Perhaps the thin lining of his jacket wasn’t quite enough to keep him warm on such a day. The cool winter air chilled him to the bone, but he continued forward nonetheless, unwilling to turn back for a proper coat with the concern in mind that he’d end up being late. Icy-blue optics scanned the area, his legs picking up speed once he realized the still-notable distance between himself and his destination.

It was a given that he felt slightly nervous, a tiny voice in his head telling him to give up and avoid facing that which he had left unresolved two or so years ago, but the boy forced himself onward with a grimace as he did his best to bear with the cold breeze that brushed against his skin.

Having been traveling at a fairly quick pace, he reached the café in record time, requesting a table for two and following the hostess to his seat with a restless and impatient appearance.

He hadn’t expected to wait long, and of course, only five or so minutes later, a familiar face walked through the front door. The boy watched with wide eyes, shocked to see how tall they’d grown. There was no way they could be taller than him, right? He wanted to be sure it wasn’t possible, but first he lifted a pale hand and waved in their direction, movements subtle as though he were acting with a certain level of hesitation.

Familiar gazes connected again for the first time in nearly two years, and the boy spoke up with a voice much quieter than he’d preferred to have used.

"Ah… You came."

Indeed, had their affirmation been correct- the boy sitting in the corner table had indeed been Norio Igarashi, the boy who they had been so familiar with. Intaking a deep breath and swallowing it down,they approached the other with a good natured, if nervous smile. 

Upon sitting parallel to the blonde, they noticed a few minor changes in the boy's appearance. He had grown some inches- more masculine features were noticeable than when he was years ago. She wondered if she'd changed too, besides turning fourteen and already using makeup and such- after all, they could never really notice the changes in their person without any pictures. 

The other seemed tense, as well- that is understandable. It had been quite some time since they had lost absolute contact with eachother, and their reunion had been so sudden- they'd hope they could help the mood easy down, maybe it would, after a while. After all, their communication when they were in their relationship had been quite fluid, and they were the same people.

-Of course I did..! I wouldn't dare not coming, heh.. So- What have you been up to..?

Eyes coloured by the brilliant tint of bright azure stared aimlessly at the wall, half-lidded with fatigue as the boy pressed his cheek further into the pillow upon which he rested. Today would be uneventful, as he’d planned nothing for the weekend and there was still a day to go before he’d return to his regular schedule.

With a languid sigh he sat up and pulled his cell phone from his pants pocket, flipping it open and scrolling through the contacts with a single number in mind. They hadn’t seen each other in over a year, but sooner or later, he knew they’d have to catch up; the only question in mind had always been when one of them would take that extra step to arrange a meeting. It wasn’t like him to avoid a confrontation for so long, and he’d been growing especially tired of the guilt that moved restlessly through his lower gut whenever thoughts fell back to better times.

Fingers flew from key to key, typing out a quick message of invitation and hitting send before closing the screen. The boy got to his feet and tugged thin arms through the sleeves of his jacket before taking a last glance at his room and heading for the door.

Maybe a café was a strange place for a rendezvous considering the situation, but it was all he could come up with.

 It was a cold day. Too cold for comfort- a cold that embraced the person and left them feeling exposed. the tip of their aquiline nose felt cool and so did their calloused fingertips. They felt tired, tired of all the nights awake and not able to be regained, tired of the days of fretting and worrying. But the cold did not let them rest, not even a bit.

Of course, they'd have to adapt- spring would eventually come and life had pains everyone has to endure, and so they nestled between their tanned, fragile arms, looking for warm comfort, and closed their tired eyes.

The feeling of rest was just touching them, when a startling beep came from in front of them, and they rushed up, alarmed and distraught, until they realized it was just the phone they owned. Reaching out to gently grab the device, they typed in the security pass, and with the heart in their throat, opened their messages section.

The message was a casual, unexpected invitation to a well-known café to talk, but what came even more unexpected was the message's sender.

Norio.

It had been so long since the name hummed out of their throat and timidly, quietly escaped the person's thick lips, and their crimson eyes blinked, with a distant, nervous and tired expression, thanks to the heavy eyebags under their eyes.

How long had it been since they had seen the boy? A couple of years? They had left their hometown to go to the big city, looking for a job to escape the situation his parents had put him in. Was he better now? They certainly hoped so, definitely.

Standing up, and trying to dainty up their olive shaded sweater, they threw over the big, brown toggle coat they owned, they ran their hands through the ebony pixie cut their hair was cut in, making their way out the small little 'house', if one could call it that. The café was actually quite luckily close to their house, so they'd decide to just go on foot, what bad could that do?

Once they had arrived to the small little café, they had looked around for the other- recalling their features. Blonde hair. blue eyes. Visibly laid back. Upon encountering someone with said features, they hoped they were the person they'd be looking for.

- Norio..?
