Would you swap the order of residence and another district to give Malachi more to work with but put the other guardian in a "Malachi situation" where they would have less?
THIS IS A FASCINATING IDEA. honestly. I'd swap malachi with gaius because industry is really. really long. If you define swap as directly swap the length of time to takes to clear the district on average, then maybe thats too long even. but my first kneejerk interpretation of the question was like. to take part of the time from one district to add to residential? anyway yeah industry. but swapping the order is a whole other thing. I think in that case it would really change the role malachi has in the story if he was in the penultimate spot as well
For your "Oops all blue" AU, I have a couple more questions:
•What exactly is Delilah's role in the Rebellion? Is she someone high-ranking (like Adam was implied to be in canon before he usurped Magdalene)? I would figure she isn't a combatant at the least.
•What became of that old hospital? I'd imagine it's not the Rebellion's main base since that'd be putting a target on their backs.
•Does Adam have an attendant like Delilah had Lucretia? (Or perhaps... attendants?)
•What even happens during the Church scene prior to the Tower rising? Since Lugosi's with the Rebellion, the way it happens in canon in either route can't occur. Perhaps the Rebellion in the Red route tries to attack the Church and that leads to everyone sans Adam or whatever other false believers there are being killed or taken hostage? In the Blue route, with Zaphkiel's increased influence, does he eventually find them and have them all ritualistically killed?
•After removing the third eye from Adam, what becomes of him afterwards? Is he lethargic and out of commission for the rest of the game? Is Delilah or the Rebellion able to get to him (if they're alive)?
•How exactly do some of the endings play out? Since the District Guardians (and I assume Zone Guardians as well since this is Healer) don't die, I wonder how a pure red end would work. And for A Sincere Attempt, all I can really think of is the District Guardians being completely overtaken by him. Maybe even Zaphkiel brute forcing the Rebellion to bend to his will and taking Delilah back.
The correspondent endings for giving the Grands to Abram but going to Zaphkiel and vice versa may be their own can of worms.
...But what of the white endings? Or perhaps some endings outright don't exist or are replaced with other kinds; there being no equivalent for any or some of the canon endings.
•What becomes of those like Jericho, Jeska, Jabbok, and Salathiel? For Salathiel at least, is she still with the Rebellion somehow despite how big she is?
•Did Zaphkiel bother with cleansing Macey of the Corruption within her or did he just leave her to rot in her room?
•Does Zaphkiel request for selectively bred ghouls and the like to be made for him? Akin to Blue Zone 2's angelic ghouls, for example.
•Do the Jahdos still exist? It can be inferred the reason they're bloodthirsty guard dogs and were bred for war was because of Adam wanting ghouls in that fashion, but since the Rebellion doesn't have a corrupt leader, would they exist at all, would they be slightly different, or would they be the same as canon (as a defensive measure, for instance).
•During the dreams after each Zone, does Abram continue to try to influence The Batter? Because from what you say, the additional dreams seem to be Red route exclusive, and since Zaphkiel isn't able to get his foot in the door in regards to the Zones, I'd imagine he'd have no way of preventing Abram from butting in if he wanted.
°Do the dreams stop if you finally decide to listen to Zaphkiel, or do they continue?
•What does the Rebellion think of The Batter should he do a mixed hues run (any 2 red and 1 blue or any 2 blue and 1 red)?
@atrophiedentropy
I'm really liking thinking about oops all blue, i wish i had more time to draw things for it
What exactly is Delilah's role in the Rebellion? Is she someone high-ranking (like Adam was implied to be in canon before he usurped Magdalene)? I would figure she isn't a combatant at the least.
Delilahs role in the rebellion isn't a huge one, she doesn't want to lead as she doesn't know how much she can actaully do against her father, rather she is the one who provides information to lugosi about what her father has done, and he welcomes her with open arms. The actaul organization comes later when she suggests trying to get help from the rebellion her brother had built, and thats when the red church joins forces with the rebellion. so I suppose she's the glue holding them together in that way. i think she is somewhat of a peacekeeper between them. Lugosi can occasionally dislike how vanni and mags do things, and advise against them charging in full force like they want to.
What became of that old hospital? I'd imagine it's not the Rebellion's main base since that'd be putting a target on their backs.
I'm not quite sure yet! but, they use the basement levels to store things, and I imagine theres some kind of maintenance tunnel that runs under the sea and to arbella that they use to move around. in fact i think a whole network of sewers, maintenance, and other tunnels are how the rebellion functions in this AU.
