Content warning; violence, torture, disturbingly hateful text. Can't be properly seen and read without zooming in, sorry about that but this was the best way to make this.
Yeah, I drew myself killing someone very brutally. I don't like that this can look cringey or funny, this is meant to be serious and deeply personal, with a lot of thought and effort put into it too. I didn't draw this because of thinking like "haha being edgy and violent is cool" or anything like that. This is about unresolved trauma from horrible treatment, chronic invalidation and a desperate need for acknowledgment, highlighting the fact that a genuine apology is a main component to healing. To be honest, apologies (definitely including ones from people I had not talked to in years) have been the actual thing that helps me, not "time". Countless people really hurt me before, but I always felt better and healed much more whenever I got real apologies and closures. And the fact not everyone who horribly wronged me properly apologised to me still lingers, to say the least. Years of specific same severely traumatic pains being stuck to me led me to make this.
This comic wasn't made with just one person who hurt me in mind, it was multiple, but some still in mind more strongly. Also, if you think you apologised to me but later did something else that's extremely deeply traumatising to me and then acted like the blank character in the comic, no you never actually apologised to me. You'll never be truly good enough this way, no matter how good you are to others, I still exist, you're still a poor excuse for a person if you would rather ignore how much pain and suffering you gave me instead of having the heart to apologise. You didn't hurt me any less than you hurt anyone else, I'm severely traumatised by what you did to me and how you treated me, especially after all I gave you. All I wanted from you was honesty and friendship... (I was shivering in anger when writing this part...)
This isn't meant to justify anything, this is a neutral illustration of how these things can affect someone. The murder in this is also kind of a reference to the idiom "getting away with murder", which means getting away with doing bad things. Whenever someone treated me horribly enough to traumatise me, it was like they were getting away with murder in a way, though the power role is obviously switched in this. This isn't about me killing a yellow emoji person, that's a blank character whose actual identity is left hidden. That has 3 reasons, it would take away from the comic's meaning and depth if I drew a random person, to make it so that the other character can be imagined as anyone (including you), it reflects that the other character is seen as a symbol of hatred and suffering by me, and them being a living being with their own point of view isn't something that gives me a reason to have mercy on them. No, people who are being petty don't relate to this comic, this comic is about someone (me) getting worse and worse mentally due to things that really are awful enough to be severely traumatising.
Like the other D comics, the panels have deeper meanings in this one too, even multiple meanings. I don't feel like explaining much this time, oops. I'll point out just these... I look like a menacing shadowy figure in the 1st panel but in the 2nd panel it's shown that I'm actually... really wrecked, and not a threat at all. I'm aware the size of the scissors is inconsistent, that was intentional. And the last panel can mean multiple things, that was my intention. Other than deep stuff, there are also some other details that people may not understand just by looking. The blank character has an IV drip attached to them, because being in a lot of physical pain can make people unconscious, and... that's to prevent that. The 27th panel is me splashing the blank character with bile from their own gallbladder, yes, it is possible for bile to squirt like that if you tear or squeeze a gallbladder. Me having disturbingly big pupils is fight or flight response, anger and hatred can make pupils dilate. The blank character keeps being avoidant, but I forcefully make them finally look at me in the 13th panel.
Back in 2020 when I came across this song... I found a special comfort in it. I know more socially acceptable ways to draw about this kind of unresolved trauma would be stuff that don't involve morbid revenge, but I don't give a fuck about that, this was the best way to make this, it has all the points, depth and meanings I wanted to convey, and it is accurate to me (these comics are vent art with accuracy to me and my life). This being made and being this way is the best for my mental health. I paid attention to the facial expressions I make when thinking of or doing certain things, which helped with this. I'm using my own physical strength and scissors as weapons in this, the usage of scissors is inspired by the uneasy feeling I get whenever I'm trimming my toenails. The strawberry shirt is a dark joke about the blood being strawberry juice. The stripped shirt in the 28th panel is literally what I'm wearing right now (all the clothes and stuff in drawings are things I really have). I know literally killing someone would get me locked up, but that won't happen to me in the comic, because I'm so insignificant in society that not even the police will suspect me about the disappearance of that person. And I hope it is obvious I didn't do this in reality, or else I wouldn't even be here and posting this LOL, that's not what I mean with "accuracy".
Please apologise if you've done horrible stuff to someone (including me). I've done things I'm not proud of, but I was never like the blank character in this comic (doing things horrible enough to seriously traumatise someone and then being uncaring and avoidant), I'm sorry for anything wrong I did.
I started working on this on April 16, I was aiming to finish this before May, I failed. Because I suck at doing many things fast, almost everyday I ended up making less progress than I planned because of focusing on other stuff, and working on this was kind of hurting me both mentally and physically even if I really wanted to draw this (it was reminding me harder of certain hurtful things and the hurt and anger within me gave me a headache). I feel at least a bit better after finishing this. Tyler Joseph's advice about using my own suffering to be productive instead of doing any type of harm to myself really works. I'd disable comments because I don't want to risk getting unwanted types of comments, but tumblr lacks that feature. I already know this won't get much positivity or exposure. Thanks if you took a look at this comic and liked it.
All the texts/lyrics in the panels, in case anyone is having difficulty reading (you can skip this paragraph);panels 1-8; It is you, reasonably so you that I want to annihilate. To be the one to erase your self-centered smile. Hey you over there, there are things weighing on my mind that I need to be known. I tried to sort this out civilly, you did not listen. It is time someone should show you how serious earning resentment is. Clearly to you it is so trivial that it is not worth the tiniest particle of thought. But the hurt you inflict can stick and stay even if years and decades pass. "I am so sorry" can you ever say it?panels 9-22: It is you, reasonably so you that I want to annihilate. To make it so you no longer have that undeserved self-centered smile. Now you are all restrained and have no other choice than to face me. Tell, what does it feel like? With cuts and strikes from head to toe, I will ensure you feel various pains from various angles. Pray to be elsewhere if you want, but you already know more and more are to pile up until it over. Tell, how grateful were you to be alive yesterday? "I am so sorry" can you ever say it? "I am so sorry" can you ever mean it? You who turned out to be this kind of poor excuse for a person, with my hands alone you will meet the consequences of your actions.panels 23-32: It is you, reasonably so you that I want to annihilate. To replace your self-centered smile with a decaying frown. You are not as great as you think you are, which is why you did not realise the price ahead was ending up stuck here whining and howling. Hahahahaha. The freedom has always been yours... to tell me that you are so sorry, with that sloppy pathetic face. But while you had all that time to really atone, you threw it all away. Because it is you.
Based on the song "Can you say you're sorry?" (aka "I wonder if you'll say you're sorry") by Machigerita, a song with a Machigerita-vocals version and a Gumi/Megpoid Vocaloid version. I love Vocaloid music but the version with Machigerita's own vocals is my fav lol. The original lyrics of the song is not the same as the version used in this comic, this is an English version I came up with, it is significantly different, and is more detailed and more disturbing. Even if the original song isn't mine, all those sentences came from my own immensely hurt and infuriated mind. The 17th panel is inspired by the song's picture (close-up of an eye) but other than that the comic is really not inspired by anything else than my own pain. This was like an untimely Halloween special, the next comic (hopefully coming this month) will be like an untimely Christmas special instead. Oops, sorry for the longness... The D is for "deterioration" in this one.
