Pictured here: Karl Storman, my boss and dear friend, MC'ing the #WOLSuperbowl rally in Dallas (to be called a new name next year).  The kid with whip cream on his face just won the grand prize, an xBox 1.  

The setup for this night was challenging, and our group got thrown a few game-changing curve-balls.  But we persevered, God prevailed, and we saw about 22 young people come to know Jesus Christ as their Savior.  The evening went really well! 

So great to see God working through the lives of our TX missionaries, the Grays and Harwells!

When we become a follower of Jesus, he give us eternal life.  Since eternity is infinite in time, our old past, present, and future are now replaced with the past, present, and future of Jesus Christ.  We not only gain a future of eternal life, but OUR PAST NO LONGER DEFINES US, rather the eternal past of Jesus Christ now defines us.  As a result, we can live victoriously in the present.  (Thanks Phil and Mary, and Dr. Charles R. Solomon)

Since you have heard about Jesus and have learned the truth that comes from him,  throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception.  Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes.  Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy. Eph. 4:21-24

You cannot demand that others "un-choose" the path that have chosen for yourself. If have chosen a path, traveled it, and reached it's destination, you can only blame your own feet and not curse those of another. When you are experiencing the consequences of your own choices, you alone bear the responsibility. -js

Honoring moms

I am so thankful for my wife Cindy, the mother of my children, a wonderful and devoted mother and wife.  I am so thankful for my grandmother Evelyn, a wonderful example of love, dignity, and devotion to her family.  I am so thankful for my godmother auntie Debbie, a wonderful example of strength, common sense, and a mother's love.  I am so thankful for my sister Jamie, who is a great mom to five children, and a wonderful example of strength and intelligence. I am so thankful for my mother-in-law Mary, for raising my wife, and for her wonderful example of love and hard work. I am also thankful for the 'keenaged' women in my sending church who have loved on my family like fill-in moms for me would.
