Marco Gabriel Jacob Alvarez was born in a family of seven as the middle child, all were very close, valuing family the most out of almost anything. He's spent most of his life in Austin, Texas since he was born not leaving until he was 21 and craved new scenery an to be more independent from how he was at 18, where he lived in an apartment with one of his sister. The two being closeted out of the whole family.
Nothing relationship wise was truly serious until his second job at 18, his first full term job (as at 16 and 17 he's done a couple different part time jobs). He worked at a supermarket and it wasn't the most idea, but it was nice while he was figuring out what he wanted to do in life. It wasn't until he was 23 he realized what he wanted to do, which was be a photographer. This passion took off with his girlfriend he met at work as she wanted to be a model. So they helped each other's careers take off. In the process the two got into a fight and split when Marco decided he wanted to leave Texas finally.
Freshly single, Marco came out to California and started with freelance photography, taking whatever job he could and using money saved from old jobs to get a basic cheap apartment. For a moment, he also got help from family to live, until he got his bartending job at 25, where he still works since. Really enjoying his job. He'll always talk to the patrons, hear their issues or about their days and talk back like they're old friends as he makes them drinks they order. He also makes sure everyone leaves safely.
He didn't get his place in Aurora Bay Drive until he was 27 and was more well off financially with his job and side hustle helping him live better. Marco was always more about living comfortably and he also wanted a big place for the idea of kids and a partner one day. For now his focus is himself and his own well being.
Something else he learned while living in Aurora Bay was his bisexuality. Before working at Sea Foam, he'd just go for drinks himself. While there he met with woman and men, and even lead to hook ups with some and it's how he learned it about himself. It's also why he took a job at the bar when the chance came. The place that helped him learn something new and major about himself.
“My mom has been wanting me to watch a lot of Christmas movies with her right now and I feel like I have seen all of them at this point “ Harris replied with a small smile despite the anxiety and stress he often felt when it came to family matters lately . “ I might need some new suggestions though. Even the ones that seem like they aren’t Christmas movies but actually are. Not Die Hard though. That’s the exception She’s a staunch believer that it doesn’t actually count as one but I’m pretty sure that it’s because it’s an action film and not because of the Christmas setting ”
"Are you not someone that rewatches for traditions or just craving something new?" Marco asked curious, as he sipped at his drink. "I'm tradition based, very much so. I have to watch Merry Christmas Drake & Josh like every year. It's just a thing for me." He chuckled some hearing about Die Hard. "I have to admit, that's my favorite argument. If it's a Christmas movie or not."

"Wow, they totally stole one of my song." Celine said as the music started Good As Hell by Lizzo started playing on the speakers. Karaoke nights was one of her favorite ways to unwind after a crazy week in the OR. She had her lineup well planned and now she was going to make adjustments - which she hated to do.
"I'm sorry to hear that, but maybe you can do it better or there's another song?" Marco suggested as he glanced towards the stage where the person was ready to sing their heart out. He'd not been too much of a singer, it was a hidden talent he kept as such, including playing guitar. It wasn't a thing he showed but he did enjoy seeing others enjoy themselves on this night so he came out sometimes.

"How much do you think it would cost for someone to let me unplug the jukebox?" Will rhetorically asked aloud. He wanted to drink in sullen silence, which perhaps he should have just done at home. "I don't think I can listen to Come On Eileen a fifth time tonight."
Marco looked at the other man and shrugged for a moment, before taking a sip of his own drink. "Is it bad I kind of want to ask about it now?" While he doesn't mind the song himself, he could only hear the same song so many times. Could at least get a different song. Many of them at that. "Yeah, it's getting beyond annoying and I'm not drunk enough to stop caring as much as I'd like." He said as a half joke.

