â â â â â â â â â â â AURORA
â â â â â â Kingâs Landing University, Freshman Year
Months have passed since Aurora's encounter with the man that had saved her from the doom of getting lost in such an unfamiliar building.
It is safe to say that not once has she stepped foot in that construction ever again. Out of fear that she might lose her way once more.
It was now the midst of their finals weekâstressed out university students were scattered all over the campus of King's Landing University.
Aurora had made friends during her first semester as a nursing student at the institution. Which, coincidentally, were cousins.
But she paid it no mind as both were also as close as best friends.
She had agreed, of course. She prefers to study with people whom she can explain the study materials to. Unlike her solo study sessions at her flat where she explains the concepts to either her wall, or her stuffed toy, and looking like a schizophrenic woman.Â
During the passed months of her freshman year on campus; with her overwhelming adjustment to a new environment, foreign faces, an unfamiliar place, and the very stressful college coursesâAurora had paid little mind to the man with contrasting eye colors and a head full of brown locks and a streak of white within it.
Not once had she seen that familiar stranger ever again throughout those months.
Perhaps due to her refusal to step foot in the Business Building?
One might never know.
Nevertheless, it is clear to say that she has forgotten the face of the friendly stranger that had saved her from hours of walking all over that building.
She had put her phone away and she was just mindlessly wandering her eyes through her surroundings, thinking about everything and nothing at the same time.
Up until she made eye contact with a stranger, and at the same time, she had remembered a distant memory of her old friend tripping down the last three-steps of the stairs.
Aurora had laughedâout loud, all alone, at nothingâwhile looking directly at a stranger straight in the eyes.
The strangerâwho seemed to also be a student, with dark long hair tied back, paired with hazel eyesâhad been smiling with his friends, before his face had dropped after Aurora had laughed while looking at him.
Aurora's face had also dropped, giving the man a slight smile and looking away as she passes him.
She felt the pair of eyes looking at her as she passed by, and she had, once again, pulled her phone out due to discomfort of the situation.
Auroraânow flustered and immensely embarrassedâimmediately messaged her friends.
Except for the one Aurora had spotted in a cornerâa table with four chairsâthen proceeded to claim before anyone else could.
She had put her purse down, and took out her wallet. Deciding to order herself coffee while waiting for her friends. She knew she was going to buy more once they had arrivedâone cup of coffee was never enough for Aurora when studying.
After getting her hot cup of caramel macchiato, she had proceeded to sit down at the table.
Upon sitting down, Aurora had once again pulled out her phone to face the catastrophe of her embarrassment once again.
As Aurora had seen Matarys's responseâwhich was just laughing at her, and their whole overall reactions making her feel even more flusteredâa voice had called out.
"Excuse me, Miss?" The masculine voice had said beside her.
Aurora turns her head and lifts it up to see the man, who looked... familiar for some particular reason that she could not put her finger on.
"Yes?" She asks, "Is there anything you need?"
"I was wondering if one of your seats are occupied?" The man starts, "I only wish to ask if it is alright with you if I sit for a few moments? The other seats are occupied, and I need to pass the time while I wait for my next lecture to start." He says.
Aurora immediately gestured to the chair in front her, "Oh no, go ahead!" She says, "I am only waiting for my friends to arrive, which could take for a few more moments. You can stay as much as you'd like." She smiles.
The man smiled back at her and proceeded to put his satchel on the table and took a seat across Aurora, "Thank you." He says.
He then uncapped his take-out cup of coffee and poured a packet of sugar.
Aurora, in turn, had fumbled trying to uncover the drinking hole of the lid. Before taking occasional sips of her coffee.
The memories and unwavering thoughts regarding her embarrassment from earlier was still clear in her head. It took almost all of her might to stop herself from groaning out loud.
This, of course, did not go unnoticed by the man in front of her. Watching her fumble over the cover of her cupâs drinking hole, her eyes obviously avoiding his own as though she was overwhelmed with her thoughts and she was embarrassed.
