I don’t think i made myself clear, please unfollow me and/or block me if you think adult men need excuses for what they’ve done and how they’ve reacted. Were they drunk off their asses? Most probably. But that doesn’t excuse shit. Taking down the story doesn’t mean they regret doing things it means they regret getting backlash for it. That’s not them apologising, that’s them going “ups, my bad”. The “but we don’t know them personally, we don’t know what exactly is going on in their minds” is bullshit, I don’t care what they MIGHT think, I care about what they promote as public people. They’re grown adults, if they can speak on the phone with the president and laugh at his jokes they can also suffer consequences for their actions.

y'all, i don't mean to sound incredibly naive nor do i want to be a hater but i've seen some questionable things recently.

we know will smith has always been openly, visibly catholic, he literally went to an all-boys catholic school, his family is religious, his chain which now has a new addition. it's all very on-brand for what we know of him.

but the way people immediately jump to “he’s gay and in denial” or “it’s about willmack” is so wild to me, like sorry but that’s lowkey disrespectful ?? why are we reducing someone’s actual faith and implying his necklace is some kind of coded message about his sexuality or his best friend ?

honestly it’s starting to feel like people don’t even see him as a real human being anymore and he’s just this projection screen for whatever narrative they want to push. no consideration for his background, his beliefs, or the fact he’s an actual person with a life outside the character they’ve built in their heads.

i’m all for fun and even though i don't partake, i couldn't care less if people ship him with mack, we're on tumblr after all. i honestly don't mean any hatred, i just think sometimes these things can be harmful if it's taken too far, and i say this as someone who is not christian myself.
