The only light in the apartment comes from a small lamp near the door, its light dim orange. Yuri has to squint to be able to read the names printed on the few books in the bookshelf. He has never heard most of them (however, that doesn’t surprise him - Yuri is a slow reader, and his attention span is too short for anything over 10 pages). He runs his fingertips over the backs of the books and takes the last one out of the shelf.

Yuri has never read it, but he obviously knows the story - it’s a classic, after all. Yuri leaves through the book, reading a sentence here and another there. Finally he closes the book and, after making sure the man in the bedroom hasn’t woken up, slips the book in his bag.