âApologies,â He starts, âI do not mean to pry.â He says, âBut are you alright?â He asks, âIf I may have made you uncomfortable in any way, I deeply apologize. It is no issue for me to move.â He worries.
Aurora then finally looked at the man, putting down her cup of coffee, and shaking her head and hands simultaneously as a form of refusal and reassurance.
âNo, please, it is not your fault.â She says, âApologies if I had given you the wrong impression.â She furrows her brows, âIt was nothing that youâve done.â She reassures him, âItâs just thatâŠâ She pauses, âI have done something incredibly humiliating just moments ago.â
The manâs previously tense posture had lessened, relieved from Auroraâs reassurance. Though, slight concern still remained on his features, âWhat happened that caused such discomfort for you?â He asks, âYou can tell me. I find myself to be a good listener.â He says softly
Aurora had hesitated for several minutes, her desire to protect herself from further humiliation at war with her need to relieve herself of the tension sheâs been holding.
Until she took a deep breathâto calm herselfâand finally surrendered to the comforting presence of the stranger she deems familiar but does not know from what or where.
The man, who had attentively listened to her talk and rant with a controlled expression and without interrupting, slowly started smiling.
âWell, that certainly is an eccentric experience.â He says, unfolding his hands.
Aurora groaned, covering her face, âHe probably thinks Iâm weird, or schizophrenic, or mad.â She mumbles through her palms.
The man had then chuckled, âJust because you had an eccentric experience does not mean you are all alone in having them.â He says, âSo what if he thought you âweirdâ? Everyone is weird if that is the case.â He comforts her, âPlus, I do not think he took that interaction too seriously. Maybe strange, yes, but anyone would think that.â He says, âAnd we are all university students, there are bigger things he would probably be worrying about than a girl laughing and smiling at him while walking. You truly have nothing to worry about too much.â He says, âBut your feelings are still valid nonetheless.â
Aurora had then looked up from her hands, curling them into soft fists and lightly pressing them against her lips, and looked at the man.
âReally?â She asked softly, doubt still simmering in her mind.
âYes, we all have our own embarrassing moments.â He smiles at her, âIâm sure after days, or even hours, have passed, you will just laugh at the memory.â
Aurora had thought for a few minutes, before realizing he was right.
âYeah, I really would.â She says, a light smile on her lips.
âPrecisely.â He said softly, smiling back.
There was a slightly short pause.
âThank you.â Aurora says, âTruly. You helped a lot.â
The manâs face had relaxed, âIt was no problem.â He says.
Then a long, comforting silence had stretched between them.
Both Aurora and the man were just looking at one otherâas though trying to study each otherâs faces, and deducing each otherâs light expressions.
The silence was charged as Auroraâs eyes roamed all over the manâs face.
Then she looked him in the eyes; his unique, contrasting eye colors that she now had just noticed.
âWhy does he look so familiar?â She asks herself.
âWhere do I know you from?â Aurora wanted to ask him, but refrained herself.
The man, in turn, had looked like he was trying to study each freckle on Auroraâs face.
âWho are you?â Aurora kept thinking, âWhy do you look like youâre sculpted by the gods themselves?â She thought, âAm I just imagining you? Are you real?â She doubts.
The comforting tension was then cut off as she went and pinched herself in the arm, and the man looked at the analog watch resting on his left wrist.
The manâs expression had returned to a controlled expression as he had realized the time, âIt seems I am now required to go to my lecture.â He says.
Auroraâwho had been shocked by her own pinchâperked up and said, âOh, of course.â She says.
âThank you for letting me sit with you as I pass the timeâŠ?â He pauses, indicating that he was trying to get her name as he held his hand out.
Aurora immediately got the message and took his hand, âAurora.â She says.
âWell, thank you, Aurora, for the wonderful conversation.â He says as he stands up to gather his things.
âIt was nice to meet you, and thank you again for the therapy session.â She jests.
The man had chuckled, before slinging his satchel over his shoulder.
They had looked at each otherâs eyes once again, as if waiting for one another to speak.
