'Cause way down deep inside I've got a dream!
꒰ 🐚 ꒱ؘ ࿐ ࿔* : Yuu had just embarked on their journey to become the King of the Pirates. So what if the boat they had been on had suddenly been dragged into a whirlpool? Yuu's dream would not be deterred by such small inconvenience! Hunkering down in a barrel would do just fine until they get to land. Although coming out of a coffin was not exactly what they expected it certainly brought excitement for this mystery adventure!
꒰ pairings! ꒱ؘ : Housewardens x Yuu! Luffy D. Monkey (Part 2!) —Previous part over here!
꒰ author note! ꒱ؘ : Finally got this big boy out! Thank you so much for all of you who liked, reblogged, and shared kind words with me! I tried to do a more generic Yuu ( meaning that similar events happened per character ) but I couldn’t help but change how they get together in each part to be different. Because I just don’t think it would always turn out the same way. :D
The true victim of both of them together is Jamil. Poor dude was initially already with a bad start by being overworked and underpaid only to see that he now has double the work. ( He truly did feel his will to live chip away after seeing Yuu devour the banquet in less than ten minutes and ask for seconds )
However I think this only happens when Yuu is with both Jalim and Kalim. What this means exactly? Yuu’s attention is usually so easy re-directed that they do not usually stick in one place for too long without an adventure keeping them there. Meaning that wherever they go so does Kalim. They drag him everywhere they go.
To ramshackle, the illegal places they probably don’t have access to, to train their abilities, and even when eating Yuu drags Kalim with them!
This is of course reciprocated by the Scarabia Housewarden who easily gets excited when exposing Yuu to this world’s features. Although these types of ‘exposures’ are probably considered luxuries to the average citizen and would definitely be worth someone’s yearly salary. Both of their favorites activities is partying and celebrating with friends.
These types of gathering became even more frequent and robust once Yuu joined. As the budget for the food had to be slightly enlarged to accommodate for special appetites.
These parties can last across an entire weekend! Which makes some students exhausted just looking at the extra energy both of them exude without blinking an eye.
Kalim is also vocally, and financially supportive of Yuu’s ambition. He is the biggest hype man to ever grace the earth ( although just a tad bit worried about what exactly you will be doing as a ‘Pirate King’ he hoped it didn’t come with too many responsibilities ) which means not only does he proudly introduce you as “The future King of the Pirates” but he may also attempt to get you outfits that ‘show the world’ that you will be a pirate.
Kalim will buy the most stereotypical pirate clothes that anybody has ever seen, while also costing a fortune, and give them to Yuu with a blinding smile on his face.
If only both of them could agree on what pirate clothes are ‘good enough’. After all, while Yuu doesn’t exactly throw these clothes away they for sure don’t seem interested in wearing them if they don’t ’look pirate enough’. What you rvsvtlu mean is a mystery to the rest of the student population. However, thankfully they don’t have to deal with your antics : Kalim takes that one for the team gleefully on their place.
Something that Kalim wouldn’t realize until later on was how miserably low Yuu’s grades were. The reason for this was that he would constantly see their partner not appear in remedial tests or even study for a test, ever!
Which lead to his ever growing admiration for you to keep growing as he greatly overestimated your relationship with academics.
This belief got so bad he almost asked you personally for help in studying. Thankfully, Jamil had gotten a foreboding feeling that something in the world had gone wrong while cooking which let him know Kalim was going to do something particularly stupid today, and put a stop to it quickly.
Not that he was able to convince Kalim regarding the truth of Yuu’s intelligence. That had been a lost cause from the beginning.
Yuu and Kalim both love the flying magical carpet. Enough that they don’t hesitate to go out with it as much as possible late at night. It’s a special occasion for both of them that would be remembered for years to come as one of their fondest memories.
Without doubt in these rides is where they got to know each other better. Yuu would share their most intimate memories with Kalim regarding their childhood memories. Their crazy gramps who showed his love through rough fists and grumbles, the two brothers choosen by Yuu and not by blood, the red haired pirate who started it all, and of course the gentle lady who owned the bar who seemed so different from his rough caretaker. Kalim had heard all of those stories more than once. However, he still hung onto them like it was the first time he was hearing them.
