of choosing to be stabbed or shot: theres consent, but not actual desire. that theres agreement, but under exploitation. thereās a reason only poor people are chosen to compete and itās so obvious but i fucking love how the show handles it and addresses any audience superiority anyway
The consequence of corporate greed
girls donāt have a dream job, they just want a coffee shop which is also a flower shop and a bookshop combined