Until Auroraâs phone had vibrated on the table, once again cutting off their silent communication.
âWell, then, goodbye, Aurora.â He smiles, âI hope to see you again somewhere in this campus.â
Aurora smiled back, âYes, indeed. Goodbye.â She waves.

â â â â â â â â â â â AURORA
â â â â â Kingâs Landing University, Freshman Year
Aurora Arryn has never been one to take feelings lightly, which could be the reason why she took in pursuing medicine as her career.
Nursing school was one of the only things she takes so seriously in her life, her expectations for herself could only be achieved if she succeeds in her dream career.
The high reward of her acceptance at King's Landing University was stemmed from her sleepless nights and endless efforts in excelling her academics in secondary school, her admission letters, and her extracurricular activities.
Her first year at King's Landing University was, more or less, a life-changing experience.
Upon entering the campus almost as big as the Vale, she had realized that she was only a speck of dust floating in the vastness of space across the world.
Which is to say; she had gotten lost on her first few days of staying at the university.
She had come from the campus library to collect her library card for future study sessions once the semester starts. But then she had lost her way trying to find the Nursing Building, now seemingly ending up at the Business Building.
She was mindlessly wandering around the unfamiliar construction trying to find her way out, or at least to find a campus staff to lead her the way.
Aurora was almost convinced that her curse was her lack of directionality.
She had acted like she was not internally panicking as she passes less than a handful of business students in the corridorâpeople who know the whole building like the backs of their hands.
'I wish that were me at this very moment.' She had thought.
She continued walking along the corridor, looking at a sign mounted at the wall, indicating which rooms and halls were at. Trying to find a word that would help her towards the exit.
Until a voice behind her had called out in the midst of the lightly echoing hall.
"Excuse me, Miss?" A masculine voice had called
Aurora had turned her head towards the direction of the voice, assuming that the person may be calling for her.
She was correct, of course. The man was looking at her.
Her attention had then been fully set on the tall man standing a few meters from her in the middle of the now empty corridor.
"Yes?" Aurora blinked, "May I help you?" She asked.
The man let out a small, polite smile, "You seem lost, perhaps I shall help you on your way to your destination?" He says.
"Is it that obvious?" Aurora chuckles, in which the man had let out a breathy laugh in return, she turns her body to fully face the man, "I do not wish to bother you, I assume you have other errands to get to." She says.
The man shook his head, "My errands have been completed for the day. I do not mind helping a person in distress." He smiles, "Now, would you tell me where you wish to go?"
Aurora had now completely surrendered, her helplessness was making her desperate to leave this unfamiliar building and to get to where she was supposed to go.
"Fine," She smiles, "I am looking for a way to the Nursing Building."
The stranger had then raised his brows and smiled wider, "Ah! The Nursing Building is west to ours, perhaps I should walk you there to ensure you get there successfully." He says, "Only if you are comfortable and okay with it, of course."
Aurora let out a small smile that was supposedly only meant for her, her own body betraying her as she had thought of how cute the man had acted upon asking for her consent to walk her to the Nursing Building.
"I don't mind." She smiles, taking a few steps closer to the man, still keeping a reasonable distance between one another.
The steps closer had helped her notice the striking difference in the colors of the man's eyes. One blue, as though she is looking into the deep waters of the ocean, and the other pooling brown, like the earth.
'Unique.' Aurora had thought, as it was her first encounter with a person as peculiar as their eye colors.
She did not verbally point it out, though. She had considered it too forward and improper to bring up one's difference in eye colorâshe deemed it irrelevant to the conversation.
The man's slightly tense posture had moderately loosened, relieved that he had not made the girl uncomfortable with his unintentional forwardness.
"Good." He smiles, "Let me walk you the way, then."
The man gestures with his hand and waits until Aurora had fallen step next to him before he starts walking westâtowards the direction of the Nursing Building.
"How come you had gotten lost in the Business Building?" He asks.
Aurora's eyes wandered over the man's features, seemingly noticing the streak of silver on the side of his brown-dominated head of hair.