He is someone who will hold tightly onto those secrets shared under the moonlight even when he may be loose lips about other matters.
Kalim is unsurprisingly clingy towards Yuu which is a fortunate circumstance as Yuu is equally as clingy back. They could both be considered Koalas when you take into account how often they both were leaning on the other.
Regarding Jamil’s overblot it was definitely approached at a faster rate. Not only were Yuu and Kalim enabling each other, but they seemed to cause even more chaos together. The problem with Jamil’s original plan is that Yuu could be surprisingly perspective when it came to those they were close with.
But that didn’t mean that they discovered Jamil’s plan off the bat. Rather Yuu was one of the first if not the first to notice that there was something off about the housewarden.
Causing the first ‘fights’ between the couple. Something that Jamil did not consider would make Yuu more invested in figuring out what was making Kalim act this way.
Things got worse for Jamil once the three other menaces got involved. The shady trio rolled in expecting a scheme to take place only to once again be bamboozled by Yuu who rolled in demanding that Jamil shows his face.
Yuu would certainly remain fixated on the fight due to the anger they were feeling as as a result of Kalim being hurt by the situation.
However the idea of Jamil being pressured if not outright forced to work under Kalim wasn’t sounding the best to them. Rather, they became even more irritated at the situation. Seeing someone being forced to do things they didn’t like due to their family brought back bad memories that Yuu preferred to not think about.
But even after all was over they refused to intervene further between Jamil and Kalim when they started talking. Tuning them both out while eating the rest of the food that they found. Much to the surprise of the eels and Azul who would have expected them to shove their nose into the other’s business once again.
Yet when asked about it Yuu simply shrugged and said, “Kalim hasn’t asked me to help here.”
Although the three of them didn’t understand the logic they didn’t bother arguing knowing that it would lead them nowhere.
Unsurprisingly Yuu asked Kalim to go with them and sail the seas together. However, the housewarden for once hesitated in giving their answer.
For once Kalim considered what Jamil would go through if he just left. To who would the blame fall onto? Who would really be suffering in this adventure?
“I’m sorry Yuu — I don’t want to go with you.”
Yuu pouted as the response and almost gave in into the urge to whine their partner’s ear off into going with them. However, the look in his eyes stopped them short. It was the first time that they had seen their partner have that look in their eyes. Just with one look they knew that Kalim would not budge in this stance.
So instead they brought their hat down with a hand to hide the disappointment in their face before rushing to cling onto Kalim before having to leave.
“Kalim! Wait for me okay?! I’ll come back for you after I become the Pirate King!”
Words that were reassurance for Kalim who was now outright sobbing on a disgruntled Jamil allowed for his face to light with relief and hope. Which was why without hesitation he cupped his hands around his mouth and shouted back his last words for a long while to his lover.
“I’ll be waiting for you! No water how long it takes!”
What Yuu didn’t expect was for the shopping habits they developed to be such a big deal for some of their crew. Especially their navigator who almost committed a coup against her captain after they asked her to use their treausure to pay for the high end restaurant bill they had eaten at. Leading to some of their crew to believe that their captain was a runaway noble who got cut of from the family inheritance for being too — Yuu.
Conspiracy theories are crazy these days.
Yuu is permanently banned from Pomfiore. Before Vil and Yuu got together, while they were together, and even after Yuu’s time at the college was over. Yuu would remain permanently banned from even stepping a foot in that dorm.
The reason for this? They had gotten to know Epel in the orientation thanks to him helping Yuu catch their hat which had almost been sent flying due to the fighting that was occurring. This friendship as unlikely as it may have been to others was only the start of an unruly week of chaos that poor Vil had to deal with.
Years later once school was just fond memories — when Yuu anf Vil were finally married these turbulent initial days were nothing but funny memories. However, that was then and this is now. Which means Vil found nothing funny about this situation. He had to physically stop his face from twitching everytime he had the misfortune of being in the prefect’s vicinity.
Yuu would without shame stroll into the dorm and drag Epel around before anybody had to chance to notice the missing first year. Rook did in fact have a field day with the game of hide and seek that only he was aware of. Vil on the other hand was trying his very best to not commit murder on the first week of school.
