Honestly, props to Luca for this moment!! The lighting, the contrast, the setting, everything! There's so much skin in this scene, I'm a sucker for this much exposed skin tbh. Same goes for the "I don't want you to go" scene, if i wasn't watching the whole scene in the attic, I'd say they were naked. Which is something to think about: skin, nudity, the rawness, the exposed bodies, you can just feel the sexual tension and that vibe can turn a person on so much.
But here, in this particular picture, even though Oliver is cropped and we don't know the look on his face, Elio is looking up and so mesmerized by him, he took this moment to grab his hand with the same hand he was touching himself barely 10 seconds prior. The way they're holding hands were, OMG, the position is perfect for Elio to just pull Oliver towards him and start doing it right there and then. He's literally begging to be taken and taken hard, just look at those eyes, that skin, his voice is so beautiful in this scene...idk how Oliver managed to resist, damn. This is actually one of my favorite scenes in the book, page 24, when he's asking him to stay and take off his bathing suit, to let that hand travel where it wants to go, and also that he'd let him put as many fingers as he'd want inside of him, and if he won't do that, then he'd do it for him.
Tim/ Elio looks so perfect here, he's beautiful, he's young, he's curious, he's not actually repulsive of himself as much as some sexually confused teenagers would feel, they'd try to shake it off and deny it, but no, Elio wants him, he doesn't want to be confused, he wants Oliver so badly, he wants to scratch the itch Oliver has provided him with ever since they shook hands in the study room (or when he saw his picture on the application form).
And Armie's/ Oliver's posture here...I'm dying! The hands, the arms, the fingers, those fucking thighs, knees, his stomach, the way he's holding Tim's hand...This man is the reason why i watched CMBYN in the first place. I've been a fan of Armie's for years now, and I always got some gay vibes from him, and when i saw that he was starring in an LGBTQ movie, i was like "Yass, finally, something where he'll shine!!" And he did. He fucking shined the crap out it!!
A summary: this scene is perfection, the movie is a master piece, both Armie and Tim are breathtakingly beautiful here, and i wanna die from this many wonders at one place.✨