She had thought he could not be more peculiar aside from his contrasting eye colors. She had been proven wrong.
In rare occasions such as this one, she was not upset to be proven wrong.
Aurora had then comprehended the man's question, "I had collected my library card from the campus library." She starts, "But then I had lost my way trying to get back to the Nursing Building. Ending up in here." She chuckles at her venture in getting lost in a building she was not supposed to be.
The man attentively listens and watches as she talks, explaining why she had been in the Business Building all along.
"I reckon you're a freshman? A lot of them tend to get lost in the campus. I once did when I was a freshman myself." The man had said.
Aurora had felt a slight delight in the knowledge that she was not alone in getting lost in the campus almost as big as her homeland.
The man smiles at Aurora's shocked expression, "It was my first day here. I was trying to find my Finance professor to submit my application for his course." He recalls, "But then I had completely forgotten my way, as you have just now. I kept trying to talk to the staff, but they just kept pointing towards the wrong directions." He chuckles as he recalls the memory, "I ended up just finding my own way out. It took me two hours."
Aurora had then been completely shocked with the man's story, "Gods," She whispers, "No wonder you only got lost once. You practically memorized the whole building during those two hours." She says in half-wonder and half-exasperation.
The man had let out a laugh, "Precisely." He says, smiling down at the girl walking by his side.
A short silence had lived between them, not too long so as to make either uncomfortable, but short enough to seem that both Aurora and the man were thinking of what to say next.
âSo, Nursing-â
âYou mentio-â
Both of them had started speaking at the same time, and also paused at the same beat.
Then the pair had started laughing in the midst of walking west, the corridor feeling stretched with the length of their walk.
Aurora found herself to not mind. This stranger of a man had been pleasing to talk to since the start.
âOh, sorry.â She says, smiling.
âApologies, what were you saying?â The man says in return.
âNo, please, go ahead first.â She insists.
âLadies first, it seems we have more time at hand to ask each other questions. Please, ask away.â He says with a smile.
What Aurora did not know, though, was that the man had felt the same.
Aurora smiled softly at the man, âAlright, then.â She says, âYou mentioned you were once a freshman. What year are you in now?â She asks, âI must know if the man who had saved me from the maze of a building is about to be a friend thatâs graduating in a year.â She jests.
The man let out a soft laugh, âNo, erm, I am not graduating yet.â He says, âI am a sophomore. So you might be seeing more of me in the next couple of years.â
âAh, alright then.â Aurora smiles back, âI do suppose I would not be seeing you as often without getting lost at this building once again.â
The man chuckles, âI hope not.â
Aurora then looked at the manâs face, âWhat were you about to ask?â She questioned.
âI was just wondering why you chose Nursing as your major.â He says, âIs there someone who had inspired you to get into healthcare?â
It was then Auroraâs turn to softly smile, âI am taking Nursing as my Pre-Medical School major. I have been wanting to be a doctor since I was all but seven.â She recalls at her childhood dream, âDo you know anyone in healthcare?â
âMy brother is also taking Nursing, he is a freshman as well. Maybe you will meet during lectures if you took the same courses.â He says.
âWell, then I shall make sure to spot a man with the same brown locks.â Aurora says.
âI doubt you will find my brother in that way. A lot of people tend to point out how different we look from one another.â He jests.
âAh, then we shall pray to the seven that we cross paths instead. Whoever he is.â She jests back.
The two had shared a chuckle, another set of silence joining them.
âAsk for his name.â Aurora had told herself in her head, âHave at least one friend in this campus today.â
She ignored her own thoughts, of course. She found herself too shy to simply ask the stranger beside her for something so simple as his name.
The two of them had now stepped feet out of the Business Building, the Nursing Building finally coming to Auroraâs view.
They then stopped in front of said construction that Aurora had desired to get to all along.
