Dydh da, I'm Morgan (he/him), or Argyroeleon for my drakon-ketos kin. This my otherkin sideblog to muse about drakon-ketos things, otherkin metaphysics, academia, otherkinity, spiritual ecology, and many more things. I hope to expand understanding of myself and others, make otherkin friends, and perhaps provide unique insight to the otherkin community.

My kintype is a drakon-ketos, essentially, the ancient Greco-Mediterranean dragon/sea serpent. While certainly a type of dragonkin, my kintype is a bit different and connected to things such as rot and fresh water compared to the usual medieval-styled dragon.

I'm also Cornish, Slovak, and Maya-Mexican; in real life, a viticulturist, winemaker, and med student. If there is anything I can do to help, send me an ask and I'm open to chat!

something on my mind about being a dragon is love. I desire it deeply, I wish to curl around a lover and build my castle, I wish to hoard and take. something fundamental to me is this nature, of protection, and of fire as venom. dragons as greed is largely Christian, dragons as protection is old and pagan.

I enjoy my own sense of otherhumanity in that there is not one moment that I am without it. The mentalities and instincts are always there, simple as breathing, just as the human is driven towards socialisation and community development. I feel my hunger, my song, the teeth and natural defensiveness always—but also the love and care, the sharp teeth and the draw to a ‘home’ to defend. A people to protect.

And thus, always more and beyond inhuman.

a drakon's ancestry is fascinating. some of the earliest dragons, the dragon-ketos, is nearly always born from the divine. perhaps that is something for us to explore--how much of our claws is from a shaped, different, version of the nails our mothers and fathers had?

Weird question, if someone was a Quetzalcoatlus therian (as in, the pterosaur) what's the safest way to go about that

not a weird question at all! I think the thoughtfullness is rather lovely.

I think that's a matter of context. because if a dragonkin is trying to claim Quetzalcoatl, that's wrong, but for a dinosaur, that's fine--I would just say Quetzalcoatlus kin or quetzaldinokin to be more clear about what you're referring to.

dear fellow dragonkins: "queztel" is not a dragon species. He is a Mexica deity. Calling yourself a queztel is racist. Because he is not a dragon, but a very important deity from a people that have been genocided and colonised for hundreds of years. If you see someone calling themselves that, call it out.

also, the Amphithere is a historical winged heraldric dragon/serpent! It's much more realistic than calling yourself a mesoamerican god!

a sea creature kin tip: the proper bubble bath is both relaxing and helps care for your creature side as well! Some nice floral and ocean scents help put my drakon-ketos side to ease.

I love being a dragon that protects people. The way I feel my dragonkin side the closer I am, my patients at the hospital, the child I shared my food with, the friends I hold dear to my heart. The serpent curls around its brood—and a dragon can hold its heart as the protector within the entire world.
