kind of weird how parts of your soul are left in various locations without any warning… like yes i’m always at the top of that hill, sitting at the bus stop, in the cool light of the Japanese restaurant, standing at the pier etc etc

"If I were orpheus I wouldn't look back"
But we look back everyday- rechecking emails, making sure a friend is still behind you, checking to see if you remebered to pick up your keys. It's second nature, a habit of care.
It was second nature for him too. He looked back, not out of weakness, but love. For what is love, if not to look back?
An Orpheus who didn't turn around is an Orpheus who never walked down in the first place
human nature is not a thing of perfect consistency and unshakable faith. but as souls full of love we walk down again and again, with childlike naivety that somehow our altruism will best our humanity.
orpheus' story is tragic because it is so painfully human, and so beautifully flawed. broken heros are worth remembering. we raise our cups.
Don’t think just feel, it’s fleeting, but it’s here for now