âWell, here we are.â The man says, âIt was a pleasure to talk to you.â
Aurora let out a smile, âI thought we were never going to get out of that.â She jests, âIt was nice talking to you as well, stranger.â
The man returned her smile, âI hope you do not get lost in our building anymore.â He says, âI would not want you to experience what I had.â
They both shared a chuckle, âTrust that I would not be stepping foot in that building unless I want to be lost in such a maze again.â
The manâs smile had softened, âWell, it was nice to meet you, Miss. That was the least boring, and most pleasant conversation I have had all day.â He offers his hand.
Aurora took his hand and shook it, âIt was nice to meet you too, it is nice to hear from a stranger that I was pleasant to talk to.â She jests, âI had a pleasant conversation with you as well.â
Their hands had dropped to their sides.
âIâll see you around, then.â She says.
âYes, have a safe venture to your flat.â He smiles.
âLikewise. Goodbye, and thank you.â She smiles back.
âIt was my pleasure. Goodbye.â He waves.
She waves back and started walking towards the direction she now recognizesâthe walk towards her flat.
She had assumed that the man, too, had gone his way.
She did not know that his eyes lingered on her disappearing figure, with a soft smile on his face, ensuring that she leaves the campus safely.
Before turning around and going his way to depart as well.

â° Synopsis Could Connor be happier this season because of a girl?
tags/contains Connor Bedard x fem!reader. Fluff, established relationship, happy Connor happy life.
âș from Sera, to youđš. Requested. In none way Iâm saying that Connor is happy this season because he has a girlfriend, this is just fictional. But he will be way more happier in life when he finds ME. đ
masterlist ᄫᥠplease reblog this fic if you enjoyed it!
It started at the end of last season, quietly and unexpectedly, and without any of the noise that usually followed Connor.
He met you when the air still carried that sharp edge of winter, the kind that clung to your breath and made the inside of the rink feel even colder.
You werenât the kind of person who fussed over hockey players. You didnât ask for pictures or autographs, didnât treat him like he was something unreachable.
To you Connor was just a boy who smiled at the sound of your laugh and who couldnât quite believe how easy it was to talk to you.
From that first conversation, something shifted in him.
You became like the soft hum of a song you canât get out of your head. You fit into his life before he could even realize what was happening. Late night facetimes, morning texts, little notes in his duffel bag when you visited Chicago. You became a part of his days in the simplest, most natural way.
And by the time the season rolled over into summer and training camp loomed ahead, Connor was different.
Not unrecognizably so, he was still focused, still driven, still that same perfectionist who studied tape like it was oxygen. But there was something lighter about him now.
And it showed most when he came home and even when playing, on cameras.
Last season, after a tough game, Connor used to carry that heaviness with him: quiet, frustrated, locked inside his own head. But now, when he walked through the door, it was like all that weight melted the moment he saw you.
Even on nights the score didnât go his way, heâd smile as soon as you greeted him, his shoulders softening when your arms wrapped around his waist.
âYou played great,â you tell him, voice muffled against his chest.
He chuckled softly, resting his chin on your hair. âDid I? We lost.â
âYeah,â you mumbled, âbut you still played great.â
And that was it, he would laugh quietly, that little laugh that a few people got to hear, and press a kiss to your forehead.
Most nights, he would find you curled on the couch, and without a word, heâd sink down beside you, pulling you into his lap.
The game replays might still hum from the tv, but his hands would be tracing lazy circles on your back, his voice soft as he told you about a funny thing that happened in the locker room.
He never came home angry or grumpy anymore, never distant. He couldnât be when you were there waiting for him, looking at him like he was more than just what the scoreboard said.
It became this quiet ritual: your hand in his hair, his laughter breaking through the silence, the two of you tucked against each other until the world felt simple again. Itâs like you were his reset button.
Sometimes he wondered how he ever went without that.
The guys in the locker room noticed before anyone else.
âBedsyâs in a good mood lately,â one of them joked, grinning across the room after a morning skate. âWhatâs got you smiling all the time, man?â
Connor just shrugged, a smile tugging at his lips. âGuess Iâve got good reason to be.â But he didnât elaborate.
