HOLDING BACK THE YEARS by SIMPLY RED This song is the most sentimental song on this list. My Mother and Father danced to it at their wedding and both adored the song and the band. It's a song that throughout my upbringing was played more times than I could ever attempt to count and I whenever I hear just the first bar of the song, my whole world stops and it feels like it's just me, the music and a bucket load of memories. LATELY by STEVIE WONDER I don't know how anybody could not adore this song. It's such a beautifully heartbreaking song about being insecure in a relationship and having the feeling that you're not their one and only. His voice is one of my favourites anyway, and it just goes so perfectly with the story and emotion of the song. THATS ENTERTAINMENT by THE JAM This one I love so much because of the lyrics. There are lines that I don't think many people would ever have imagined to fit into a song, such as "Two lovers missing the tranquility of solitude" ... which is my favourite line... and I just think that it portrays such a bland lifestyle which we all hate to admit we have, and it's just so honest and I love it. SCAR TISSUE by RED HOT CHILLI PEPPERS This song is one of my favourites because it reminds me of when I first properly started to get into music and started to explore other genres. It was the summer time and now this song is always my favourite song to play during the summer. WHY DOES IT ALWAYS RAIN ON ME by TRAVIS Why does it always rain on me? That's what I seem to always ask myself (not with those specific words, though) because I seem to have the worst luck in the world and I don't understand why. I relate to this song. HIGH by THE LIGHTHOUSE FAMILY This one makes me think of one of my best friends, my brother. We used to sit in the backseat of our car when we were younger, on long journeys listening to this song on our Walkmans (remember those?) and I always remember us singing along to it without a care in the world. MOVE TOGETHER by JAMES BAY this one is a very recent addition to my list. I have a weird love for the darkness and winter and I always listen to this song whenever I drive home from work when it's late and dark and that's what I think about when I hear it. PACIFIER by CATFISH AND THE BOTTLEMEN this is also fairly recent, but it's just too good of a song not to include. it's a song that I will never tire of hearing and I can play it on repeat for days and I'll still love it as much as I did the first time I heard it. EVERYBODY'S CHANGING by KEANE This is a song I related to a lot during a period of my life where I felt so down and lonely all of the time. I'd lost a lot of my friends and I felt like everyone around me had changed and I didn't understand why or how it had happened. TEMPT YOU by NOTHING BUT THIEVES this is my favourite band, and this song is just too beautiful for words. whenever I need a come down or just need to relax I listen to this song and I am immediately at peace and all is right again.