In the end, however, he had to get involved as he noticed not only was Epel shrinking to his dorm duties but his grades were steadily declining. An intervention from the housewarden was on its way and — it surprisingly went well?
Vil had been ready to have to forcefully bring both to heel, no matter how annoying fighting rubber would have been. However, while Yuu had initially looked eager to fight him as well everything stopped once Vil mentioned the declined performance of Epel in academics.
The housewarden doubted it was that this buffoon had suddenly started caring about classes — as shown by the amount of times they had jumped out of the window in the middle of class. Rather, it seemed like something else had motivated them to cease to Vil’s will.
It was odd. Especially for Vil who was used to the brutes of this school who only knew the rule of the strongest instead of attempting to discuss things out. ( Perhaps it may even be hypocritical of him to state such things considering Vil does enjoy proving his superiority in magic to the brutes around the school — but that would be something that not even in his death bed would he admit )
However, he wouldn’t fight against something that made his life easier. What he wouldn’t know until later was that Yuu had realized that Vil’s action would only aid Epel who had confined with them the importance of school performance for him. As a way to prove that the faith his family had in him had not been for nothing.
Which was why after that phrase Yuu let Epel go. Even slinging him over to Vil.
However while that part would become easier for Vil, he would not be able to predict the effect that his ‘nice’ actions would have on Yuu. Who had previously viewed him as a boring person who only wanted to force Epel to do things he didn’t want now viewed him a little differently.
Differently enough to now treat them as if they were ‘pals’. Great sevens were they like glue that you couldn’t get out of your hair.
It was like switch had been flipped in their head after seeing them help out their friend, *and* figuring out Vil’s ease with positions.
“Hey! You seem pretty cool! Join my crew.” Yuu had exclaimed after seeing Vil’s demonstration of poison in the one class they had decided to attend. It was certainly flattering the awe that was so plainly showed cased while Vil worked on a new experimental potion. He doubted this fool by his side was even aware of anything else about him, but the fact he was Epel’s strict junior.
Yet they were still excitedly babbling about their skills in poison making. To the point of asking him to join their crew. From anybody else Vil would have felt irritation at the idea that somebody like *him* would make a good pirate. However, he doubted that the remaining neuron that was spinning around in Yuu’s head meant it as an insult. Rather, it was as if they wanted him in their crew because he was strong.
Certainly not the usual compliment he received, but it was well received either way.
Until Yuu got too excited and put the wrong ingredient in the pot which caused a chemical emergency in the room. The great seven’s knows that if Crewel saw them again at class again it would be too soon.
From an outside perspective everybody had been waiting for a cease and desist letter. However, that moment that everybody had been waiting for never did came.
And it would have never gone through considered what took place in Halloween and Vil’s overblot.
Once that princess decided to make a show of a poor wedding with *Idia* and make it everybody’s else problem. Something that Vil had no original intention of getting involved with until Ortho decided to threaten everybody there. Something that Yuu seemed to have no trouble with getting involved in. They were more than willing to be involved to help out Ortho’s big brother. Going as far as to promise that they would get him back.
“Your big brother is very important to you right? You must be very worried about not seeing him again too!” Yuu exclaimed with a surprisingly serious look in their face. Before a small smile grew on their face, “But you don’t need to be worried you know? I’ll get him back for you.”
Vil had been behind them while they were having that conversation. It was — sweeter than he ever thought a brute such as Yuu would ever be able to be.
Vil wasn’t sure what that made him feel. But it was too weird to look into it so he shoved it far, far down and tried not to think about the fact that Yuu’s words almost made him willing to offer a hand out for help.
Not that his choice did anything to help him out in the end considering that he was forced to help the other housewarden out. Worst of it all was that Vil couldn’t even go with his original plan of trying to charm the princess. Because in the end minute hands had wrapped around his mid-section and yanked him out of the room fast enough to give him a whiplash.
He would deny it till the day he died but Vil did let out a frightened squeak a second before he was yanked as a ragdoll by Yuu.
Something he had no chance of belittling the prefect for their actions because in the next second he had found himself as an accomplice for a robbery with no other than Yuu.
