ofrorys:
rory snorted at the other boy’s story, twirling the straw around in her drink lazily. “he was a dumbass,” she agreed, nodding at him. rory leaned back against the leather cushion behind her. it was kind of hard to hear in this bar, but this guy was interesting, and she was not trying to mingle with the people-pleasers. “but i kind of get it,” she finishes, gaze fixed on a spot on the wall. “when you’re really in love like that… you do stupid shit. and real love like that never lasts long.” she stared for a moment before seemingly realizing what she said, and blinked. “um, what did he get it covered with?”
Slade chuckled under his breath at the woman’s comment. He believed in soulmates, but honestly? He didn’t know what true love looked like. All his past relationships had typically been toxic in more ways than one. “He actually got it covered with a nice little traditional pirate’s gun that I suggested. I’ve been wanting to ink it for a while now, so I was just as ecstatic as he was.” Wrapping his fingers around the cool mug in front of him, he brought it to his mouth. Taking a long swig, he quickly finished it off, leaving a mustache of beer foam on his upper lip.
