hey all! still getting this whole thing set up, but here's a quick little intro. I'm Ellie, They/Them, 19. Most of my Pokemon are psychic types, but I'm studying Psychic, Dark, and Ghost Types (ask me about them)!!

I'm mostly studying these types' ability to affect people through moves and abilities. I’m especially interested in how Pokémon can affect sleep and dreams, but it’s not my sole area of study. I’m also a bit of an amateur artist. Unova native, currently studying in Paldea!

can you selectively breed a pokemon to have a different type. like obviously it'd take thousand of years but that's sort of what regional variants are right? just naturally done.

someone who studies this answer me. i need to know if several thousand years from now there could be a psychic type tepig. and then if that's true i need to cry over not being born in such a time.

queestion. why do people always associate the 'team' moniker with like, flare and rocket and stuff (the evil ones) when there's also like, team mystic, valor, and instinct? i know they're all run by the same 'GO' organization and are really just a thing to get kids out and learning and exploring, but they're pretty global, so idk, why do people never think of stuff like them when they hear 'team?'

There's a hamburger holiday in Unova. It's to celebrate the opening of the hamburger mines under Opelucid and the children go to run amok in the mines for the day while all the adults grill and shoot fireworks. The fireworks are to scare off evil spirits for the remainder of the year.

Hey do you know if it's possible to use dream eater to eat nightmares or does it just work with good dreams? My girlfriend's been having a lot of them lately and her Gardevoir and I have been wondering if that might help.

It does work but not every Pokemon will like the taste; for some pokemon, like Musharna, it can make them sick.

You can try it, but if the Gardevoir expresses distaste or shows signs of sickness, then I'd advise stopping. There's hypno selectively bred for eating these kind of dreams, and I believe Pokemon like Gengar are actually more inclined to consume nightmares than pleasant dreams, so those are other potential pokemon to look into if the Gardevoir is unable to do the job.

This can mean either

You are oversleeping. Yes, that is a thing you can do.

You have some other underlying health issue, like an iron deficiency or thyroid issue. this can be either from a chronic issue, temporary issue, or a diet thing. Regardless, there are treatments for these things.

if proper sleep doesn't help, then the sleep isn't the issue.

honestly you don't even need to be fluffy to be worthy of being pet. sometimes I too need and deserve headpats i think.

the rules of taking on gyms in various regions is confusing.

in Unova you just go to a pokemon center/anywhere else with a P.C system and get a mark put on your trainer ID to indicate you're taking it on. it has to get renewed every few years to make sure you're still actively taking it on, but its super simple. might be a bit more to it if you're visiting from another region but idk the details.

and then Galar has this whole sign-up thing and there's an active period for the gym challenge, I think there might be a loss limit before you're out and have to try again next year? idk its confusing.

what are y'all's region's gym challenge rules? (and also people from galar feel free to correct me if im misunderstanding)

oh it's rad alright!!!!! the school is a HUGE dome !!! there's the Terarium, this big artificial region with 4 biomes in it!! the blueberry academy's battle centered as well!!! we even have our own elite 4, and i'm one of them!!!!
