So while I was looking through my work to reblog some of it I realized that I never posted my graduation pieces from well graduation. And to be honest...I still love these pieces.

They watch over me while i sleep.

They told a powerful story for me when I needed to just be done with college.

And to this day...I see the flaws in them but as completed works go they taught me the most about digital painting, about storytelling, and about just finishing what I start but not rushing to the finish line.

I started an art challenge for april!!! And I failed to keep up with it!! Mermay will be better.

During the earth day event for pokemon go I saw so many adorable Poliwags! So I drew one from memory and tried to make a kind of field sketch thing. I just really love Poliwags.

And I wanted to sketch in pen....or...it started in pen and I finished in pen and then I made the whole page a pen page. But I’m probably not gonna post the rest of the page.

These two belong to the same universe as Syphirine however it’s actually their universe. Hopefully...you’ll be seeing more of them this year? I’ve given up on promising anything when it comes to me and making comics.

Sooooooooooo I think I kinda mentioned it before but I kinda keep my characters close to my heart because it’s hard to let them out into the world. I worry about them and what people will think of them and all the lovely jazzy thoughts that come with being a creator.

But...hopefully you’ll be seeing more of this little guy so here is Sypherine. Sypherine runs a candy shop and that’s about all I wanna say right now. Though it is worth noting that this is one of those characters that started off with a small part in one of my comics and now has a whole entire world....though not in that comic.

Ok I can’t remember if this was for inktober or huevember last year >.> judging by what’s on the rest of the page I am going to take a guess and say it was for.......actually no I can’t guess the more I think about it.

BUT WHATEVER. I’m actually really happy with this just cause I like the shading on the bun. This was entirely random and I remember doing it as like a literal wake up sketch, I woke up and rolled over and started drawing while I was waiting for my friend to wake up at our sleepover. I wish I did that more often.

I want to say that this is the first time I have painted post graduation. And honestly…..it’s probably the first time I have painted traditionally, and with watercolor, in awhile because my last year of college was strictly digital. Nothing against that, I grew a lot as a digital artist. But it definitely enabled me to learn so much about the traditional world too. Admittedly though I did sneak a little digital in here~

I’m struggling right now between the artist college wanted me to be and returning to the passion I had before college yet incorporating the skills I picked up in college.

But hey, I’ve got the rest of my life to find my balance. So. Here, we, GO!

Oh by the way, meet my void keepers. They’re gonna show up a lot this year. Probably.

Today I’m 23. Birthday. WOO! And I finished this sometime last week but I just haven’t been up to posting it. But. It’s my birthday. It’s a good day because I’m making it a good day.

Things have been quiet around here for awhile because school is eating all my time but Inktober is upon us and here is my day one. I’m doing digital inking this year because I’m doing a lot of it for class and I need to get better and faster at it. This is also posted on my instagram!

I told the amazing @corporalkis that if they finished all their studies on saturday they could pick my day two witch, And like the excellent student they are they did and I drew an autumn witch for them.

Summer is at an end and summer witches are off to warmer climates for a bit of downtime. Some like to ride out the rest of the seasons in their normal environment but others like the occasional holiday.

Back to my witches today.

Running late because I’m just dead tired and rundown right now. I’m switching to traditional for the next couple days because I’m visiting my parents this week. Happy to end my seasonal witches.

I failed to keep up with huevember and I’m a little disappointed with myself but I fee like it was just too much to try to take on Nanowrimo and Huevember after I did inktober and sketchtember. Like…I kept up with Nanowrimo so I’m proud of myself?

But yea! I really love this painting and I’m just happy right now. Also I made a speedpaint of this! It’s a post behind this one on my blog.

It was @vampskeeper ‘s 23rd birthday earlier this month so I had to give her birthday art because she is an amazing person and I feel so blessed to have her in my life. So! Even though we’re all late, go give her a happy birthday for me and enjoy this ice cream cone.
