My first basketball game I saw on TV was KOBE bombing a 3 pointer to tie up the game in the finals vs ‘04 Pistons. Though they won that game in OT but lost the series, that level of grit, passion, and perseverance made a lasting impression on me. I became a fan ever since. But watching Kobe live was unbelievable. I vividly remember it felt like he was flowing while everyone else was crashing on the court. Kobe was just different. I love digesting every piece of knowledge about him. He’s one of the few players that exhibit extreme tactical and strategic prowess in how he approaches the game and life. Over the years, I tried to emulate this same focus. Clarity in Defining Loneliness
I posted something in the past that quotes “Loneliness does not come from having no one around you, but from being unable to communicate the things that matter to you.”
A simple message like this can provide profound clarity. Over the last couple of years, it seems the things that mattered to me changed. Of course, the core items are above all: family and friends. But, what’s after that?

What are some things that are ironic? Contradictory? Even paradoxical? I believe if you can identify these moments in life, you will appreciate the beauty of the nature of it. By nature, I mean how it ties to life itself.
Imagine a moment in your life when the harder to do to control something; the harder you try to tighten your hold on it, the less control you actually have. This example is at a person level, so how about something that’s universal?
Think about the endless universe and our existence in it as humans. I view the human consciousness in relation to being both insignificant AND significant at the same time. Think about that... We are so small compared the vastness of unexplored peril of the universe. That humbles you. However, at the same time, the fact that we even exist makes us extraordinary in a poetic sense. I define this as somewhat a paradox.
As you grow up in physical age, the wiser you become. Perhaps the wisest that you’ll ever be, your body would be way passed its prime. What’s that saying? Youth is wasted on the young? But what about wisdom? It’s wasted on the old, all they can do is to pass it down. You find that balance, you’ll see something special.
Is life a paradox? Life brought us existence into this world. But for what purpose? Nothing. That’s its true essence and nature. If it did have a meaning for us, then what’s the point if it’s decided for us? Life’s a paradox. We are life, but we don’t have a purpose except to just be. Sounds like such a waste, right?
But there’s beauty in its paradox. Without it, would you even consider calling it a life? Imagine if life really did have a purpose. If it had a purpose, then that must mean someone designed it as such. Perhaps, a God? Therefore, is such a life worth living? Can you even call it a life if it’s programmed for you? You’re just a passenger in a moving car going somewhere. Perhaps, that’s what we’re really are even without a purpose, just a passenger in a vehicle. Even if we’re the driver, we’re still passengers.

Why the hell didn’t I watch Studio Ghibli films sooner? Over the course of two weeks, I’ve watched Totoro, Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away and Nausicaa of the Valley of Wind. I find myself reconnected with the past I never lived.
These weren’t mere children's movies. Well maybe they are, but to fully understand Miyazaki’s message requires a more mature observation -- something I didn’t have as a child (OBVIOUSLY) or even in high school. After watching these films, I can’t stop thinking about the latest film.
I’m in love with Nausicaa right now. Out of the four films I watched, Nausicaa leaves the deepest emotional impression. This is magnified by the conclusion of the Naruto Shippuden series that recently aired.

Unwavering Cycle
Whenever I think about liminality, I instinctively think about regret. Without much thought, I intuitively think about a certain person in my life. And then I imagine what kind of person I should be that I think this certain person would adore. I think about being a person I could be proud of. This is such a dangerous behavior because I’m tying my self worth to what I think this person thinks of me. What the fuck right?
Over time, this mentality goes away. I’ve learned to distance myself from such damaging psyche. I feel...stable at the very least. Like an unforeseen wave, the thought of this person creeps up again. But this time, it isn’t the realization of how damaging my own ego is in relation. Rather, I feel peace whenever I think about this person. Hope, even...
And then, the cycle continues (read first paragraph again). Through my inaction, this cycle won’t change. My intentions don’t matter because my inaction doesn’t convey feelings. And now, certain life circumstances would complicate things even if I did act on it. Such is life.