Does Adam have an attendant like Delilah had Lucretia? (Or perhaps... attendants?)
It would be interesting for a gaius clone to attend to him wouldn't it...I hadn't considered this much but I like the idea a lot! I imagine there are some clones that are. clones of clones, and thusly have a more divorced sense of self. thats the kind Zaphkiel would choose to look after adam when he cannot...
What even happens during the Church scene prior to the Tower rising? Since Lugosi's with the Rebellion, the way it happens in canon in either route can't occur. Perhaps the Rebellion in the Red route tries to attack the Church and that leads to everyone sans Adam or whatever other false believers there are being killed or taken hostage? In the Blue route, with Zaphkiel's increased influence, does he eventually find them and have them all ritualistically killed?
I think its something like this yes! I imagine the section that replaces the prison is helping the rebellion prepare for an attack on the church (in blue route it might be they take you hostage and you have to break out) their attack is only somewhat successful, the highpriest dies and zaphkiel raises the tower to retreat.
in the blue route, I think zaphkiel is able to use the batter as bait essentially, hes being chased on the way out of the tunnels and church members are able to subdue vanni and mags (maybe a duo boss fight with them happens before even!) and bring them to the church. It would be interesting if lugosi attempts to make some kind of plead to the batter here, to try and save them as a last ditch effort to get through to the batter. but its the players choice.
After removing the third eye from Adam, what becomes of him afterwards? Is he lethargic and out of commission for the rest of the game? Is Delilah or the Rebellion able to get to him (if they're alive)?
given that adam's bedroom eyesurgery would happen near the tail end of the game, sadly he would be out of commission for the rest I imagine. Delilah might come with batter to try and help calm adam down while batter does what he needs to do. and then vanni and mags are the ones to actaully carry him out because theyre strong enough and batter has things he has to attend to.
How exactly do some of the endings play out? Since the District Guardians (and I assume Zone Guardians as well since this is Healer) don't die, I wonder how a pure red end would work. And for A Sincere Attempt, all I can really think of is the District Guardians being completely overtaken by him. Maybe even Zaphkiel brute forcing the Rebellion to bend to his will and taking Delilah back. ...
...But what of the white endings? Or perhaps some endings outright don't exist or are replaced with other kinds; there being no equivalent for any or some of the canon endings.
so in the red route, the corruption spreads like usual and zaphkiel while being more powerful, isn't able to overtake the world. In a full blue, it about like usual, except arbella is preserved at something that belongs to him. The rebellion is his, delilah is back under his wing. he has everything he wants. Though, its not satisfying. he knows its just himself alone, as i've talked about before somewhere on this blog!
in the white endings it would go similar to healers regular au! things are rebuilt, lives restored back to normal. But zaphkiel is not welcomed back by abram, seeing what he is fully capable of has driven the two apart, so instead zaphkiel takes residence in the tower and the nothingness permanently, and becomes somewhat closer with the queen.
What becomes of those like Jericho, Jeska, Jabbok, and Salathiel? For Salathiel at least, is she still with the Rebellion somehow despite how big she is?
Jericho and his gang are somewhat confined to industry, zaphkiel doesn't like dogs I imagine. They probably keep the clones comapny in the basement. Jericho is happy to have time with his dad, but jeska dislikes being so confined.
as for salathiel! I'm not sure how she fits into the timeline, because it kind of seems like she came about after the tower sank? so depending on when zaphkiel gets to gaius in this timeline. I dont think she would exsist in the same form. its cute to imagine a little slathy so i might go with that!
Did Zaphkiel bother with cleansing Macey of the Corruption within her or did he just leave her to rot in her room?
Zaphkiel in general doesn't really...care for "beasts" as he would probably call them. so, no help for macey sadly.
Does Zaphkiel request for selectively bred ghouls and the like to be made for him? Akin to Blue Zone 2's angelic ghouls, for example. + Do the Jahdos still exist? It can be inferred the reason they're bloodthirsty guard dogs and were bred for war was because of Adam wanting ghouls in that fashion, but since the Rebellion doesn't have a corrupt leader, would they exist at all, would they be slightly different, or would they be the same as canon (as a defensive measure, for instance).
at first probably not, but I can see him thinking about it as time goes on and he gets bored of things. But i'm not sure he would fully commit to the idea as he kind of sees elsen as serving this purpose already and they require much less work to do what he wants.
as for jahdos, they probably would be a scrapped project of rolands. probably not as aggressive. similarly probably kept downstairs with the other guys. roland might bring one or two to the rebellion to act as protective guard dogs rather than attack dogs like you mentioned
During the dreams after each Zone, does Abram continue to try to influence The Batter? Because from what you say, the additional dreams seem to be Red route exclusive, and since Zaphkiel isn't able to get his foot in the door in regards to the Zones, I'd imagine he'd have no way of preventing Abram from butting in if he wanted.
