“How cheap of them. You know they have a really fancy coffee machine in the room next to this one. Could have at least made you a coffee or something.” She pointed out shaking her head. “Would you like me to go get you a refill?” Elodie offered with a smile. “Or maybe even a fancy coffee?” She asked with a playful smirk. “Well, if he’s not paying you I guess he might be sending you just because it’s cheaper than sending one of the boardmembers. Though you’re probably more on the money with him secretly trying to recruit you.” She gave the male a small grin enjoying analysing the whole situation.
“A fancy coffee would have been a step closer to me accepting the sponsorship proposal.” Mitch joked, a light laugh filling the air. “You have access to the fancy coffee machine?” He asked, a brow raising slightly. “That was one of the conclusions I came to as well. But, he needs someone to pass the legacy down to, so maybe a bit of both.”

Elodie winced “Ouch, sucks to be you.” She teased with a small smirk. “Have they at least offered you a reason for keeping you waiting? Or maybe even just a drink?” She questioned pulling a bouquet of yellow roses and white lilies in a cardboard vase out of her box before walking over to the bureau and placing them on top. “Hmm, yes, I suppose he is right. Clever man.” She mused with a hum to herself. “Are you apart of the business? If so, I think you’d be more suited than another boardmember.” Elodie wasn’t sure why she was getting so involved with the situation but she couldn’t help her curiosity and the need to understand it all though she probably wouldn’t think twice about it after she left the building. Still, it would keep her attention until she was finished there.
“A water.” He said, gesturing to the empty plastic cup on the floor beside his chair. “Though I haven’t received a refill and I don’t know where the water fountain is.” He laughed lightly and shrugged. “Well, that’s what he’d like to be told, anyway.” Mitch said, nodding slightly. “Not officially, no. But I think that’s what the plan is... Why else would he send me to do this stuff?” Other than perhaps to bore him to death. “But he’s been doing this for a while and I’ve not received an official pay check yet.” He chuckled lightly.

“I didn’t say I didn’t know more than you, I just said I that I didn’t know whether it always takes this long. I mean, for starters I don’t know how long you have been waiting.” The blonde replied with a playful look in her eye. “Oh, well, I guess I should say good luck then. Though if it’s your father’s business wouldn’t it have made more of an impression if he came himself, not to be disrespectful or anything I’m sure you’re more than qualified to have the meeting.” She questioned as she continued to unbox the flowers. “Well, you’d think but between you and me I think people in charge like to keep others waiting as a power move.”
A smile grew on the corners of his lips as she spoke. He nodded, running his tongue along his bottom lip a little. "That's fair." A light chuckle left his lips. "I've been here for the best part of," he looked at his watch, "fourty minutes." That was depressing. No wonder his father had sent him to sit and wait. "It might have, but the way my dad sees it is the Mayor is asking for the favour and until he knows the scope, there's no point getting involved." Mitch shrugged and met her gaze. "But you're right - he could have at least sent one of the boardmembers on his behalf." It was definitely a learning opportunity. But Mitch wondered if his father was just thrusting him into these opportunities to make sure he had no other options. He laughed at the blonde's next words. "One hell of a move."

Hallie reached to grab his hand to stop him, worried what might happen and if he would draw attention to himself. “Wait– we need to be sensible about this. Someone could get hurt.” Her words came out hurried. “What do you think you’re going to do by going over there?”
Mitch looked down at the woman as she grabbed his wrist. She was right, of course, but what would happen if no one did anything? He was fairly confident he could take them on long enough for people to get out... until he noticed the guns. From the previous angle they had been obscured. "What do you suggest?" He asked. "We sit and wait?" His tone wasn't confrontational, just genuinely looking for her opinion.

Elodie gave a shrug. “I can’t say that I’d know. I only come here to drop off the flower deliveries every week so I don’t really deal with the mayor himself.” She replied with a smile looking down at the flowers briefly. “What are you here for?”
Mitch looked up to meet the blonde’s gaze and offered a smile. “You must know more than me if you’re in here every week.” He said, his smile turning slightly playful. He looked down at the flowers -- it was a lovely arrangement. Definitely something his mother would like. “The Mayor is looking for a sort of sponsorship deal with my father’s business. So I’m here on his behalf.” He explained. “You’d think since the mayor wanted the meeting, he would be on time.” He laughed lightly, shaking his head.

