call it the honeymoon phase or whatever — whatever it was , jeongin and bibi were officially out of it.
they were friends for almost 7 years prior to getting into a relationship like everyone predicted , however she couldn’t understand it , why was it like this? why was nothing the same like before — like before they got into relationship , when they were just friends.
they had been busy since winning kingdom , and the comeback , things were super fast pacing , they were flying place to place ; working overtime to make sure everything was perfectly for every single performance , they didn’t have much time for each other in a relationship sense. they woke up practice , did interviews and photoshoots and other idol duties. by time she got back to the dorms and her head hit the pillow she was already asleep.
jeongin was more irritable , stress due to their sudden fast paced lifestyle. he was snappy sometimes , it often being directed at bibi since the time they did have to themselves they spent together — even though they couldn’t stand being around each other at that time.
“everyone’s on edge these days , you two have spent the last 6 years together , the honeymoon phase should’ve been over for you too.” changbin told him once when they were getting food. “i didn’t expect it to be like this though.” he said. “what do you not want to be with her?” the elder asked , it really made him think. “i do love her , she’s my best friend” and jeongin didn’t say i love you often. “but do you love her like a girlfriend?” changbin said leaving the boy with something to think about.
“he’s been your friend for years , you two have argued over much less.” felix and bibi sat in the dance room. “yeah but these arguments are for much much less , we could breath around each other and it’ll piss us off.” felix laughed thinking she was joking , and she wish she was. “some days i wished things were back to before.” she sighed. “do you not want to be with him?” he asked. “he’s my best friend.” she said. “of course , but do you want him to be your boyfriend?” he patted her shoulder. “you two will figure it out , i promise.” that didn’t help.
“that’s not where you end up.” she huffed jeongin bumped into her for the 3rd time. “yes it is.” he fought back , lee know looking in the mirror at the two. “jeongin you’re supposed to be over there with seungmin.” he corrected. “i told you.” she said. “you think you know everything.” he mumbled. “fucking annoying.” chan stepped in. “whoa , okay let’s calm down.” he’d seen them fight but this seemed different. “it was just a mistake bi don’t get too upset.” he turned to jeongin. “don’t get so angry about small things.”
they let it go , and practice continues on perfectly — until it’s not. “yah.” he huffed annoyed , everyone stopped — he hardly talked to the girl like. “yah?” she questioned. “what is your problem?” she asked. “i didn’t fuck it up you did.” her voice raised. “both of you calm down.” chan tried to interject. “you’re the one acting like you can’t dance.” they both ignored the elder. “we don’t have time for this.” hyunjins word fell on deaf ears. “i’m acting like i can’t dance? you’re supposed to be over there next to seungmin, yet you’re bitching in my face.” chan interrupted both of them with more authority in his voice. “both of you.” he said. “what the hell is going on with both of you? why are two acting like this right now.” he said. “everyone was so excited when you two got together , now it likes it’s been for the worst.”
the two could barely look each other in the eyes , looking down at the ground. “yeah , well we don’t have time for this , you two agreed it wouldn’t effect the group , it’s affecting the group so fix it.” he said , turning back around frustratedly , the room now awkward.
the ride home wasn’t any better , the both of them were still upset , but neither wanted to argue — they had been doing enough of that the last couple months. “what are we doing?” she asked once they walked into the dorm. “what are you talking about?” he said. “i’m not doing anything.” she scoffed. “yeah right.” he looked at her. “i don’t want argue anymore seulbi.” he called her by her first name , something he never did even when he was mad at her. that sealed the deal for her. “let’s break up.” she said , he looked at her. “what?”
“we clearly can’t be boyfriend and girlfriend , so let’s go back to being friends.” she said. “let’s end this.” he stared at her for a second. “friends?” she nodded. “it’s better for everyone , we won’t argue as much and the group won’t suffer.” her words suddenly hitting her , but she couldn’t take it back now. “fine.” he said. “let’s end this.” those words didn’t even sound right on his tongue but it’s what she wanted , and he didn’t want to argue anymore — especially not with her , he’d rather them not be angry at each other as bestfriends than angry all the time as a couple , not to mention if you broke up that would be end of your friendship and it would make the group awkward. “okay.” she said sealing the deal. “it’s for the best.”
she didn’t even give him a chance before she turned walking into the room , the door closing , leaving the dorm silent… both of them full of regret , but it was for the best.
