I was too much & not enough at the same time.. & that will always fuck with me.
To be honest.. if more children were shown from birth that they are loved, cared for, and listened no matter their gender we might not have some of the problems we have now.
Parents: Aloof disdain! Shun! Distance!
Also Parents: Why doesn’t my child talk to me?
“There are days when anxiety makes you feel so kerosene drenched and flammable, that anything can be a trigger to a colossal fire within you. And you are still expected to go out into the world and continue as normal. As though everything around you is not a match. As though every other word will not set your mind aflame and leave you screaming because you are burning from inside, unable to breathe because of the cinders that are piling up in your lungs. And as you are burning, there are people around you, who instead of helping you fight the flames, are watching you burn, saying “Don’t you think you are overreacting?””
— Nikita Gill, How Does A Bad Day With Anxiety Feel?
“At the present time, I long only to sleep and to remain silent. I am sick of humanity.”

“Sometimes, I feel the past and the future pressing so hard on either side that there’s no room for the present at all.”
— Evelyn Waugh (born on this day in 1903)
“Learning to be okay without him is weird. I swear I’ll be fine for weeks, but one morning I’ll wake up and my heart feels heavy for no reason at all And I feel like I lost him all over again. It’s just hard, you know? Thinking you’re making all this progress only for it to be ruined when you see someone else brush their hair out of their eyes the same way he used to. One little thing, and bam- You start thinking that you’ll never be able to live without hearing his laugh ever again.”

“You probably deserve someone better but I swear no one wants to wake up to your face as much as I do.”

“I’m going to tell you something: thoughts are never honest. Emotions are. Do not go around asking for honesty in what people think; much of what they perceive as thinking is empty anyway because it’s thought out again and again and comes out refined and muddy. The ones who know how to feel might have to say to you a couple of interesting things or not and when they do that, you ought to know how to listen. So learn how to listen. You can’t make someone open up about their feelings in case they don’t want to. But you can remain open yourself through listening deeply and completely; they might want to talk about the weather and keep it simple — allow them to feel the simplicity…Emotion pours out directly or indirectly each time people engage themselves in the process of genuine interaction.”
— Albert Camus (via philosophyquotes)
