Was walking around Harvard’s campus this evening with @sallycredille and stumbled upon their candlelight prayer vigil for the Boston Marathon bombing victims. Beautiful. “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.”
sbnation: The front pages from around Massachusetts today. Boston I’m headed there for work this morning. While the airport bustles, people board their flights or find a nearby screen to watch the coverage. Then others just stare at the floor as they drag luggage behind them, and you know it’s because they’re avoiding the obvious… That we’re never really, truly, safe. But our safety comes from Christ and His promise of life and freedom from death. By His grace we are saved and have new life in Him, a life everlasting. “The Lord our God is ever faithful, Never changing through the ages, From this darkness, You will lead us, And forever we will say, You’re the Lord our God” - Kristian Stanfill, The Lord Our God Sincerely, Sally B.
This is a legitimate question.

For my little Londoner. This is a great ad. And it's making me thirsty.

He is risen! Happy Easter. Sincerely, Sally B.
Don't be alarmed, but I use a pretty sweet method of bracketology which combines colors, mascots, and simple personal preference. For instance, weapons trump animals, fierce animals trump wimpy ones, forces of nature means an animal was too embarrassed to be your mascot and you lose, and different shades of blue may well earn you a bye to the next round. I think I've got the W on lock.

Confession: I cannot stop listening to this 8-minute jam on his new album, "The 20/20 Experience." It makes me feel like I'm 20 again, headed to the beach for spring break with my college lady loves and we're bumpin' some baby JT in my Jeep Wrangler. Doors off. Shades on.
So glad he's back with a winner. If you haven't watched this entire episode of Saturday Night Live, DO SO. He laid it down.
P.S. Where do I sign up to join the Tennessee Kids?
Sincerely,
Sally B.
This obituary of one Harry Stamps of Long Beach, Mississippi, was written by his daughter Amanda. I didn't know Mr. Stamps, but you can bet I would have liked him. From one daughter to another, one writer to another, snaps to Ms. Lewis.

me: No, you're not. Nor are you afraid to think inside the box, which is called a coffin.

This might seem flippant stuck in between posts about bacon and cats, but it’s really important to me and I want to put it out there.
Last night I watched my DVR’d episode of Our America with Lisa Ling- 3AM Girls- A Year Later, an exposé about girls who are forced to work...
To this, I will add the End It Movement.
There are 27 million people living in slavery. Right now, TODAY, there are more slaves in the world than at any other time in history. This should outrage our generation. And it would, except most of us don't know, because there are only a few shining a light on slavery. I don't claim to be one of them because this blog is mostly filled with posts about my boss and my poor attempt at civilized adulthood. But April 9 is Shine a Light on Slavery day, and I intend to let people know.
Sincerely,
Sally B.
Happy Valentine's Day