Hallie had been about to reply when she heard a loud commotion by the front desk as a group of men tried to force their way past the receptionist towards where the Mayor’s office was based and three others locked the front door. Her eyes widened in alarm as she looked back towards Mitch, dread suddenly filling her. “Why are they locking the door?”
Mitch watched the scene unfold before him, eyes narrowing as he tried to figure out what the men were trying to achieve. “Probably not for anything good.” He said, moving to a standing position. He wasn't sure what his plan was, but surely something.

A sense of relief filled her at hearing his answer, not that she didn’t want the competition, it was just she’d rather not have to meet them and her nerves getting the best of her. “Sponsorship? For what? That’s of course if you don’t mind me asking..” She gave a sheepish smile realising that she was being nosey and pushy. “Oh, I’m here for the job interview. The PA?”
He could almost see the relief on her face, though it didn’t fully register. “They’re looking for sponsorship for a certain project they would like to do.” Mitch said, unsure how detailed he could be -- granted, he didn’t know much about it himself. “I don’t think there’s much luck but my father wanted to look into it anyway.” Mitchell nodded in understanding, though he wasn’t aware there was a job going. “Well, I hope you get it.”

“I’ve been waiting for nearly an hour so I wouldn’t be too confident.” Hallie glanced up from her book as she answered, casting her gaze in his direction. “What is it you’re here for?” She wondered whether he was her competition.
A sigh left his lips at her response -- Mitch was usually a patient person, but for some reason when it came to his father and the business that he sometimes had to involve himself in on his father’s behalf, that patience took a back seat. “It’s hardly worth staying if he can’t be punctual.” He said shaking his head, but moved his gaze to the woman and offered her a smile. “Just a talk about sponsorship or something.” He shrugged. His father had told him the basics, but what he needed was the mayor’s information. “What about you?”
Sat in one of the less-than-comfy chair outside the Mayor’s office, Mitchell’s leg bobbed up and down impatiently. He wasn’t even sure why he was there -- well, why he had to be the face of his father’s company, anyway. It wasn’t like he had all that involvement in it at the moment. He wasn’t sure whether he wanted to. Either way, he was stuck there waiting. “Does it always take this long?”

Mitch offered her a small smile and watched as she checked her phone. Though, judging by the reaction, it was not the person she had expected. “Where are you headed?” He asked, tilting his head to the side slightly as he asked.
“Well, I’m hoping to go to my sister’s but I don’t actually know her address yet. My mother was going to text me but I’m still waiting.” She replied giving another sigh.
His brow rose slightly and his lips curled, somewhat amused by the situation. "You got on a plane here without an address to go to?" He asked, only genuine amusement in his voice -- he was impressed, too. "Do you at least have a town name or something?" He asked, worrying that if the brunette didn't receive this text then she would really have nowhere to go.

The brunette rubbed at her eyes before picking her phone up. “Thank god. I’ve been waiting for ages. Let’s just hope it’s the right person.” She stated unlocking the phone to check who had messaged her. A sigh fell from her lips as she realised it wasn’t from her mother. “Doesn’t look like I’m going anywhere soon..” She stated, rolling her eyes as she put her phone back down in her lap.
Mitch offered her a small smile and watched as she checked her phone. Though, judging by the reaction, it was not the person she had expected. “Where are you headed?” He asked, tilting his head to the side slightly as he asked.
Mia’s eyes shot open startled by a voice. She’d been sat in the airport chair for just over two hours now waiting for her luggage and for her mother to text her the address to her sister’s place. Pushing herself up in the chair, she covered her mouth as she gave a yawn. “Sorry, what was that?” She asked the stranger in front of her.
Mitch stood above the brunette, offering a small smile as she began to wake. “Your phone has been blowing up.” He said, gesturing to the phone that lay on the seat next to her. “I think someone is really trying to get your attention.”
