You had a change of heart and decided to see your estranged father after cutting him off years ago. Your mom was so accepting while your dad, not so much. He couldnāt imagine seeing you in drag, much less since you looked like him. In your mind, you wanted to end this chapter, show him the woman youāve become, and move on with your life. What you didnāt expect, however, was his immediate reaction upon seeing you in the front door. āHi dad, itās me, your- well, I was, your son. Iām your daughter now.ā He didnāt think you would look more like your mom as a trans girl, but you wanted to surprise him. As soon as he mentioned that, he couldnāt help, but hug you.
āYou know, I was against the idea of having a daughter at first. But after seeing how you turned out, Iām just glad I donāt have a son anymore. Never wanted one anyways.ā As everyone in the room laughs at his bad dad joke, you canāt help, but also chuckle a bit. Heās still the same, but something about him also changed for the better. You donāt expect to be daddyās girl, but youāre glad that those daddy issues will be a thing of the past now. Maybe this is the start of a new chapter.
This caption is a shout out to all of those fathers, would-be fathers, and father figures that accept and treat us like the actual human beings and daughters we are.
