Day 24 - Shikamaru x Shadow Creature

another piece i'm not a big fan of. this is the improved version that i edited on ibis paint. i got help from @servenna again this time 😁

the one under cut is the unedited, uncropped version (plus a bit of an explanation of what i did). i rendered shika's hand with care. i want people to see it so it doesn't go to waste (⁠ ⁠ꈍ⁠ᴗ⁠ꈍ⁠)

his arm should be angled/curved more towards us. i wasn't doing a good job with the perspective, and i didn't feel like fixing it because i had all the layers merged.

so to give an illusion that it was drawn correctly, i. cropped it out. HEHEH. (and angled it a little).

not only that, temari's expression was pretty underwhelming :/ i wanted her to look calm and at ease, but. of course it didn't turn out to be like the initial sletch. it's too plain!!! grrr

i darkened her eyes (thanks to venna's suggestion^^) with light gray on multiply layer and it improved a lot 😳 also painted over some minor corrections on her eyes; like shifting the highlight. she looks calmer now (⁠人⁠ ⁠•͈⁠ᴗ⁠•͈⁠)

honestly i'm kinda surprised that i drew shika's expression smoothly this time. pretty much everything was unbalanced except for that.

Shikamaru tries to get home early so he can sleep in Temari's room.

They end staying up all night.

(I forgot which manga it was. But, apperantly Shikamaru and Temari have separate bedrooms.)

Temari will sometimes come into Shikamaru's office to sit on his lap facing him.

My thoughts on Temari moving from Suna to be in Konoha with Shikamaru. At first, I thought she would never leave Suna because she’s so loyal to the village and she loves her brother so much.

But like, I love my family and my city and I moved away. In fact, being around my family triggers tf outta me. I love having the space to be myself and then being able to visit my family every once in a while.

Her childhood with Gaara and Kankuro was extremely traumatic, especially losing most of the adults in her life before she even became an adult herself.

So her moving to Konoha makes sense to me. And it doesn’t mean she chose Shikamaru over her family or Konoha over Suna. Maybe she chose her peace over everything.
