Hannah waited in the empty room. The boys should be here any minute.
It was a little building near Mountain's greenhouse. It had been a carriage house at one time, and later, a storage room. It had been cleared out not long ago with the idea that it could be made into a potting shed and a place to start seeds, but the work hadn't started yet. Small windows let in the moonlight, enough to see by, though still dim.
It was perfect for their needs: a private space that wasn't a church.
A vampire would never flee to a church to escape the hunt.
It was V's turn to be the prey tonight, something Dew had been excited about for some time. They were playing vampire hunters. This was where the hunt would end.
There was no possible way she could help with the chase itself. Dew had the speed, strength and agility to keep up with V when he was using his full abilities, and she, of course, did not, so the idea was that she would be waiting here just as V had once waited for her.
She fully expected to be playing a supporting role tonight. This was mostly Dew and V's scene out of necessity. She hadn't been entirely sure why they'd insisted on including her when the idea was first discussed, but they had, so here she was.
She'd take most of her direction from Dew on how to handle things unless some sort of inspiration struck, but she'd prepared as best as she could. She had spare clothes and the like stashed out of sight along with some small blankets and water bottles, just in case.
She'd worn men's clothing tonight to make it easier to deal with wearing her strap underneath it. Also just in case.
She'd been feeling lately that she hadn't given her loves enough space to focus on each other when the three of them were together, and she wasn't happy with herself because of it. She'd allowed her insecurities to get the better of her, and she didn't want that to continue. One of the reasons she'd agreed to this was as a way to get acclimated to being in the background sometimes without letting her neediness interfere. She hoped it would help make things more comfortable for all three of them.
Such were the thoughts passing through her mind as she waited for the boys to arrive.
