@gloamios asked: "I’m not supposed to feel safe with you." (to phobetor, from vivi, early days)

"Oh? So that's what you think."
Phobetor looks away from her, a leg hung over one arm of his throne as he was just talking with the new ward of his area. The strange one that had Morpheus' men running around like decapitated chickens.
"You assume I'm going to trap you here and scare you until you dehydrate your body back home from crying or something? That it?" He licks his sharp teeth, deciding to himself if he's annoyed because she is making assumptions, or because her saying this cuts him off from pretending that was the case. Even for a good few minutes.
"No. In case you've forgotten, you have special access now. Think of me more like your prison guard, but in a more free-range type of joint. I'm not here to scare you. Just to stop you running off and fucking things up."
Mostly to oversee those who do, but he couldn't help but see her first personally. Both for obligation and because he was curious who he had to thank for causing his dear brother a little more stress.
Whilst my Hekate has never married or carried any children, she does have five quintuplet daughters, all of whom honed their natural powers into differing domains of magic.
These five daughters of hers she adopted were Lamaí creatures -> seemingly human-born children who, quite soon after birth, shed their legs and human form to become the serpentine-human hybrid creatures they are.
They feed from humans in various ways and but find home in Hekate's cave, the crossroads and the underworld.
@nectaric asked: Drink the tea. Yes, all of it. I'll make more. - Demeter to Hekate

Hekate stares at the cup and saucer (from her own extensive collection), eyebrows more furrowed and lips drawn down further than usual. The disapproval was clear.
It had been unfortunate that Demeter had sought her out just as she had returned from a prolonged sensory deprivation study, when she was at her most depleted.
Usually the statue of herself set up to record messages, or the deference to her daughters, was enough to have her recover in her own time.
Demeter's stubbornness, unfortunately, was not one easily combatted.
"You are worse still than my daughters." Who no doubt gave the goddess indication of where the restoration tea even was. "I can care for myself, you know this."
And she had notes to write, observations to record. This tea could wait.
Yet she felt the burning intensity of the look she got in response even without looking up.
Pale, slightly tremoring, hands slipped out from beneath her cloak sleeves and gently took the cup and saucer.
"At least sit with me."
Studious eyes regard Demeter in the dim candlelight, as she manages to lift the cup to her lips and take a sip. She would attempt not to show the other any visible sign of relief in having done so. A sign of her own stubborn edge.
I am making an alteration into my portrayal of her appearance.
My original headcanon: a constant look of triple animal heads (lion, dog and horse) with a porcelain mask of glamour.
New: a humanoid appearance of thick, long, black hair (often braided half-up or fully), with a palid face, sharp cheek bones, a low brow and down-turned lips that have her looking stern in a neutral expression. She often hides her face beneath a hood that creates an unusually lengthened shadow down to her lips no matter the surrounding light.
BUT she is able to channel aspects of magic that assign to one of the triplicate idea, and each third temporarily morphs her appearance into a hybrid state (either animalistic or altering her age)
It was dangerous to just start speaking at Kassandra when she was so focussed, but making her jump was also very fun. This time, at least, he had waited until she had taken out the bandit camp rather than stalking them.
Ikaros gave a rather late warning cry, all he could do considering the god had seemingly appeared from nowhere.
"For thieves who seemingly want to be the best, they were incredibly cheap in their offerings. I don't know why they expected that would work out." Peering into a tent, he disregarded the captain slain in his bed and wrinkled his nose at the shittest attempt at a shrine he had ever seen. Not through a lack of resources, but a lack of effort, or belief. He'd seen beggars put more effort in.
Kicking a stone with his feet, he reached for a coin pouch on a corpse and snatched it, shoving it into the pocket of his robes as he smiled over at Kassandra.
"Why bother with them, anyway? You barely broke a sweat."
@nectaric gets a bonus starter from PERSEPHONE for HADES!
"Oh no, no!" Persephone tuts, having slipped through a crack in his office door and seeing her husband in such an atrocious state. "You are more hunched than the end of a shepherd's crook! No wonder you complain of aches."
She approached, fingers carefully placing a full mug of coffee down beside him as she stood at his side. A mug-warmed hand gently flattens against the top of Hades' shoulder blades and begins to rub, seeking out any tension.
"When was the last time you even left your desk? Must I set a timer or something and drag you out by your ear?" She smiled to herself then, picturing it herself. "Or fetch aunt Hestia."
@nectaric requested a starter for DEMETER from PERSEPHONE!
"Once Hekate has made me a petrification salt, I will display every stone slug for its species to see, to see what will happen to them if they go near my produce ever again." The words were complete with an irritated shriek as she storms into the living room and plops herself down next to mother.
"They are natural and I'm sure have a wonderful purpose anywhere else but my garden."
It was the problem with growing things in different realms, all of them had so many different issues!
At least mother could understand the woes of pests, and could be sympathetic. She hoped.
@intothewildsea requested a starter from ASTERIUS for NIAMH!
Before his life with Niamh, the beach was not somewhere he spent a vast amount of time. The large expanse, though beautiful, was rather daunting and had him feeling exposed.
And then there came Niamh, with her life so entwined with the ocean and the beach. Ever so slowly, Asterius accompanied her to the beach more often. Sitting and watching her in the ocean with her other selkies, enjoying the quiet, keeping watch for any dangers that would affect her. One day, he reflected on himself and realised that he was beginning to enjoy the beach himself.
The constant noise of the waves, the softness of the sand, finding little stones and shells he could examine - even sketch. The reassurance that Niamh is where she is most content and safe. It became a haven for him as much as her.
This time, he had brought a little jar with him and had passed time arranging shells between thin layers of sand to form a small gift for her. Which he presented to her when she approached, regardless of her present form.
"For you." He said softly, an affectionate smile replacing his formerly stoic expression.
