NOT UU!WIFIES. MORE INFO BELOW
Spoke and Cy stand outside Wifies's house, waiting for her come home. They had prepared a trap nearby, set to be triggered when Cy hits someone with her scythe. After a couple of hours of waiting, Wifies arrives home.
"Wifies, Wifies, Wifies... do you have anything to say for yourself?" he seems a bit more serious than usual, and slightly nervous based on his last encounter with Wifies.
@smallandsmallandunseen @cyliu-the-farmer
The elyta's wings pressed close against his back, eyes fixated on Spoke and a someone he didn't recognize.
Wifies opened his mouth to speak, stopping himself before any words came out—of course Planet would be the one to tell them, no one else knew where he lived, but he knew he couldn't be angry at him.
The one in front of him, on the other hand,
"What do you want, Spoke?" He unsheathed his sword, albeit not daring to move any closer. Seems he still wouldn't be able to rest even if he was home. "We closed our deal, I didn't touch your family at all."
Cyliu's mind continues to fight against itself Seeing Wifies answering the door, She knew there was no going back now, But She was surprised to hear the family threat was true, She was really hoping that was just a misunderstanding but it turned out to be true...
She held her Scythe not towards the player yet but to the side, Seemingly wondering if what she was doing was right, Would she still be the same person who swore not to kill? all those years ago?, Surely she wouldn't attack a random player for no reason right?,But why? why did she feel like she was backed into a corner?

"Wifies. You blackmailed me. Don't act all innocent. It's thanks to players like you that I have to uproot their lives and hide them away on the furthest reaches of the server." His tone was scathing, almost incredulous.
He sensed a bit of trepidation coming from Cy, so he gave her a look.
"Remember what he's done" he whispered to her, just out of earshot of Wifies.
She glared at him. "I've heard about the things you do. You're not innocent, either."
His eyes trailed to look at the person besides Spoke. Wifies wondered if it was someone from his family.
He can tell, however, that they would be the one doing Spoke's supposed job, and he can't help but start feeling uneasy at the thought of their scythe against his neck.
Wifies checked his inventory, even if he already knew—no fireworks left. They had to be fucking kidding him.
She stepped backwards, again looking at the two. He had to trust he would be able to get away from them.
@cyliu-the-farmer
Cyliu immediately hid her trepidation and Seemingly snapped into a completely different being hiding the empathetic side as she held her Scythe in her hands, Staring with lingering guilt as she lightly approached,
Her mind was spinning as She just made a slight approach to wifies at first, seemingly silent as she does, Her head Seemingly At war, She hopes Zam or anyone could forgive her for what she was about to do, before glancing at wifies then back to spoke
> An ghostly Australian shepherd watches from the Surroundings, Trying their best not to be noticed, They seem confused what Cy's doing [Kaya always watches over Cy </3 She won't really do anything but watch]

Wifies's comment about his own actions doesn't exactly catch him off guard. He gets that a lot. He certainly doesn't appreciate the reminder of his guilt, but he shows no response.
"You really shouldn't be antagonizing me right now, Wifies. I'll ask one more time, do you have anything to say for yourself?" he says in a slightly sing-songy voice. With the position of power he saw himself in, he was regaining his confidence.
He gave Cy a small nod, egging her on.
@smallandsmallandunseen
Wifies inmediately focused on the person as she came closer, dismissing whatever Spoke had said, his free hand grasping his shield and setting it forward to cover himself.
Breathe in, breathe out. He had to focus. His eyes do their best to not break contact, though they switch to look at the other's scythe constantly.
He takes the bunny's brief distraction to further move backwards.
@cyliu-the-farmer
> Cyliu Attempts to approach and slice at Wifies, Her scythe connecting with the shield As a warning?, She knew what she was doing, Especially right then, She needed Wifies to run towards the trap so She hopes the scythe making contact with the shield will make Wifies run, Her Braided Dandelion and White hair flow within the wind as she stares at Wifies blankly
> Kaya stares in fear from a tree nearby watching her former found family sister Actually try to attack an seemingly innocent player?!, How much had changed about Cyliu since her death?!, Why was Cy so fine with the violence against that wifies player?