I think so! Abram might be more desperate and worried for his friends. or maybe he's more angry, he's probably more angry that zaphkiel has fully completely betrayed him and is ruining his friends lives. It might evolve from rage to asking for healers help as he sees him make things better
Do the dreams stop if you finally decide to listen to Zaphkiel, or do they continue?
there might be one last desperate attempt, or perhaps a burning of a bridge. But after like. zone 2? probably no more.
What does the Rebellion think of The Batter should he do a mixed hues run (any 2 red and 1 blue or any 2 blue and 1 red)?
red majority, theyd assume he had fallen for zaphkiels tricks but came around
blue majority, theyd see him as a lost cause, or perhaps a vessel that is already under the influence of zaphkiel somehow, no matter what argument may be made.
dunno how familiar you are with sanrio, but you know those collabs that are done with their characters? what characters would best match with each of the guys?
I'm not a sanriohead or anything but I may know more than most! but most wont have reason for rating outside of vibes
malachi: aggretsuko
jadon: little twins stars (imperfect symmetry!)
gaius: the little shinkansen bullet train ones lol
adam: badte maru
abram: kuromi, or pocchaco
zaphkiel: my melody (to go with abram), or tuxedo sam!
Do you have any thoughts on the catboy faceset mod for SinDec? Σ:3
I was around when it first came out and I thought it was a very cute and fun idea! It inspires me to want to make my own faceset mod one of these days, but art like that is still something im working on becoming proficient in!
Indeed. To share my two cents, this is why I put the stage of grief‚ "death", for his third memory there. Because he effectively kills himself. Not literally‚ but symbolically a death of the man he once was, and forfeiture of having once been a being of flesh and blood. You take those aspects on their own‚ and what difference would there be between being physically dead and symbolically so? He's no longer flesh and blood in a way that matters; he's a cyborg at most. Gaius died that day‚ and what continued on from that point was an "effigy". It's difficult to put into words‚ I know what I intend but I can't articulate it.
And then there's Laughing Gaius. his eternal punishment and a mockery to all he was. A mockery to his self-punishment. The immortal machine. A man once organic now not even the machine itself‚ but an existence rendered digital and abstract. The idea of what once was. His name lost just like those of the gods of before. The deus ex machina he so sought he has become— but what he has become is in truth, his aspiration's cruel inverse.
A god in the machine‚ and god he made himself out of desperation. Having no choice.
He never wanted this.
A deus ex machina; a miracle cure to fix everything‚ and yet all Gaius is, is the epitome of what brought everything to an end. He is the one who ruined everything. The Corruption distorts and exaggerates part of an entity's code— compounding upon it into a recursive smear that eventually becomes illegible. Unintelligible.
A photocopy of a photocopy.
(How many times can you photocopy a photocopy before it's illegible? How much destructive change does it take to call a thing "destroyed?" How many times can you photocopy a photocopy before it starts to feel pain? I think that number... I think it's actually pretty small.)
He became that "deus ex machina" he sought to manifest. The mirror to the perceived deus ex machina he acquired as Gaius Construct. The latter was fool's gold‚ while the former is simple corruption of the aspect of his code— his being— that sought to manifest a miracle and was being driven mad by failure after failure— further digging himself deeper into a grave, and a corruption of him being backed into a corner and having no choice but to become god.
Just like the Sun, he devoured himself in his anger and despair, being rendered as naught but a pathetic mockery of all he stood for. The earth razed and a heart rejected. A hearth a forest fire.
He became his own Sun in response to the worsening state of the world caused by another Sun. By that Sun rejecting the Sun made for him, leading him to callously squander that light, and that Sun leading to the destruction of the true Sun and the mother of the original Sun.
Made in His image, and become like Him he did, for just like a god‚ he can never die.
A cosmic joke.
Hilarious.
