Finally getting round to the dress alteration project, i'm embroidering the neckline after being all in my head about it for several months. Currently debating making the leaves a different colour to the vine, and whether i'm going to whip stitch it or not.

I removed the bust curve, embroidered it, added a new lining and support layer, added boning, made loops from the sash and a tie for the back. And the breast pocket (lol). Oh, and I dyed the dress.

The skirt became separate, added a waistband, failed to make the zip work, closed it with snaps instead.

The vines are backstitched, the leaves are a lazy daisy within a lazy daisy, the flowers are lazy daisies with a single stitch to fill it in. It took upwards of 15hrs, and i did it without a hoop (apart from the center flower) because the fabric scars.

I don't have a single photo of me wearing this at fantasy forest where you can see the embroidery clearly (also i had several genuinely awful massively swollen horsefly bites)

I can make a skirt fit, making a skirt fit is easy, i'm not afraid of the skirt, i've been sewing for over a decade of course i can make a skirt that fits
