9 Simple Reminders That Will Make You a Better Leader
“Leadership can be difficult, but I am always amazed by the number of people who make it harder than it needs to be by forgetting some simple basics.”
Two years ago, life was good for Sheryl Sandberg. The Facebook senior executive and mother of two had a best-selling book (Lean In) and she and her husband, Dave Goldberg, decided to take a vacation. But on that vacation, Goldberg collapsed at the gym from heart failure and died. He was 47 years old.
Sandberg went through a period of darkness after her husband’s death. She turned to professionals and friends for help getting through it, and now she’s written a book with one of those professionals, psychologist Adam Grant. It’s called Option B: Facing Adversity, Building Resilience and Finding Joy.
Sandberg spoke to NPR about finding her way back to normal and the best way to be there for someone who’s grieving.
‘Just Show Up’: Sheryl Sandberg On How To Help Someone Who’s Grieving
Can we all just agree that if we have to sign for a package, it should be dropped off sometime between 5pm and 10pm.
AMEN!!
It may not seem very romantic, but I enjoy working together on the yard/house/projects as much as long walks in the park and picnics on the beach. A little sweat and dirt make her look even sexier! On another subject, we found out new home hiding behind these overgrown bushes....
It's funny looking back, since we shared the same last name.

"Yes. What of it?"
I loved that show!
It took us half a lifetime to get here, but it was worth every step. And I do love this woman! Happy Valentine's Day

I applaud any parents (and children) that have great financial means, and yet have a job serving the public. She will learn lessons that no ivy league school can teach her and have a better perception of the world. 👍

OK, I haven't posted much in awhile. I'm busy with life, and in a good way. But I had to post this. After I became a full-time single father the years ago, I quickly developed a huge respect for all single parents, especially mothers (I have no illusions about the gender pay gap and other issues women have to deal with.) So after reading this story, within all of the other negative news available out there, I couldn't resist sharing because it's so inspiring to me. Even more so because I am searching for a new house (larger!) for my own beautiful family. Never underestimate single moms!