Location: Luxe crystal shop
@aurorabaystarter
Daphne stepped into Luxe with the kind of cautious curiosity usually reserved for unfamiliar medication labels. The place smelled faintly of sage and something floral she couldn’t quite identify, all soft lighting and glittering displays of crystals arranged like they held the secrets of the universe. Not exactly her natural habitat.
She moved slowly past a row of polished stones, reading the labels. Emotional balance, grounding, clarity. If any of these things could be bottled, she would have prescribed them years ago. Still… given the state of her life, she figured she had nothing to lose.
She paused by a shelf of rose quartz towers, frowning at the idea of buying a rock to fix what years of therapy and denial had failed to. Her eyes drifted around the shop, taking in the other customers, the soft hum of chatter, the chime of the front door as someone new stepped inside. Daphne lifted a piece of amethyst, weighing it in her palm with the same clinical detachment she brought to everything else. “Right,” she murmured under her breath, “so which one is supposed to make you stop catastrophising?” Her tone was dry, but not unkind, leaving a clear opening for anyone nearby to answer or correct her.
Marco didn't often go looking at crystals. He enjoyed them and even had the belief they helped some. However, he'd get caught up with other things and he'd kind of forget. So now he had the time and here he was, finally! He missed it and was looking around for some, with a few ideas in mind when he heard a voice near him getting him out of his attention. For a moment he stood there, unsure if she truly wanted an answer or not, with a confused look. For a moment he kept his mouth shut and when back to his own browsing for what he'd like to get, but there was an urge, and he caved.
"Is that a serious question or..?" He asked curiously, a hint of confusion still but he was keeping his friendly demeanor. It was all apart of Marco's nature to be friendly and approachable at the end of the day.
"Santa's an awfully nosy little bitch. He sees you when you're sleeping? He knows when you're awake? Why does he really care so much if you've been naughty or nice? Like, get out of my damn business."
"He's um - he's a bit terrifying if you really think about it. A lot of those songs are actually kinda - messed up." Marco lets out a nervous chuckle. "Makes me weirdly glad we're not on terms anymore." He laughed a bit.
"My boss let me put these up for a little extra cash? Wanna taste one?" She asks with what she hopes is a convincing smile. She hasn't actually tasted them, but they smell good and she's taking that as a good sign.
"I um - sure." Marco hesitated briefly as he wasn't expecting the ask, but he wouldn't pass up helping out with a taste test. "Did you try it yourself at all? I always heard it's nice to try what one makes." He was no chef or anything, but he'd always taste as he goes, make sure it's good, wanting it to at least taste good.

