Inspired by a macro version of an enchanted forest, this art piece aims to bring wonder to the visitors. Digitally designed mushrooms were 3D printed and used to create reusable silicone molds to create dynamic mushrooms made from marbled concrete anchor back to a parametric ribbed wall
A concrete exploration using 3D printed molds with a goal to see how delicate, detailed, and finite concrete can get while still being structurally rigid. Ultimately, the focus was to create a piece of furniture that embodies an optimal balance of delicateness in form and strength in dentistry. Using 3D printing as a new way to realize concrete through its ability to make molds, we have been interested in pushing the concretes’ natural limitations through fine geometries.
In partnership with 02 Treehouse. the project was commissioned for a Glade commercial and Vaga Brothers travel blog. The end goal was to create a space that allowed one to be fully immersed in their surroundings when in the wilderness. This treehouse creates a 360° floor to ceiling panoramic
Slicelab was part of the Autodesk residency program at Pier 9 in San Francisco where their R&D was focused on additive manufacturing.
Slicelab took part in an artist and residency program at Autodesk, Pier 9 in San Francisco. Their design process and the making of their 3D printed jewelry lines that came from their exploration in suspended weightlessness are highlighted in this video.