It was one of the worst things he had ever done! His make up was smudged and he had twigs and mug in his hair for no reason — additionally there was no plan crafted up by the prefect for said ‘robbery’. It was as if luck was the only thing they were relaying on! Vil had only been full of adrenaline and stress the whole time.
And it was — fun. The most fun he had since the start of the year. Being able to accomplish such an outlandish goal of stealing Idia only to have to fight the knights last minute was something he had no idea could feel so euphoric!
( Vil would never know this but Rook would make sure that the secondary planning the students were making to charm the princess did not interfere with Yuu’s and Vil’s actions — seeing his housewarden be so easily elated while doing this left him in awe of his effortless beauty. Enough so that he couldn’t help but make sure it lasted as long as possible. )
In the end Vil hadn’t even been aware why the princess had decided to marry somebody else. As a result of still aiding Yuu out with some knights he wasn’t too sure of the details of the rest of night, and yet he couldn’t be mad about how it turned out at all.
A bright smile stuck in his face while he cleaned himself up. A weary task but one he was enjoying while reminiscing about the night he just had. Only to come out and see Yuu sprawled on his bed *snoring*. At that moment Vil almost did blow a fuse thinking that Yuu had simply plopped themselves down on his bed without washing themselves first only to stop on his tracks as he realized the clothes they were wearing.
It was not the outfit they had wore throughout the night. It was a pair of old fashioned pijamas which the headmaster definitely gave them. Additionally, their hair seemed to be slightly wet — indicating they had just recently washed it to get the mud out.
Vil was pleasantly surprised at seeing this. Considering he was not blind regarding Yuu’s hygienic habits it was surprising to see that they did pay attention when he was nagging them about only coming inside his room if they had taken a shower at least an hour ago.
( Vil did not look deeply as to why he did not mind having Yuu sleep on the same bed as him — just like he did not look too deeply as to why he had a soft smile on his face the rest of the night before settling down and taking a nap right next to Yuu )
And then everything seemed to be tumbling down once Vil remembered what exactly he had been preparing for. The competition, the preparation, and the only chance he had to prove that he was better than Neige! That Vil was above the simple villain role —
And then everything just kept falling apart.
Things weren’t going as they were supposed to and, it was as if everything was going purposely against what he wanted.
Then he saw Neige and Yuu together. For a brief moment he didn’t think anything of it. Perhaps they were introducing one another. Yuu definitely didn’t know who Neige was if they were talking so casually with him so —
Vil could feel something crashing down the floor. It may have been the glass he had at hand or maybe it was the smile he had attempted to glue on for the rest of the day. Either way it didn’t matter.
He felt his cheek grow hot in embarrassment and shame as his palms grew sweaty under his tightened fists. Without looking back he turned around and stormed away from where Neige and Yuu had so obviously been having fun!
It’s not like it matered to him. So what if Yuu was already set on voting for Neige without seeing him perform? So what? Vil didn’t need their vote to win! They were just another amongst the crowd.
Somebody not worth taking note of!
He would shine above the rest and nobody would be able to deny it after this performance! Not Neige, not the paparazzi, and certainly not Yuu!
( Vil did not think about the smudge eyeliner and mascara under his eyes — just like Rook did not ask once he saw the state his housewarden was in. Some matters were just not made to be resolved by a third party, after all )
In the end, the overblot *did* happen. Perhaps worse than it should have been. Considering that out of all the other overblots this one seemed to hurt Yuu the most. Both physically and mentally.
Grim himself had a hard time keeping up with the fight. But he couldn’t help but feel like Yuu was not giving it their own. Somebody like *them* who seemed to always be anticipating the next fight did not look like they were enjoying this fight at all. Rather it looked like they were ready to beg Vil to stop this one. Yet they never did. Yuu seemed to grow more distressed as time passed in the fight, but they never did ask Vil to give up.
Grim would never really understand his henchman. But in this moment he felt further away from understanding them than ever before.
Once the fight was over nobody dared to get too close to Vil who had his head being held up Yuu so he wasn’t completely in the dirty floor.
