Grand Opportunities Missed by the Official Omega Design

1) Child-like proportions and features, less like a scaled down adult

2) A missing tooth

3) Ten year old Daniel Logan’s pinchable cheeks

4a) Steady and inevitable progress to Baby Gremlin Mode visualized by Increasingly Messy Hair. She’s no longer held to rigid expectations by Nala Se and the Kaminoans. Would be cool to see her embrace her freedom and watch as her hapless brothers fail to keep her still long enough to comb her hair.

4b) Dark roots that grow a little bit more every episode. More visual metaphor for her growing into her own over the course of the show. Would be fun to lean into her hero worship of her brothers. Maybe she dyed it to look more like Rex, someone she may have read about and admired in Nala Se’s research and reports? Star struck Omega would have been far more cute and entertaining when Rex shows up. What would she do to try to impress him? How would he react? Would the Bad Batch get a little jealous?

I really wish I’d had more fun with TBB than I did. I think it speaks to the level of writing in TBB that the character I am most charmed by and invested in is a stuffed toy. 😬 But honestly the writing isn’t the worst part. I can get over bad writing, but Star Wars’ problems  with casual racism, ableism and a whole bunch of other isms are on full display in TBB. I think the most unsettling part of it was how hostile the fandom got towards its own members who dared to hold Disney and LucasFilm accountable.