“ I didn’t even realize I had won anything that night? I kind of didn't notice people were voting“ sully admitted as he took a seat at the bakery between deliveries. He wasn’t trying to win anything to be honest and was just sort of having to make use of the costume his little sister wanted him to wear. The fact he hadn't seen the voting was because he literally hadn't been able to see out of is costume most of the night “ What do you think about putting the money aside to use on Sera. It was her idea after all and it would be nice to give her something extra on Christmas? “ he asked hoping it was a good idea. He never bought things for himself and maybe he should but this was a win that only happened because of is little sisters input
"It has to be really cool to have won though, right?" Marco used to love stuff like that as a kid - getting into costumes and voting and trying to win. Now he just dressed up for himself and would forget to post such. With a grin hearing the idea, he easily gave a nod. "I think you should, it'd be a great idea. Have you told her that her costume idea helped you win?" He himself was a giving person too. Marco always thought of others first and wanted to help make their days better as that made his own easily better.
Kate stared at him, her expression not shifting as he spoke. "When did I ask to hear about your life story?" If anyone hadn't had the fortunate meeting of her before, they wouldn't know that her rude tone wasn't programmed to convey the same meaning. Unfortunately, that was just Kate.
"When did I give it?" he spoke back with a slight grin for a moment, before adding, "you wish you could have my life story." He laughed some before clearing his throat. "That's for me, only, but um, okay. So what about an ear?" Marco's mind was still on foods that could look a lot like body parts, it worked well for the spooky them.
“ because I’m not the most liked person professionally “ Juno admitted. She didn’t hide who she was or what she did. there way no way to play this off like it was nothing so she didn’t bother. It was part of the job and one aspect she didn’t love but it was something she just had to live with. “ I’m sure someone is happy this happened “
Had she made enemies? Definitely but it wasn’t without reason. She didn’t write about someone unless they gave her reason to. “ kind of. I’m a journalist “ @sirmarcoalvarez
Marco looked at her curiously as he handed her some napkins to clean up as best she could. "Why aren't you professionally liked?" He wasn't one to judge, he was if anything open minded and sometimes a job was a job and sometimes one had to do things they might not enjoy. "Yeah? Well, maybe they need to look themselves then." To him, in most cases getting mad at someone wasn't needed and a waste.
"Oh, um - well, I guess I can see why someone might have a weird kick of this. Though you're doing a job at the end of the day as the rest of us." He was just one to try and find the good in everyone and everything as he could.
"No, it would taste better." Kate said, with a deadpan expression. "If you're a willing subject, I can always show you. You don't need all your fingers, do you?" It sounded as though it were an attempt at an joke, but there was a glint of excitement in her eyes at the prospect.
"Really? Huh," Marco said with wonder in his eyes now, a hint of concern probably there too that grew some with the finger mention. His gaze looking from the woman to the ground. "I'd probably be fine with one less depending but um - I lost part of one once and almost lost one another time. Not sure I want to live that again." He was nice as ever, but there was a bit of him a bit unsure of her in this moment.
She can't help but laugh. "Hey I mean... I appreciate you being the cushion at all, but I'm hoping we both stay on our feet. And look. We've made it around the whole rink already... That is a win in my book." Zoe grins at him. She does nearly stumble as they round the turn, but manages to keep her balance. Another laugh quickly follows at the lifting plans and she nods. "Yeeep definitely waiting. But for sure we'll circle back to it. Maybe do the whole Dirty Dancing lift and everything..." She pauses for a moment, wondering if that's too dated a reference. Granted, it's been spoofed a million times. That does, however, create a little bit of a segue.
"What's your favorite film, anyway? Or just, you know... type of movie?" She glances his way, watching curiously.
Smiling and laughing, giving a small nod. "Yeah, no, you're right. I get it, promise it was all good fun. Not sure I can handle anything like that - yet, at least." Or ever, was left unsaid, a but more laughter following his words. "Yeah, that's a win in mine too. Makes for a great first d- I mean, hang out together." Marco said quickly covering up the date word. "Alright and you might be impressed by such in all due time," he said with a slight cocky grin that briefly came to him.
"Dirty Dancing - such a timeless classic," he spoke with a fond look. As a kid, Marco was more the movie buff than anything. He watched a lot more movies and shows then he read books which wasn't something he did until he was much older. "I'm not sure I have a favorite as I watch and enjoy a lot of movies. Do you have one?"
His smile grew a bit as he kept his gaze on the other male. It's not every day you meet someone who was a kind soul and he appreciated it more with everything being shrouded in darkness. Plus company was much better than him being left to figure out ways to entertain himself. He wasn't always the best at doing that. "It does honestly. More than me. I just have my younger sister. Anymore siblings would have been chaotic for us."
Marco laughed at what was shared. "Well, you'd never want to meet my whole family then," he shared before walking the other behind the bar to a backroom where there was a few things there. "Would you like something to eat or drink maybe?" He offered with a grin. "Oh, and I'm Marco, by the way. Should probably share names if we're riding this out together, right?"

“ what the fuck?!” Juno replied as soon as the liquid hit her in the front. She always had a tendency to joke that she was always working, but tonight she genuinely wasn’t working. She even went dark on her work socials so that tonight was just going to be a chance to enjoy what Aurora Bay had to offer and she had no intentions of rattling any of the well-known faces that inhabited her town. But as soon as the drink hit her and smelled strongly of some sort a hard cider she realized it was one of those nights where she was gonna pay for her career choice. “ fucking great.” She replied as she walked away to try to find something to clean up the stain that was already forming on her shirt. “ I just know someone out there is fucking laughing at this. Do you know where I can find some napkins?”
Seeing what had just happened caused Marco to jump some, and pulled him out of his small chat with someone. Quickly he excused himself, asked someone there for some napkins and walked over to the woman. "Why would someone be laughing? I don't see any reason someone has to do such a thing," he uttered with a shrug. "I got you covered," he spoke before handing the ones he got over with a friendly smile. "Did you make some enemies with people or something like that?" The bartender couldn't help but ask as he was wondering why someone would actually throw a drink at someone. On TV it was all for show and drama, aside from that? It seemed pretty rude to him.