“You must now view me as quite the ugly individual, huh?” Vil asked while closing his eyes with a resigned look in his face. A look that unknown to him Yuu hated seeing on his face. As such Yuu took their hands and placed them on Vil’s cheeks to squish them both together in annoyance.
“Stupid Vil! Stuuuupid!” They drawled out like a child throwing a tantrum as they squished and pulled at Vil’s cheeks until the housewarden became annoyed enough to slap them away with an annoyed huff.
“Nobody can really compare to Vil you know?” That sentence was so soft that the blonde haired boy almost missed it. He looked up at the prefect who seemed to be trying to put Vil’s hair like it had once looked and felt a smile creeped up to his face.
“Do you swear that to me?” Vil asked with a teasing smile in his face as he gazed at Yuu with an adoring gaze. Yuu blinked down and instead of making a joke out of it like he expected. The student who was looking down at him turned uncharacteristically serious and stated.
Vil let out a startled laugh and closed his eyes with a satisfied sigh. If he had any energy left he would have thrown himself at the person who was still holding his face in their hands. The person who was now holding his heart in their hands.
Months later Yuu would stumble upon a way to get back home thanks to Malleus who had offered his help searching and developing a pathway back home.
Many expected the reunion to be just a tad bit more intense. However what they were a witness to was Yuu clinging to Vil’s back while whining about having to go.
They had agreed on meeting up a year after present day. Vil would have finished school and gotten everything settled for a public hiatus while Yuu should have already gathered a strong enough crew to introduce Vil to. That was what they had both agreed upon. However, both of them seemed surprisingly clingy to one another when the time came for Yuu to go back home.
Not enough to get to tears to be shed, although Vil came close enough for Yuu to tease them about being a crybaby.
But after a while Yuu detached themselves from Vil to begin their way into the portal back home. They said the rest of their goodbyes rather animatedly looking forwards to seeing everybody again while carrying Grim under their arm.
But in the end the last look before they left was directed at Vil who had a bittersweet smile on his face.
“Vil! Get ready okay?!” Yuu shouted with only their head sticking out of the portal causing everybody to yell startled, “We’ll see each other soon!”
Before laughing loudly and completely disappearing onto the portal. On the other hand Vil laughed loudly onto his hand that was over his mouth in an attempt to smoother his chuckles.
Yuu has been stressing this dude out from the very beginning. Because really what type of genius decides to use a floating tablet as a projectile.
Yuu D. Monkey that’s who.
He would have sent the bill to this new imbecile with Ortho had they both not hit it up the moment they met!
‘Ortho! What type of betrayal is this?!’
The worst part came when his little brother decided Yuu would be a good friend for him! Idia had been appreciative of whatever misguided impression his little brother had regarding his stats in the past — but now it was a completely different story!
The worst was that he couldn’t even shake the new NPC off his hair either! It seemed like once they realized he was a “cyborg creator” and “flame-head” their interest had been peaked beyond what anybody — especially Idia — would consider healthy.
Yuu was thrilled at seeing such an interesting individual. Enough so to follow him around wherever he went. Which was unsurprisingly limited consider who they were talking about over here.
Not that it did anything to discourage the perfect’s actions in the present or the near future. It was almost comical how any disapproval from Idia didn’t even go into one ear and out of the other, because it didn’t even register at all! It was as if his ancestors had sent someone with the very intent to test his patience. Did they not know that Idia was almost at his thirteen reason? ( *half of the list being made up of Yuu already* ) Why do they keep testing his will to live? Do they not know it is already as thin as it can be?
What continued to baffle this man was the fact that Yuu just kept coming back. No matter what he said or threw their way it was as if they had infinite determination to achieve their goal of becoming his friend.
This confusion would eventually become mixed with exasperation as through sheer association he got a front seat to every single overblot much to his dismay. Yuu was a trouble magnet! Because really? What are the chances that an event so isolated like an overblot is occurred five times around them!
Which was when he realized that he was dealing with the worst of them all. A main character.
He doesn’t know how it’s possible to have missed the signs! The annoying determination, the way they stand out from the crowd, their beautiful eyes which —
What do Yuu’s eyes have anything to do with this? Without realizing Idia hunched deeper onto himself while his hair flickered with pink flames at their end.