It wasnât that he was hiding you, he wasnât. He just liked the quietness of what you two had. The privacy of knowing that this was something untouched by the outside world.
The fewer people who knew the details, the better. The relationship didnât need to be paraded around, because it was real in all the ways that mattered.
Still, it was impossible to ignore how much you changed him.
The cameras caught it anyway. The smiles during warmups. The playful glances toward his teammates when he scored. The way he lit up in interviews, not just answering questions, but genuinely happy to be there.
Almost everybody had noticed.
When the official Chicago Blackhawks tiktok account filmed a video, asking the players questions.
They asked each player who their emergency contact was. Some answered âmy mom,â others âmy roommate.â But when they asked the same question to Connor, his answer came immediately.
âProbably my girlfriend,â he said with that soft, almost shy smile.
He was completely, helplessly, beautifully in love with you.
Every game felt different for him now.
When you were in the arena, he could always find you. It didnât matter how far up you were sitting or how loud the crowd got, he always knew where to look.
One glance from you, one smile, and his chest felt like it was glowing. The world could blur, the game could stretch on forever, but as long as you were there, everything felt right.
And when you couldnât be there, he played for you anyway.
He knew you were watching from home, probably wearing his clothes, probably curled up under a blanket. The thought alone was enough to make him want to play better. Not because you asked him to, you never did, but because he wanted to give you something to be proud of.
You never told him to score. You never said, you have to be better. You just said, I love watching you play. You look happiest when youâre doing what you love.
That was all it took.
He didnât realize how much that mattered until you came along. Everyone in his life had always pushed him: coaches, reporters, fans, even himself. But you? You never demanded perfection. You just believed in him.
It made him want to be better anyway.
It made him want to work harder, to skate faster, to smile wider after every goal, knowing that somewhere out there, you were smiling too.
After practices, heâd hum while taking off his gear. Heâd text you little updates between meetings. He would facetime you before bed, his voice soft as he asked about your day.
And when the lights of the United Center dimmed after another win, he would think of you, how you would probably be cheering through the screen, how you made every long day feel a little easier.
He didnât talk about it publicly. There were no social media posts, no interviews about his âgirlfriend.â But people didnât need confirmation to know he was in love. It was written all over his face.
It showed in the way he carried himself.
The way his laughter came easier. The way he spoke with more warmth. The way he started to look like a kid who wasnât just chasing success, but actually enjoying it.
His teammates teased him sometimes too, of course. âGotta say, Bedsy, youâre a lot less grumpy this year.â, âI think love looks good on you, man.â
He just grinned and shook his head, cheeks faintly red, refusing to feed into it. But later, in the quiet of his apartment, he smiled at his phone, your text lighting up the screen and he knew he was definitely deep in it.
There were moments when he missed you more than he could admit. When road trips stretched too long and the nights got too quiet.
But even then, your presence lingered. He scrolled through your photos, listen to the little voice messages you sent, laugh at your silly late night thoughts. You were always there, even when you werenât.
You made everything feel steadier. The pressure, the expectations, the noise: it all felt smaller when you were around. You reminded him that he was allowed to breathe and to rest.
You reminded him that he was enough, even when the goals didnât come, even when the headlines werenât kind.
And he loved you for that.
When he saw you waiting for him after a game, standing near the player exit with a smile on your face that never failed to make him smile.
He walked up, hair messy from his helmet, trying to catch his breath and your hand would find his without any doubt.
âProud of you,â you whispered, like you always did.
He grinned, the grin reaching his eyes and he knew if his teammates caught a sight of this, they would shake their heads fondly.
Because yeah, maybe the season was going well, maybe the team was finally clicking, and maybe the fans were starting to see the promise theyâd been waiting for. But maybe it was because of you.
When I was âI want himâ about a male character im not saying I wanna fuck him. I want him like a spoiled little girl wants a pony, I want to him so I can put him on my shelf for safekeeping, I want him like a good hearty stew on a winterâs evening, I want to put him in a jar and shake it.
