Watching Poirot and I think it would be really funny for one of these detective shows to have an episode where no one ever dies. The MC shows up in some new location, and people keep saying portentous things and giving meaningful looks and they all stay alive for the whole episode and then it’s over.

Had a dream where I was in some kind of group tour learning about Swedish food and being shown traditional ingredients. Someone remarked there wasn’t much sweet stuff, and someone else said “oh, the Swedes don’t have much of a dessert culture, who needs it after those fruity sauces with the meat” and someone else was like “what about Princess cake?”

To which I said “that is definitely not traditional, it’s a 50s dessert”. And when I woke up from cat yelling and looked it up, BAM, recipe first published in 1948.

Wanted to upgrade my wardrobe so I got a lightweight blazer and loafers on this trip and was ooh, I’ll wear them to the opera. But when I wear them together (with blue jeans), I realized I’m practically doing Fran Leibowitz cosplay.

#could be worse #but it was not my intention #I’m now googling to check if she’s a jaunty silk scarf wearer too

Going to see 2 movies at IFC on this trip b/c I bought a ticket for Blue Heron but it was only after the credits rolled that I realized I was in the wrong theater. Turns out Blue Film was playing at the exact same time so they told me the wrong theater, and I got comped.

Went back for the 7:40 Blue Heron showing after dinner and it was really good. I love the cinema.

Had a “fellas is it weird to…” moment last night when I found myself watching That Mitchell and Webb Look while eating sauerkraut out of the jar with chopsticks, another one today having a Pepsi Icee and multigrain onigiri (homemade that I snuck in) at the Tristan simulcast.