And then a lightbulb lit up on top of his head. The realization of his feeling slowly sunk, like an anchor being dropped to the bottom of the sea floor with no way back up.
“I’m the dumb second-lead?!”
The scream of despair that he would let out would haunt his fellow dorm students for days to come.
Idia knew what was going on now. He was the typical no-good loser of a second lead that would be hopelessly pining after the protagonist while they pine after the first lead!
His aggravation caused his hair to quickly turn into a violent red color while he seethed in his room. Almost like a spooked horse Idia paced in his room from one side to the other while grumbling what many would infer to be long lasting curses onto an unfortunate fool.
On the other hand Ortho was peaking through the door to his big brother’s room while staring at his big brother in confusion.
However, just because Idia was drowning himself in a cup of water didn’t mean Yuu was doing the same. While Idia became more jittery and outright defensive when anybody asked him about his reasons for allowing Yuu to be so close. Meanwhile Yuu continued as if nothing had happened — which wasn’t too far from the truth. After all for Yuu nothing had changed, and they sure acted like it.
Dragging Idia to different places without any regards for his protests and even clinging to him everytime they saw him in a new place. There was no stopping Yuu from stick close to Idia. No matter what anybody else said.
In the end, Yuu was an unstoppable force that did not bother to attempt to understand what Idia’s mindset conjured up to avoid a relationship with them. Which was why in a sunny day like any other Yuu asked Idia to be with them for years to come. Didn’t even bother to ask like a normal person. Rather, they would ask it casually while walking next to Idia.
Who would almost burn the courtyard down with his panic.
Fast forward two days later and Ortho was the happiest boy Night Raven College had ever seen. Bragging about his big brother’s achievement to anybody unfortunate enough to be in his near vicinity.
Many were baffled at this unexpected couple ( Crowley and Grim ), others were judging at their full extent ( Riddle and Ace ), and others found this situation beyond hilarious ( Lilia alongside Leona )
This relationship came out of the left field for many. It was like seeing the moon and the sun interact — they had nothing in common! Much to Yuu’s confusion who seemed to expect everybody around them to be on their same wavelength.
Everything seemed to be going well until the inevitable happened.
To tell the truth Yuu does not remember very well what took place. Their tunnel vision was the worst than it had ever been once they realized that their friends had been captured by their lover!
Anybody who was near Yuu at those moments still remember the blank look on their face as they raced against time to get to Idia.
Truly it had been a race against time to get to Idia before Yuu started causing a ruckus by themselves instead of trying to follow the infiltration tactic they attempted at the beginning.
Said plan lasted approximately two minutes once Yuu decided they were going too slow.
However, they weren’t present for what took place afterwards. Yuu made sure to confront Idia alone — something that suprised absolutely nobody considering the relationship between the two — so those who attempted to aid Yuu and the captured students were not a witness to Idia’s overblot, what took place with ortho, and they sure as hell didn’t hear the shouted words from Yuu at their lover.
If they had been there they would have probably avoided mentioning it to anybody else. After all, it seemed like Yuu and Idia had a very obvious similarity between the two.
A tragic similarity that nobody should share.
Those two had shared the wound they had never quite healed to each other. Both Yuu and Idia would not say they have completely gotten over their perspective loss, nor would they say that it had gotten significantly better. But, finally allowing themselves to explore the memories they had with their brothers healed something that they weren’t aware of, and perhaps that was the most important step to healing.
Those two seemed to have settle into a more easy rhythm in their relationship afterwards. Although there were still some disagreements between the two it was almost like the relationship had finally settled down. Which was an odd thing to say when those two were involved.
Once the time to leave finally came. Many of the students Yuu had met gathered to see them off. Something that vaguely reminded them of the old village they grew up with, and the day they left to follow their dreams.
Many seemed to be trying to act unbothered at the take off — some succeeded while others failed pathetically.
Considering both Deuce and Ace had snot and tears streaming down their faces it wasn’t too hard to figure out which was which.
That was how it was supposed to end.
But many noticed the glaringly obvious extra two guests that also seemed to be holding bags.
“Yo! Idia and Ortho don’t tell me you guys ate also leaving!?”
