SID: So I'm like, okay, let's go see the show. Due diligence, you know, show them I'm, you know, interested. I'm not just, you know, coming to just, you know, get a gig or whatever. And, uh, Clown was comin' off the stage on a song called "Tattered and Torn", which he…he starts the lyrics to that song. He says, 'Kill me', like really loud and guttural. And I guess he used to come off the stage during that song every time, and get in the pit with the kids, and would be like, you know, they would all try and wrestle with him or whatever, and he would wrap them up with the mic cord and drag them across the floor, and all this kind of stuff. So, he decided, I'm gonna show the new guy what's up. And I didn't know about this. I was just standing at the back, but I could see him starting to make his way out from behind the drums. And I'm like, 'I'm gonna go get him.' So, I just instinctively start running up there, and I'm leapfrogging people. So, like, like… MYRA: Jumping up like… SID: Yeah, like grabbing people's shoulders and like jumping over their heads and like crawling over people, and anything I can do to get up there before he can get off of the stage. So, just as he's getting ready to take his first step down off the stage, he looks up and I grab him. I'm there at the front. I grab him and I start headbutting him. I'm just like (repetitive headbutting motions)…headbutting him. Six times, oddly enough…his number, six. I'm comin' in for the seventh one, and he pushes me away. He falls down to his knees on the stage, and he like…he said I almost knocked him out. He was like… MYRA: Wait, so he was going to come for you? SID: He was going to come for me. I went for him. MYRA: And you sensed it. And so you were like, 'Actually, I'll show you crazy right now.' SID: Cuz he was looking at me from like…you know, he was like (growling) 'Kill me', you know, and I'm like, 'Oh, really?'.

Paul Gray on Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses)

"We threw the fuckin' Slipknot rulebook out the window, and just fuckin' kind of went, and did whatever we were feelin' you know, and uh so, there's a lot...there's songs that are heavier and faster than Iowa. There's songs that are more technical, and like you know, like shredder stuff. There's songs that are beautiful, like you know...I can't explain it...like heavy, like a Johnny Cash kind of vibe, you know, I mean there's different shit all over the place."

Paul Gray on side projects

PAUL: You know I did a couple of other…I think a band up in Minneapolis called FOR, with a couple of guys from American Head Charge, and we did an album. Toured with a band called Unida, which is a couple of guys from Kyuss. Actually I took over for uh, Scott Reeder, who used to be the bass player for Kyuss. He was a badass bass player, and big shoes to fill, but I went out there, you know. Arthur, their guitar player is one of my best friends, and he asked, you know, if I did that. Q: Was FOR directly released by Roadrunner? PAUL: It's not released yet. No, no, it's going to be released…it's a weird legal thing cos, uh, I'm on you know, Roadrunner, and the guys from American Head Charge were on a different label, so then it was like weird weird legal things, but now, now we've got those worked out so the album probably will come out after we're done touring on the Slipknot album, so probably next year sometime…a year and a half it will come out. You'll get to hear it, and it's pretty cool.
