Svanna looked up at the monastery that had grown so familiar to her, the icy winds howling around her. It still seemed so intimidating, no matter how many times she visited - a lone building on the highest mountain in Skyrim.
She rubbed Allie’s - her horse - neck, before dismounting. “I don’t think I’ll ever get used to this cold.” She joked, her voice muffled by the cloth she had wrapped around her nose and mouth to prevent any wind burn. She was a Nord, yes, but she had spent her adolescent years away from Skyrim. The cold was unfamiliar to her. Allie snorted as if she was replying, before leaning down to munch on a lone patch of grass that had managed to grow in these harsh conditions.
Svanna made her way up the steps and opened the large doors, closing them behind her. She removed the cloth from her mouth, walking towards one of the torches to warm herself. She was about to walk away when she paused - hearing a voice she hadn’t heard before. There was no way it could be a Greybeard. It was feminine.
She frowned and walked further into the monastery, where she quickly halted, seeing a young woman she didn’t recognise. Weird, the Greybeards are so selective with who they speak to…
But…this woman was different. Svanna could sense it. Almost, familiarly different.
Svanna studied her closely for a moment, before standing taller. “I…don’t believe we’ve been formally introduced.” She said, sounding a little uncertain, but it was clear she was attempting to sound strong. “My name is Svanna. And you?”
another dragonborn, the greybeards were telling her. another one, just like her. perhaps it was foolish of her-- she didn’t even know what they were like yet-- but the fact that she wasn’t alone gave her an odd sense of...hope.
all the questions she had were quickly silenced by a sudden onset of the same sensation she got whenever a dragon was nearby. an lo, there she was-- a young woman, standing in the main hall of the monastery, looking right at her.
how odd it was, to recognize something in someone so unfamiliar.
still elyon smiled graciously when the younger woman spoke, and bowed her head in an introductory gesture. “indeed, we haven’t-- the greybeards were just telling me about you.” her smile was warm when she spoke, yet her eyes glimmered with excitement and fascination. another dragonborn!! perhaps it was selfish of her, but oh, how relieved she was to find that she wasn’t alone.
“it’s a pleasure to meet you-- i’m elyon, though you’re more than welcome to call me ely.” she motioned then towards the fire she was standing by before continuing. “you look cold-- please, come, warm yourself.”