Whoever screeched the question was lost in the confusion of the crowd who had not expected those two to also be going with Yuu. It just didn’t align with the view of Idia that many had in their mind. Making such a drastic decision such as leaving to another world just to follow Yuu seemed excessive to many.
The larger shroud sibling hunched onto himself while muttering to himself at the dumb response that was given by the crowd.
“Dumb NPC’s who aren’t even aware whether the sky is blue or not butting in others people game…”
Ortho giggled happily then put himself between his brother and the rest of the students who had heard the not so quiet mutters of his brother to do damage control.
“What my brother means to say is that all school matters have been taken care of alongside the aproval of the headmaster and our parents!” He said with a cheery tone and celebration confetti for extra celebration, “He appreciates your worries.”
“I don’t know if I would use the word concern.” Leona snarked with a lazy smirk finding the situation hilarious now that it didn’t affect him.
Riddle seemed to have gone into another plane of existence after hearing such a reckless decision. Almost going to reprimand the two had it not been for Trey who with a shake of his head advices against it.
“Shishishi! Both Ortho and Idia are going to be my first crew members!” Yuu said with a cheery smile that stretched their cheeks beyond what many would consider realistically possible.
“I didn’t think the life of the pirate was your calling Idia.” Azul commented while adjusting his glasses with a mocking smirk. Which earned him a disgusted scoff from Idia who simply rolled his eyes and impatiently tapped his foot.
“I’ll bring them back once I become the Pirate King!”
“You can keep those two for a little longer…”
“What was that you low-tier worm?!”
( Meanwhile somewhere in the college Crowley would stare at the paperwork he had not signed in his desk that authorized…dimensional travel for Shroud’s fourth year? What.)
Yuu actually didn’t find him all that interesting apart from his horns. They reminded Yuu of beetles! Which initially had them more than just a little excited to know if Malleus was part insect only to be severely disappointed when the answer was a cut dry, “No.”
“Lameee.” Yuu dragged out as they plopped themselves down onto the dirt. Their shoulders hunched down as they pouted at the information. Malleus was confused at this reaction.
Initially he had become annoyed at being compared to an insect out of all things until he realized the human in front of him had seemed genuinely excited for such probability. Could this be a new human lingo he didn’t understand? Had he received a compliment and didn’t realize?
With curiosity now brimming in his eyes Malleus slightly leaned down to be closer to the child of man in front of him to inquire about the their fascinations with these insects.
“What?! You don’t know about them horn-guy?!” It seemed as if they were spooked at the mere idea of not properly appreciating beetles.
They quickly stood up and walked closer to Malleus who startled by the ruckus leaned backwards and blinked rapidly at the human in front of him who was now excitedly talking about their interest in beetles.
Only to see Yuu deflate and regretfully mention they had not come across many of them on their stay in this “mystery school”. Malleus put his hand under his shin and looked at the haunted dorm behind the child of man and considered the most obvious reason for this.
“It is probable your abode has been the house of the dead for too long; enough that even insects can feel repelled by it.”
Yuu looked at him with a blank look — and was that steam coming out of their *ears?* Before their face lit up and they ex maimed with excitement at finally understanding Malleus overly complicated wording.
“So, they are scared of this shabby place!” Yuu exclaimed before rapidly looking around at the forest that surrounded their house and taking off to find other beetles with Malleus being dragged right behind them.
“You don’t seem to be all that bad horn-guy! I’ll show you how to best catch them!” Yuu exclaimed excitedly as they dragged around what could be considered one of the strongest mages in all of Twisted Wonderland as if he was just a nobody they picked up from the street. However, said prince seemed to be more than just accepting of his new fate; rather, he looked excited at what he would consider an invitation to spend time with this child of man.
( “Lilia what does it mean for a human to call you insect?”
“Malleus it is important that we talk about bullying—”)
That seemed to become their main bonding activity as time went on. Yuu would wait impatiently for ‘horn-guy’ to show up so they could go to the forest and look for beetles. Enough times that Malleus would one day showcase his unnatural strength in front of Yuu. Who instead of being scared would look excited at the prospect of having someone that strong by their side. Enough so that they almost leaped at the chance to ask for a fight.
