“Music can inspire a lot of different emotions.” Lowell grinned and tucked his triple-ocarina back into a pocket. “Well, that baby’s a triple, so you’d have to start with a single and then work your way up. But, honestly, it’s pretty intuitive. Like a penny whistle or a recorder, except way awesomer.”

“You realize you’re lying to someone who’s full time job is to read peoples emotions?”
“That’s your job? You’d think you would be better at this. I mean, if practice really does make perfect.”
janitortorres:
“Yeah…not really sure what to do about it. You know how to play a tiny guitar?”
“Of course not, you’d need tiny hands for that.” She held up her hands to display her lengthy fingers, demonstrating her would-be incompetence at playing the tiny guitar.
leann-hart:
“I know blood when I see it, Siobhan, and that’s–”
“Oh. Hm. Well what the hell is it, then?”
Siobhan looked at the red fluid on her fingertip and then smudged it across Leann’s lips. “It’s your new lipstick.”
lowell-iversen:
“It’s a South-American hand-flute. It’s also known as the potato flute cuz of its shape. Here, I’ll play you a bit.”
“Potato flute. That’s disgustingly adorable.” Siobhan gagged for a second. “How long does it take to learn?”
lowell-iversen:
“Alright. Sorry it’s, you know, a little sweaty. I was jamming on the ocarina for hours and it just takes it out of you.”
“I’ll wash it and bleach it, don’t worry. What’s an ocarina? I feel so uncultured, oh my god.”
m-barcilon:
“Is there something wrong?”
“Nope. Not even a little bit. Unless there is and I don’t know about it.”
lowell-iversen:
“You could just not tell people that it’s a band, I guess. I don’t know why you’d want to, cuz like, that’s the whole point of a band t-shirt, but I don’t like real explosions either, so whatever.”
“Yeah, I could do that. Either way, burning it seems like a waste, so I’ll take it off your hands. You’re welcome.”
lowell-iversen:
“I guess I just assumed that you would be into Explosions in the Sky. You seem like you might. I’ll have to burn it or something, I guess.”
“I love explosions in the sky, just not the band.”
leann-hart:
“Obviously not.”
Siobhan ran a finger across the red liquid. “Is this even blood, Leann?”
m-barcilon:
“Well, then they are a future of some kind that affects the world in the long run. They are also a reminder that I need to be kind to them for the sake of her developmental and psychological health.”
“Hm. Stubborn.”
“Children are our future, Children are our future, Children are our future…” Maxine speaks softly, rubbing her temples.
“They’re not our future. By the time they’re our age, we’ll all be dead or senile.” Siobhan laughed brightly.
“Ex-excuse— yes, you, excuse me, is that your blood?”
“Course not. Is that your blood?”
“I think my guitar shrunk.”
“Let me see.” Siobhan leaned towards the guitar and squinted. “Yep.”
“Here, I can’t wear this shirt anymore. The band’s become too mainstream. You take it.”
“What makes you think I want it?”
