nobody likes "just get over it" as advice but when it comes to posting online you Have to get over it. it's posting online.
love the phrase "but I digress." yes I temporarily got lost in the moors I wander in my mind but don't worry I'm self-aware about it
All y'all better be reblogging this
PERIOD. I WON’T TOLERATE BIGOTS 🖕🏻
Guys can I be honest. I like you guys . You are my Frends. Yay Ok
whos the blorbo you have the most merch of? it can be handmade or official or unofficial or ANYTHING just. merch
A fictional character is just a figment of imagination. A fictional character is lesser than an object. You can not hurt a fictional character. It is not real. It is a vehicle for concepts and nothing more.
If you are making the choice to emulate what you see in fiction, that is your choice. You did that. Not the fiction. You did. Take responsibility for your shitty actions. You aren't as stupid as you want me to think you are.
do it scared. do it stupid. but most importantly, do it bitching and moaning the entire time
"children need more safe space online" children have always had more than enough safe space online. what you're seeing is children deliberately coming into online space that is meant specifically for adults. and I am not saying they are not welcome by the way, as long as adult space is what they CHOOSE to be in and as long as they keep themselves safe (however, it is not an adult's job or responsibility to look after a random kid or what content they consume on the internet).
but YOU. you see children deliberately choosing to consume adult contents and say "oh no we need more children's space, and in doing so, we must ban and censor adult contents FROM ADULTS' SPACE that children deliberately choose to be in.”
and you know what else I know? you don't actually care about children by demanding more children's space online, you are just hiding behind the "we are protecting children" claim while actively trying to control people what they can or can't create/consume in their own adult space. you are just trying to push for censorship, the fascist tool that you love so much.
This feels like a good time to mention that the US Senate is working on trying to pass their KOSA bill by the end of the week that essentially mandates this shit, plus restricting access to history and LGBTQ information and more. Please reach out to your senator by phone and their website contact form to let them know why this is a stupid, Dystopian idea.
KOSA passes committee, will go to the Senate floor for a vote. Do not let up, do not give up. Call your house representatives, call your senators. Be polite, be firm, talk about the boon to tech companies data harvesting and mass surveillance efforts, AI usage, loss of privacy, censorship potential, threatens sites like Ao3 and Wikipedia, links everything you do, view, and say online to your real life identity, and needs to be stopped. It is literally Flock Cameras for your operating system and every website you view.
guys i have truly good news at long last
Human relationships are not transactional but they are reciprocal, which I think many of you with your ‘i don’t owe anyone anything’ shtick are too happy to forget
where do people get energy from
you'll get the urge as an artist or a writer to say out loud the things you're worried about "the proportions are off" "kind of out of character" "i'm not good at summaries" "didn't get as much detail as i wanted" "i made a mistake and here's how" and that's the self-conscious part of your brain telling you "it's bad and if you don't tell them you know it's bad then they'll think you're stupid" but you've got to ignore that little voice and pretend you think it's good or else that little voice is going to ruin your life
Some of the best advice I have ever gotten was from a creative writing professor. She said never apologize for your work. Never critic it before someone else does.
Her reasoning was you are the creator. You made your work from nothing and can see all the flaws and seems and holes. But your audience may not see any of it. Maybe they will; maybe they won't. But if you TELL them about the holes and the mistakes and the problems....they will 100% see them. So don't tell them. Don't sabotage yourself just because you think you're not good enough.