An interaction which still left Malleus baffled to this age. Who in their right mind would ask him for a spar?
Although he declined it didn’t mean he wasn’t witness to Yuu’s unique powers. He had never, in his hundreds of years of living, seen somebody stretch and bend in such a way. No spell or special magic that he has ever witnessed show something of similar feat being done. It was as outstanding as it was eeiry.
It was as if the laws of physics bended to allow Yuu to do what they were doing whenever they wanted to do it. Malleus’ eyes shined with a excited gleam as he thought about the different practical ways these abilities could be put to use.
Both of them seemed quite excited to spend time with the other. Although for slightly different reasons. Yuu was estatic to meet someone this strong in this mystery world ( they wondered if he had ever considered piracy as a career? ) meanwhile Malleus was gleaming with joy at the prospect of spending time with the child of man who made every day exciting!
In the end Yuu would end up joining Malleus’ club simply because it allowed them to do what they wanted to do. Both of them would simply go searching after what they wanted to see in abandoned buildings and deep forests that were off-limits for students.
Let it be known that Malleus found every shenanigan that Yuu ran into to be the funniest thing ever. He won a medal in enabling with the amount of support he showered Yuu in. Although that’s probably because he wasn’t present in many of the fights Yuu got involved in. He probably wouldn’t have found it as funny if he had seen his friend being smacked around by the other students.
Both of them acted like the other was a regular person. Malleus ignored every side glance that Yuu received as they exclaimed their dream to be the pirate king, or the inhumane amount of food they stuffed in their mouth, or even the amount of walls that were broken down at school when they got into a fight. Meanwhile Yuu found it hilarious how much of a scary cat crybaby everybody turned into when Malleus was nearby, although they also didn’t care about any gripes anybody else had with their friend if Yuu wanted to invite their friend to hang out with them then nobody else had a say in it.
They were both terrorizing the average student population without knowing everytime they were together.
Both of these started acting like a couple before anybody else did. However, at the same time they took the longest to acknowledge it.
But the time Malleus was able to understand Yuu better was through his overblot. Had he been any other person he would have claimed Yuu was also able to understand him better after seeing what his own dreams were about, but the fae prince had a nagging suspicion in the back of his mind that Yuu had already understood him better than majority.
His child of man was far brighter than many gave them credit for, after all.
What he saw in Yuu’s dream before they had been forcefully woken up was quite enlightening for him. A world were two other boys stood by their side — one with freckles and a blinding grin while the other one with blonde locks and scheming eyes — while they sailed into an adventure after the other.
It had almost been enough to distract him from the fact that Yuu had decided to start smashing their way into other’s dream trying to find him.
A chaotic night for all of the inhabitants of the island, but especially Grim who was the unfortunate witness to whatever weird tension those two had between each other. The little furball would have preferred to keep dreaming about the wonders of tuna than being given the task to wake the others up while Yuu sprinted after their little lover.
Not that they would resolve whatever those two had until much, much later.
It wasn’t until Yuu was about to leave that Malleus found the courage to ask — no, demand of them to be officially romantically involved with one another. Much to the apprehension of Sebek who turned white and almost fainted had it not been for Lilia who steadied him with one hand and fanned his face with the other.
“Don’t be silly Malleus! We are already together are we not?” Yuu asked with a grin. Both of them knew it wasn’t the time just yet to leave together. Malleus had responsibilities to take care of and Yuu claimed, ‘They aren’t able to beat all of their guards just yet to be able to steal Malleus away.’
So it wasn’t the time just yet. But that didn’t mean that it wouldn’t occur. Yuu had given their word to the Prince Fae that they would come back to steal them away from his tower, and one thing they wouldn’t do was break their word.
“I bide you farewell beloved—I would wish you good luck but I sincerely doubt you’ll need it.” Malleus stated with a small smile and soft eyes that shined brighter than any star Yuu had any witnessed in either dimension.
Lilia look between the two and a small shine in his eye spoke of melancholy as he watched the two lovers bide each other a farewell.
“Shishishi! I’ll be back soon so don’t get too sad okay Malleus?!” Yuu shouted as they waved their arm excitedly at Malleus who smiled a little wider and breathed just a little more shakily.
