Let me tell you about Jacob (short story)
One day, a pebble skitted over across the country road. The anger went through her veins like a drug as she cursed under her breathe. She walks through the door in pure force. Kicking the dirt off her shoes then looking up at me in pure resentment. Once I realized what her issue was, I froze like a deer in headlights. I had kept a secret from her for a while. Just gazing at her face as I read her every emotion made my heart sink. If my intuition was correct I know I had the risk of losing everything. Her, and everything weād built together.Ā
āwhereāve you been?ā I ask her in a confused tone
āIs there something you want to tell me or are you going to just play stupidā she said with a cold stareĀ
she runs to the counter grabbing the mail slamming it on the table making a sound as loud as a gunshot. Honestly I was wanting to handle this situation privately so she wouldnāt be so scared and react this way. I knew it was unavoidable at this point.Ā
āYou violated your probation?! Do you realize what can happen?!ā
Faint crying comes from the furthest bedroom just down the hallway.
āThanks Rebecca I had just put him downāĀ
I run to the crib attempting to comfort our son.Ā
