“The second war? Er, well I guess this is the second if you count Grindewald’s but Hogwarts remained pretty untouched by that….” Dex trailed off, still examining the now useless passageway, before registering the decidedly feminine tone of voice that answered him and turning around. His eyes trailed over her once, twice before he found his voice again, “Oh, ah, hi.” He chuckled (Merlin, she was pretty), shaking his head, “Much as I hate to disagree with a beautiful girl, you must have the wrong night or the wrong bar. I’d have definitely noticed someone like you lighting up that dusty old shack. Actually—-” His eyes narrowed in confusion; with his memory, not recalling ever seeing her before was more than odd, “I haven’t seen you around before, I uh, didn’t know Hogwarts got transfers? I’m Dex.” Regaining his footing, he gave her a charming grin and reached a hand out for her to shake.
Her dimples deepened as she nodded, agreeing with what he was saying even though she didn’t quite understand. He was cute and there wasn’t any harm in playing along for now. If there was an argument over who was right and who was wrong-- there wouldn’t be much time for talking. “The quidditch team won and they had a band and everything last night. It was loads of fun! Or maybe I really did over do it.” She brushed her hair over her shoulder, her smile turning more triumphant than shy. “Dex. It’s nice to meet you.” Dom took his hand, shaking it for longer than she should have. “I know another way....if you want me to show you?”
