Finally on break, Johnny darted out of the concession stand, head bowed down to avoid talking to anyone. Making a beeline to the trailer, the boy pulled out his phone and started a timer. Fifteen minutes; enough time to finish the movie he had been watching on all his previous breaks. Finally over by the trailer, he moved to sit on the ground, yanking his ear buds out of his pants pocket. Not wanting to lose a second, he plugged them in and pushed both of the buds in his ear. Johnny pressed play, a ghost of a smile flickering on his face for just a moment, oblivious to anything(or, perhaps, anyone) around him.
Skip strolled out of the trailer, scooping a few Dorito crumbs out of the bag he was carrying and tossing them into his mouth. The midday show always left him feeling hungry (though almost everything left him in varying states of hunger). He began walking back onto park grounds when he spotted Johnny on the pavement by the trailer, and he sauntered over with a grin. He stood behind him for a few moments, brows furrowed as he tried to discern what the other boy was watching. “...This looks weird, dude.”
