do you think that wooyoung and san knew when they got the tattoo? like, do you think they knew-- that they felt that it was more than just a friendship, that it was something bigger than the words they were using? do you think they had told each other, had expressed it as best they could, but still had no way of quantifying it other than friends til the end?
or do you think they doubted that the other knew, even though they both did? do you think wooyoung chose the word amicus because he was scared of what any other word would imply, and he knew it was a safer bet? or do you think san heard the idea and thought if this is the best i get, at least it's forever?
or do you think neither of them knew, not really, not yet-- but then the ink was there, permanently embedded under the skin, secret to everyone else, and suddenly it was real in a way they had never imagined? and do you think it becoming real was what made the realisation happen, finally-- a car crashing into a wall, an explosion, undeniable and breathtaking and terrifying? do you think it scared the shit out of them, that suddenly they had this symbol of friendship but that they suddenly wanted more?
or do you think that the whole time, it was a hidden promise-- that, from the moment wooyoung thought of it to the stencil being placed to the first needle dipping into ink and san's hand squeezing his and to the bandage and to the bitchy texts about how much it itched-- that it had meant more all along? that wooyoung had looked at san, said, you know what i mean, right? and do you think san looked back and said, i do, i always will, to the end? what more is there to say?
