{ Spellbound â â¤
THE moment he became predictable was when everything would end. All the plans   he had for his PERFECT world would be foiled by the small girl sitting next to him,   and the Vongola. Thatâs why he felt it was so important to keep her guessing, make   sure she could never tell what he would be planning next. It was the way that he   worked, and the perfect way to get the most fun out of this life. If no one knew what   you were going to do next, then you had their surprised expression to look forward to   âas well as their DISBELIEF that it had actually happened. Certainly, that sort of face   mixed with DISGUST was going to be more than humorous to see. Especially on a   certain Lightningâs visage.
â   Well, I suppose what I should do is comfort you in a situation like this, ne?            I hope you donât end up getting cold feet when the time comes for us to            get married, Yuni-chan. Who knows whatâll happen if you do? But Iâm sure            everything will be fine, since weâre waiting until you get older. Weâll have            more time to get to know each other and be on more friendly terms with            each other.   â   Despite out rightly saying he needed to COMFORT her, the older don opted to subtly   THREATEN her instead. If she didnât follow through, then it would be treated as a   break in their alliance. And because of that, he would have all the reason he needed   to OBLITERATE the Giglio-Nero famiglia.
â   Hmmm? Are you sure you arenât eager for our marriage, Yuni-chan? You            donât have to worry, I wonât show too much affection in public. Weâre            respectable leaders, ne? And in any case, I think it might be best to keep            it from the public for a while. We can tell our famiglias right away, but I donât            see the point in making our engagement public knowledge. We have more            important things to focus on first.   â
A shudder rushed up her spine, tingling like a large spider behind her neck. There was no way she could back out of this arrangement without that subtle threat coming true. Already, a massacre played out in her mind's eye. Â Everyone she knew, innocent people unfortunate enough to get involved, would undoubtedly turn to piles of bloody, shredded meat, successfully painting the wedding red.Â
No she wouldn't let that happen. Even if this became a dead end, she would play it till the end.Â
"Yes." It was all Yuni could say for the moment. Soft and delicate was her voice, eyes staring past him and that nothing at all.Â
Blinking, she set that all aside and gave other bits of the conversation more thought. She was grateful he would wait, though it was only natural for her to worry if it would ever be enough time.Â
"I've never fully thought of myself as a bride, let alone and wife, before. I'll become used to the idea in time." She glanced up at him and gave him a nod, agreeing to his suggested wait time regarding their engagement. Gamma wasn't going to be very happy when he hears about this. It made her wonder what the other families would think.Â
Finally, the the brownie was remembered. Setting it aside, the young Sky stood. "I think I'll take your earlier offer to rest now. So much excitement has drained me."
