Hiatus w/ Sharing Builds

With all that is happening in the US, I have decided to pause on sharing builds with the community. I want to go back to using my game as a personal creative outlet, i.e. like the 20ish years before I joined the online space.

Now...

Just because I'm halting sharing builds, for the moment, does not mean that I won't touch my game. (lol) You will still see posts about progress on my save and my sims, etc. I barely put a dent into my word document for world transformations! So, If I decide to share again, I will have lots done already.

My Brindleton Bay References - Moodboard

Continuing the tradition of sharing my inspo photos after they have served me their purpose! ((lmao))

My goal was to transform Brindleton Bay into a historical landmark that has been restored/refreshed. Letting it be a world for sims to create formative moments throughout the seasons!

As per usual, the architecture is based on photos while the interiors served as inspo only. I feel like this makeover served as a bench mark for me getting better at building and I'm very really happy with my results!

Never, in my wildest dreams, would I have thought that I may have to fight the same fight as my grandparents -- the last of which passed away 11yrs ago. Both of my parents had JUST made the cut of not having to experience this country in the same dismay. As for my great grandparents, 3 of 4, were slaves. The fourth was not from this country and I have little to no knowledge about them aside from that.

With that being said, this is personal. This is NOT a safe space for anyone who voted and chose to blatantly ignore all of the hatred that has been spewed. Fuck you immensely! You chose to make life even more of a living hell for anyone who is not in physical proximity/likeness to you know who. (Can't even type it without being censored. Ain't that about a bitch?! But conversations around my existence, as a Black Woman, and my people are considered too "radical", too "controversial", or too "woke" like fuck off for real)

Leaving this country is not an option for the majority of us. The process of gaining a different citizenship will not be done in 2-3 business days. It averages 3-5 YEARS around the world. Unfortunately, I can't even say that a positive is that I live in NYC because I have witnessed, especially in these past few years, how far the state is willing to go to NOT hold authority accountable. We, New Yorkers, have experienced what a police state can look like already.

I am not surprised but truly aggravated.

A multitude of marginalized have just gotten their millionth confirmation that a lot of things have been performative and it is tiring.

In my 34 years of living, I have BARELY seen the payoff of what my grandparents fought for. However, I have learned first hand that equality is a myth because until the systems of which they continue to thrive off of fall... that time will never come. The results of November 5, 2024 show that they are not willing to give up that system.

Our foreign relations are down so bad that we are, damn near, rushing towards an extended list of more countries that we will be denied access to.

The Sims 4 : Helpful World Edit Tutorials & Links

This is for simmers, like myself, who want to slowly edit worlds over time. There are mods, such as blowtorch and flamethrower, that are available to knock it all out at once.

WARNING: Back up your files... and for the love of pixels, be self aware. Do not attempt any of this if you don't have a solid literacy level.

Thank you to all of the simmers who were kind enough to give this info out for free. I simply bookmarked for a rainy day and decided to slap it all into one post.

Sims 4 Studio

Reference key to correlate worlds and their respective folders (Download the PDF and scroll down to see the provided key!)

How to edit world data files through Sims 4 Studio (You have to temporarily move the world file in order for it to save in S4S. Afterwards, place it back into the exact location that you temporarily moved it from. At least, this is what worked for me.)

Hide World Objects through Sims 4 Studio

Better default tab camera

Move camera further while in build mode

Go & Click Anywhere (Mod that you can place objects beyond neighborhood borders)

How to create world backdrops

I had mentioned that I wanted to start showing things that I completely bulldoze to start over. So... here I go again! (lol)

I posted this months ago stating that I did not like 2 of my WIPs but never the reason.

[Reasons] I felt like I had too many tall builds in the neighborhood. The shadows casted were too much and that would have disturbed whatever I decided for the t.o.o.l portion.

Also, the roof almost drove me mad and the floorplan felt too cramped, despite the scale.