What can you do except laugh? When all your efforts were for nothing and you've rendered yourself immobile within your tomb of circuitry and misery. Trapped in place and forced to bear witness to the world you fought in vain to save crumble into a glitchy red haze before your eyes? That you feel it's all your fault, for if only you knew the ulterior motives behind his actions, you would've never enabled them. Gave too much of yourself and look how the world has unraveled. You point blame upon your son, upon "god", upon your old friend, yet in your heart of hearts, you feel know you are the one at fault.
They are all damned now, and you are the one to blame.
Hindsight is 20/20, after all, but what excuse does that make? What worth is that pitiful attempt at trying to absolve yourself of fault when the objective result is your ignorance leading to the end of all things?
At the end of it all, what can you do but laugh when all of this happened because of you?
If the District Guardians, Abram, Zaphkiel, and Delilah were types of chocolates, what would they be? (things like cordials, clusters and the like or even just types of chocolate in general like milk, dark, white, blonde, ruby, or jaguar)
@atrophiedentropy
firstly impressive pull with jaguar, secondly, my answer!
malachi: modeling chocolate! versatile
jadon: goo goo cluster and im not going to elaborate
gaius: chocolate orange
adam: pellizco
abram: couverture chocolate
zaph: aerated chocolate
delilah: some kind of truffle i think, the filling flavor eludes me..maybe espresso?
do you think the grand chocolatier tasted like anything?
despite chocolatier being in the name, probably not chocolate. it was probably just like a sugar cube! It seems like the kind of thing that would melt in your mouth
one of my favorite traits of gaius' is his cowardice! in general, but it also seems that any pathway he takes he sets himself on steadfastly without considering an alternative till its too late (or never at all)*
*treatment of adam. making a whole creature to be his factories main power source.
all this to say he could never kill himself even if it wouldve shortened his suffering because he was so set on being alive that he entombed himself in a machine.
What would the Arbela guardians, Abram's, and Zaph's preferred sandwiches be? From things like simple ham and cheese to clubs to croque monsieur or whatever. Or even those whipped cream and fruit ones from Japan idk.
...At this point we're nearing the question of what counts as a sandwich...
for the sake of clarity BURGERS. ARE NOT COUNTED AS SANDWICHES FOR THIS QUESTION. i am also leaving out hot dogs. I will define a sandwich as something involving Sliced. loaf of bread, hoagie roll, etc
malachi: BAHN MI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
jadon: huge turkey club sub sandwich, I think he can appreciate the art of a sub sandwich in general but I think turkey club is his favorite
gaius: buterbrod (russian style). quick easy, with a simple flavor. something he can put together as a quick meal (prefers mayonaise and cucumber)
adam: grilled cheese. The simple pleasures are often ones people dream of when they have little else.
abram: a reuben! He likes the dark bread, yummy tangy corned beef, and loves the sauerkraut! he would especially like it with a little toothpick with a flag on it sticking out
zaphkiel: monte cristo. I know hes a freak like that
A bit late, but would the District attendants do anything special for their respective Guardians' birthdays?
@atrophiedentropy
OOOH very fun question!!
noah: Plans a party! invites the other guardians, asks jadon to make a cake. and sets it up on the roof for everyone to enjoy. Malachi appreciates it. Noah would also want to make him a present of some kind, probably just a nice card and maybe something to eat to go with the cake!
post corruption he can't go visit malachi, or won't perhaps whatever fight they got into occured when he tried to do something nice for that day...who knows. Now the date is just a reminder of the man he misses dearly. He cries a lot.
aliza: She knows jadon doesn't want a big party or anything, she would probably have the cast of the current play theyre working on sign a card and collect any gifts they have to be delivered all at once! and she would write him a nice poem or something similar. I think she's a somewhat talented seamstress (still learning though) so she might make him something like a nice shirt if she has time!
post corruption she just goes in and says hi, brings him a card and some cake. She knows he doesnt want her sticking around.
roland: him and the science team would bring cakes and such throughout the day for him to snack on. hard worker gaius is. Roland would write the note in the card they all sign!
just because its cute. He would bring whatever clone is currently in the office a little cake, and then maybe go down stairs to give him a more personal update on how things are going. I can't imagine gaius is really...responding in a timely matter, if at all. But it brings roland some comfort to be kind to him on his day.
francis: doesn't know when adams birthday is. Though when it rolls around adam is particularly. whats a good word for it... Offputting. Francis is always checking his back as it is, but on adams birthday he actaully sees him more often than not. Sometimes he even talks to francis. Fran usually can't parse a word of what adam's talking about. half because he's trying to ignore it and half because adam's mental state isn't awesome on that day which leads him to have a much less. refined filter.
