"And if there ever comes a day where you feel too small for the world, I will be there to remind you of the beauty that you hold. It's not just the beauty of your eyes, your laugh or your face. It's your heart, your soul and how you carry yourself with grace. Did you know that Mother Earth cried when she heard how unkind you spoke to your soul? She had spent so much time to create you perfectly as a whole. Mother Earth told me to tell you to never feel alone, as strangers, family and even your ancestors are with you.. as they run through your veins and bones."

"In my ideal world, there would be no money, no power, no greed among us. Division would not exist, because we would be one. Our language would be poetry and instead of guns, we would carry la-la-love. Like neighbours, we would visit each other to eat, cook and laugh. In my ideal world, nobody would starve.. and God would be smiling from above. Like a proud Father, because his children are finally getting along."
"A trip to my ideal world" - @sincerelyyada
"I dedicate this to my immigrant mother, a woman who crossed borders, shortly after losing her brother. Her pain was deep, yet life didn't give her time for sorrows. Daya left Kurdistan behind in order for us to be free, so when they ask me who my hero is, I tell them it is she. It is my mother who I called 10 times a day, when living in the Hague. Just to hear her voice and listen to what she had to say. It is my mother who loves and cares, who thinks of us before thinking of herself. It is my mother who is a wiser version of me, and everything that I ever wish to be."

"In your twenties you came to this country, not knowing what to expect. Life was new, strange and far from perfect. Me and my mother come from two different generations and haven't had similar lives. Yet, we look alike, as you can tell by the fire in our eyes. I never had to worry about a single thing in life and that is because my mother left everything behind.. Just so that my future would be bright."

"Tell me about your trip to Asia and the arguments you had with your brother. I will tell you about my first year and how I still suck at Economics. We will laugh about the pointless arguments and my bad grades. It will be fine, it will be alright, just like old times."

''You tell me your anxiety made you feel simple, it made you feel small. But I have noticed, when you talk about the mountains, you never forget to mention the beauty of the stars. And that is you, always appreciating the beauty in all. You make sure that everyone feels seen, and nobody is left alone at the scene. That, my love, has been your beauty ever since you were a teen. And in my eyes, that is what makes you an absolute queen.''

"How can I honour the writer whose pen was broken? Whose mouth was silenced and whose life was stolen?
By taking away your life, they tried to steal your words, but they made us rise. Without the use of ink, one can still write. The impact of your words lives on in young writers, look at the passion in their eyes.
You probably knew that they would murder you, perhaps that is the saddest of all. But instead of lowering your voice, you made your point and refused to be made small.
Bravery is what comes to mind when I think about you. You decided to tell the truth, which took courage, which inspired the youth.
Again, I ask myself how can we honour the writer who gave his life for his words? My hand grabs a pen and the paper slowly fills itelf with rising words.
The words stare back at me and then, I know, we can honour the writer by never putting down our pens. Instead of silencing ourselves, we share his legacy, keep on writing and hope that one day our words will meet him again."
- In honour of Sardasht Osman. 1987 - 2010 🥀 Sardasht Osman was a Kurdish journalist and student who was brutally kidnapped and murdered, after criticising the Kurdish government in articles and a poem. We will never forget nor forgive. 🥀
''The best investment I ever did… Was not in the club, nor in going out. For so long, I thought that made me happy and carefree, when all along the best investment should have been on me. When working on myself, I felt pure love. During the chakras, I felt great power coming from above. Instead of anger and yelling to be heard, I chose to calm down and use kinder words. So, when someone asks me what the best investment I ever did was, I tell them it was choosing me and therefore, choosing love.''

"As of today, I will set myself free. I will no longer be searching for someone to make me feel complete. To my beautiful body, I am sorry for being so unkind. From now on, there will be no judging on my mind. Mirror on the wall, there will be no more tears. Only smiling, which you hadn’t seen in years. For so long, I have searched for someone to save me from me. Now I realize, that I found a hero, and it is she. She is me, and she is free."

"Not all who you meet are pure and made of gold Some are toxic and make you feel cold Do not let them change who you are You shine brightly, like a star But watch out, as a star can die Once there is no fuel left, it will fall from the sky This is a lesson for us all, Do not let toxic energy exhaust you and make you fall."
- in a sky full of stars, you are Sirius, the brightest of all. (@sincerelyyada)
''When you are healing, be kind. Not just to the world, or those in your life, but to yourself, as you're the most important person in your life. Healing is not easy, there are times where you may fall. There will be tears and you want to rip down all your plans from the wall. At that exact moment, I need you to step back and love yourself a little more. Nobody blames you if you're too afraid to open that door. Give yourself some extra time, and don't beat yourself up just because you cried. It tells me that you are human and that part of you must never die. Healing told progress that they will meet when the timing feels right, at the other side, where the sun will reassure you that life will be alright.''
healing takes time (@sincerelyyada)
how disappointing and what a shame, that they took a part of your beautiful body, to make you "well behaved'', to not have lust and for them to enjoy your pain. I wish I could have saved you, I wish it would not have been done. I would have taken your hand, we would have run. I can never imagine how it must have felt, but my heart hurts for you, as you are a sister whose story must be shared. show them wrong, be a rebel, you are not an object. your body belongs to you. for the next generations, women demand a change. it won't be easy, it will be hard, but as long as we are together, we will be oh so brave

“You and me. This is how we planned our future to be. I remember when I called you and you were nowhere to be seen. My forever and your forever were not the same, and yes this time, you are the one to blame.”
- “I can’t stand the word forever” @sincerelyyada
“darling, even in a world that treats you cruel and cold, always remember that you shine as bright as gold.”
- An ode to our black/coloured Queens. (@sincerelyyada)
i used to search for approval and live a life that wasn’t right. worrying about what others thought and overthinking during the night. but I grew like the rose from the concrete and realised that change can be bittersweet. friends did not understand the transition that I made and said how they miss the old me. but the old me never left and is still a part who I am, and I respect her, at times she was my only friend. but for now, I choose to spend more time with this new woman that lives in me because she unconditionally wants to be free.
