I want you all to know that I laughed for a solid five minutes when I got the notification that Charlie was nominated in for best protagonist. I am very proud that my directionally challenged, hilariously pure baby is in the running.

Once again another year has come to a close and although 2016 has been shite beyond all comparison, and once again, this year, like every other years, the Nuzlocke Forum’s are holding an [Extravaganza]!

And [A Roads Journey] got nominated!

I’m honestly shocked and excited I even got nominated, let alone to move forward to the voting round!?

For “Most Improved Run” too boot! I am beyond thrilled and excited and happy beyond compare.

I’m so glad to all of you whom nominated A Roads Journey, since I’ve been working on this comic since 2010, 2 years planning, then started publishing in 2012, but then things happened, and I had to put the comic on Hiatus with random burst updates, until this year, when I started updating once a month.

So from the bottom of my heart, thank you all so very very much for not only sticking with me all these years, and for nominating me, but for also enjoying my comic.

Would you ever consider having a Jewish character/culture in your run? I've always HC'd Hilda as Sephardic Jewish which would coincidentally match up with what you've done with her so far (not that I'm pressuring you or anything) but I was just wondering

I would! I’m Muslim and only have a basic understanding of Jewish culture so thank you very much for bringing this up. I’m doing research and it’s interesting and lines up well with her background, so yes! 

That’s her headcanon now. I’ll try my best to do it justice when her story comes along.

I felt like playing with body types and XunTao/’Shauntal’ fucking owns her outfit thank you v.much (It’s by Elesa btw, +10pts for catering to all ladies) 

For those of you familiar with Criminal Minds, she’s Penelope Garcia to Marshal’s Derek Morgan. 

They’re cute af. Both have issues which the other complements; Xun struggles with her body image sometimes despite her outward confidence, Marshal does not. Marshal dropped out of school in fifth grade and is dyslexic while Xun’s studied at tertiary level and is a celebrated writer specializing in horror (she can write different genres, that’s just her favorite). Due to Lady Catalina’s antisocial behavior and Grimsley’s narcissism, these two are the only ones of the Elite Four who get along and they’re pretty tight and very protective of one another----Marshal won’t tolerate anyone mocking his babygirl for her looks or stylistic choices and Xun will lob her heaviest Oxford at your damn head if you put her boy down as some idiot thug.  Whenever he’s not training or battling challengers, Marshal hangs out at Xun’s hall listening to her read snippets of her latest chapters. She’s decreed him her personal beta reader and has, since they became a part of Unova’s Elite Four, been helping him overcome his Dyslexia.

Her fanfiction of the League members never fails to amuse him; They both agree that ElesaxSkyla is primetime OTP and DraydenxAlder need to stop dancing around each other.

Elesa’s popularity is a bit of an anomaly with the Unovans who still have their misgivings about Kanto in general, what with her being ethnically Kantonese. Her family migrated to Unova a decade before the war began and when it started, other Kantonese like them were deported to internment camps under the guise of national security until Kanto colonized the nation. The Unovan-Kantonese were released and forced to work for the ruling military due to their wealth of insider information, having lived here for years. However when the rebellion began, Drayden’s mother Tiamendra courted them and offered them refuge in Opelucid (one of the uncolonized strongholds) as well as the promise of a motion to grant them proper citizenship in return for their services as spies and informants  Her grandfather became one of their most valuable informants and her family was among those granted citizenship status after Unova’s independence.  However, a lot of bias still remained and they generally had a hard time finding work; Her modelling career didn’t take off until some redhead from Mistralton looking for fresh faces to shoot for an avant garde air force recruitment video walked into her life and that launched her to stardom and a relationship that is both the talk of the town and the mutinied whispers of the populace---it’s not just anyone who can go toe to toe with the Empress of the skies, Skyla Sturmvogel.  Her stage name ‘Elesa’ and her blonde hair (dyed) were initially so that Unovans could better accept her if she didn’t look or sound too Kantonese for their liking, however with Skyla encouragement, she’s gone back to her natural hair color and has started using more of Kanto’s artistic influence her style and designs. Anyone who has a problem with that can take it up with her fans and her girlfriend’s flying armada. 

Lady Catalina, the ‘Sybil’ of the Elite Four speaks only when spoken to, doesn’t entertain friendships, is quietly feared by the public and and often regarded as frozen or unfeeling by her compatriots. Her psychic powers which expanded vastly into her late teens at this point enables her to predict/see the death of anyone she had a close connection to hence her absconding from Sinnoh and Darach her butler (the actual reason for her disappearance---her growing feelings for him allowed her to see a vision of the time and nature of his death) to make her way to Unova where she heard about a Pokemon with the exact same abilities and with its help, has been trying to control and fine-tune her gifts. Without Darach by her side (she refuses to see him even with him coming over to clean her villa twice each year since), her Gothitelle is the closest thing she has to a friend.
