Blue was cozy in his bed, he had a long day testing new potions and tidying up his plantation. And there was no better time than now to sleep for who knows how many hours he wanted. But this would be another one of several nights that instead of sleeping, he would have to comfort someone.
He hears the door creaking, someone had opened it to the sounds of slow footsteps. Blue yawns slowly opening ther eyes and turning on the bed towards the door to see Ther friend Yellow, in which they were with one hand on the doorknob and a deep and almost empty gaze.
Blue blinks for a few seconds and rubs ther eyes while sitting on the soft surface of the bed. "Yellow, let me guess..." He pauses to look now at his friend's state, in which he rubbed one hand with the other nervously. "Nightmare?" He ends the question, Yellow just nods without saying anything. Blue sighs opening a sympathetic smile and snuggling a corner next to him for Yellow to sit down. "ok..." He pauses looking to the side and looks at his partner, "same as always..?" He questions, Yellow nods. Blue frowns and puts a hand on his friend's shoulder, a rosy color appears on Yellow's cheeks, Blue's smile was comforting to them. "Okay, do you want to talk about it or do you want to sleep?" He asks in a playful tone, the companion chuckles softly, "you're an idiot..." Yellow said with just a little more comfort. Blue could see the dark circles under his friend's eyes, they don't usually sleep, it's very rare for that to happen. Blue yawns and lays his head on the pillow making room for His partner. Yellow excites but lies down beside him, pulling their knees up to their stomachs.
Yellow tries to turn around but is surprised by Blue's hug. Yellow's cheeks turn pink with embarrassment, the Stickman they loved was hugging them. Yellow itself turns towards blue to meet their eyes, They always felt comfortable around blue, even though they knew about each other's feelings, they prefer to remain platonic but sometimes it's hard to resist the temptation to Cuddle them, From kissing them or just holding their gentle hands... "just sleep Yelly..." Blue says in a soft tone, stroking yellow's head as their foreheads meet their partner's chest. Yellow calmly closes his eyes, listening to his friend's heartbeat, a small smile forms on his face until he falls asleep. Blue sighs in relief still hugging them, he covers them with a blanket and affectionately kisses Yellow's forehead, "good night and have better dreams..." The next day, Blue would wake up first to take care of his little farm. Yellow woke up a few hours later already missing his friend's affection. They look out the bedroom window, seeing Blue picking wheat and carrots like he always does. They smile seeing this but soon his expression changes to one of guilt.
So they who chose not to hold on to a serious relationship, they who said to wait for the right moment, they were slowing this relationship down, it's keeping it on ice and not making the move. They love him! More than anything. And they know he loves them too! Why Yellow? Why did you have to go with the mindset that you weren't ready??
Yellow never cried, they don't show their emotions in an obvious way, and sometimes hide to maintain a persona of a logical genius, but their feelings can't be kept in a locked chest. One day he would take the relationship seriously, one day... But why not now? Why not tomorrow? Why... Are they... afraid? Afraid of... Not being good enough for blue...?
