Though she really only speaks a tad less than the average person, it's difficult to tell given the quiet, slightly monotone manner in which Ren speaks. She is not quick to let others on to her thoughts or feelings, so it can be difficult to tell what's going on in her head, and sometimes, what she means by the things she says.

Even when she is not technically reading other people's thoughts, Ren tends to be skilled at figuring out how other people are feeling just by watching the way they act, and listening to what they have to say. She is very observant and aware of her surroundings, and has surprisingly good reflexes for somebody as frail and lethargic as herself.

When Ren sets her mind to a task, she becomes highly focused on completing it to the best of her ability. She's not stubborn per se, in the sense that her opinions can be swayed with some insistence, but she tends to be unwavering in her dedication to getting things done, and is very difficult to have her focus broken from doing so once she starts. She is also a very neat and orderly person, sometimes even bordering on neurotic.

Since birth, it has been quite clear that Renate was anything but a normal child. Aside from her impeccably strong telekinesis powers-- which she quickly preferred over using her real arms-- it appeared that Ren was endowed with incredibly enhanced extrasensory powers, even for a psychic type. Her move Future Sight, as it turns out, is both highly accurate and clear in nature. Following an incident in her native Aspertia City where she accidentally made a public spectacle of her powers, she became something of a local celebrity-- which unfortunately left the door open for people who saw the opportunity to take advantage of her ability to turn a profit.
Ren-- whose mother died in childbirth, and whose family of three was rather poor-- simply couldn't refuse when she was approached by a (human) talent agent, who promised to put an end to her family's financial woes in exchange for putting her seer abilities to 'good use'. From there, she became something of a famous cult icon among humans, giving both public and private readings, and honing a newly emerging ability to read minds** along the way.
Also around this time, Renate's health began to deteriorate. It became difficult for her to stand or walk for long periods of time without growing weak, causing her to resort to levitation most of the time. Her skin developed a pallor, and she developed chronic fatigue and narcoleptic tendencies, among other things. Eventually, she was able to tie it to increased usage of her abilities, discovering that the use of them in themselves temporarily detracted from her health-- and when used too often at a time, could even cause long-term damage. It wasn't long before she realized that her agents were literally willing to work her to death if it meant making money off of her talent, and it was then that she knew what she had to do.
Taking with her but a few of her own possessions, Ren skipped town the next day. It worked out pretty well at first, actually, until she discovered that her managers and followers were searching for her to bring her back to her old life, in which she would certainly die. From there, she realized that she would have to travel much further to get away from everything. She quickly decided on a distant island-- which was unknown and off limits to the humans whom she had grown to detest, and the climate of which might be beneficial to her ailing health-- and set off immediately. There, she began to offer her psychic services (in moderation) as an aspiring detective, for both law enforcement and as a private eye for hire.
she has normal arms inside those floppy jelly paw sleeve things. there's a little slit on the inside around wrist length where she can slip her hands out to do things that require manual dexterity (not telekinesis), if she's too lazy to take her whole coat off.
sometimes, it almost looks like her hair buns are.... twitching??? how mysterious......
Carries around a nice camera to take photos for her investigations. She fancies herself something of an amateur photographer, too, and sometimes can be caught trying to surreptitiously snap photos of landscapes or people.
Likes to make jokes to make people laugh from time to time, but her delivery is so utterly deadpan, sometimes it's difficult to tell that she's joking in the first place.
An average person would not be able to maneuver their arms very well in the weight of her coat, but reuniclus are known for their strong arms, so Ren gets around in it just fine.
The giant sleeves make great pillows when falling asleep at a moment's notice, though!

she has been told-- on more than one occassion-- that her Substitutes are more charming than she is. she tries not to take it personally.
she has a really, really cute giggly laugh that totally doesn't match her demeanor. somehow, this almost makes it creepy, too.