@spokeisthere
Everything is finally going to plan, for the first time in a while. Spoke smiles. He's tempted to gloat a little, but he doesn't want to distract Cy.
Spoke considers for a bit how he'll help Cy. He locks eyes with Wifies for a second before bowing her from a distance, using a punch bow to push her towards the trap.
The scythe easily collided against his shield, not to his relief.
Wifies swung the sword at her, merely scratching somewhere across her arm. She could've definitely hit him beforehand, why hadn't she? What were they—
His eyes met with Spoke's. He attempted to move away from the arrow headed towards it—not quick enough; his sword drops on the ground and his body is pushed backwards as an intense pain nestled throughout his arm.
Wifies bit back a whine and ran.
@cyliu-the-farmer
> Cy took a second to try and check the scratch upon her arm, Before chasing Wifies towards the trap Her scythe in her other hand Her other arm was throbbing as she switched the scythe to the other, arm, She Needed Wifies to fall for the trap but the stinging sensation was getting to her head, It's likely she'd be uncoordinated for this fight, Her morals are telling her to just stop chasing Wifies But her Nature to please her ally attempts to over power those morals
> In her head she asks herself The true question was this fight really worth the risk to her friends and family, Should she try and kill Wifies and Break her moral code, Or should she betray spoke,As the fight went on She couldn't tell anymore There was a compelling hatred festering within her soul, This situation felt too familiar, Too much like the mafia days, When her and Kaya had to run for their lives, She knew she'd be considered no better than the mafia for this...So why? why was she obeying Spoke's order to Kill?
[Currently playing - The chase [Deltarune] ]
@spokeisthere
Spoke can sense Cyliu's trepidation. His smile drops as he realizes she might not actually go through with it, but he knows he has a backup plan. It's certainly less convenient, and it might cost him a good ally, but it is what it is. He holds his enderpearl in preparation; it would allow him to teleport so he can intervene in the action.
"Do it!" Spoke shouts to Cy as Wifies runs over the trap. He fidgets nervously, waiting to see what will happen.
@smallandsmallandunseen
Wifies ran as fast as he could, attempting to hold its injured arm close to himself. Every movement made the burning sensation worse. It almost felt like a dream.
The woman would definitely catch up, and he wished he could explode before either of them managed to get to him first—What a stupid thought. He was an idiot for having gotten into this.
Spoke yelled in the distance and he couldn't get himself to figure out what was said, his head only vaguely turning to the sound.
He halted in a heartbeat, legs clumsily spinning around, trying not to make him trip. Wifies raised his shield and bashed it against the assassin's head.
@cyliu-the-farmer
With the Bash to her head from the shield she stopped in her tracks a bit confused and disoriented She held her scythe, Hesitating to Slice Wifies, Their attempts to evade just continues to remind her of Kaya and Her trying to run from the mafia, She knew deep in her soul Kaya wouldn't approve of her trapping this player They had a life and friends on the server who'd likely Come back to haunt her for her actions
> Cy Holds her scythe More loose than before she can't bring herself to slice Wifies no matter how hard she tries, This task just... Keeps Causing her to fight her internal moral compass She hates Killing Why did she even agree to this ideal?, She knew That Killing Wifies or even hurting Wifies is just a great way to make more enemies than she needed
> Kaya watches from the trees nearby Her hands over her Mouth, Her eyes wide as she sees the scene play out
[Currently playing Mutiny [Epic the Musical] ]
@spokeisthere
Spoke sighs. He has to go through with the backup plan. He throws the enderpearl precisely, landing just to the right of Cy.
"I told you to do it." Spoke tries to sound intimidating, but in reality he sounds more like a petulant child whose playmates wouldn't do as he demanded.
Abruptly, the voidling grabs the scythe from Cy's insecure grasp. Before either of them can react, he slashes Wifies's arm, triggering the trap. As the ground opens up beneath Wifies, Spoke shoves her forward for good measure.
Spoke watches Wifies fall with a feverish smile.
@smallandsmallandunseen
She stumbled and yelped at the blinding hot pain in its arm, barely processing the noise under its feet—then Spoke pushed him, and he could swear his vision whited out the moment he hit the ground.
Its legs kick at the floor, scrambling away from where Spoke and the other were, at least until his back pressed against a wall.
They'd made a trap for him, and the anger in his chest was too far from him to grasp.
Wifies swallowed and held in its breath, if only for a moment, as its fingers shakily wrapped and added pressure onto its limp arm before he pushed himself up—too fast. She kept pressing her back against the wall, elytra wings spread out at an attempt for balance while his eyes illustrated stars around him for a couple seconds.
His left sleeve was a mix of dark reds and black between the usual purple. Wifies couldn't help but gag at the sight and the arrow still sticking out, bloodied hand relaxing and moving back to its side, although lightly touching the wall instead of it going limp.
She looked up at the duo.

What do you plan on doing with all the information y0u have gathered?
"I—..."
"That is none of your business, my investigation is for me and the people I decide to share it with; that doesn't include you."
His footsteps echoed through the empty place as he made his way in, careful of the—definitely explosion-made—holes in the floor.
Wifies slowed down to make the least noise as possible, even if the base seemed abandoned. Further up, the place was brighter, although it doesn't make him lower his guard.
The area on which he arrived seemed vastly empty except for something resembling a library in the middle, and behind himself a structure similar to a pyramid as decoration.
He made his way down a staircase to the middle of the main area of the base, then equipped a totem in his off-hand just to be secure as he walked towards the library, minding his steps for any possible traps.
...There was none. Wifies slightly relaxed before approaching one of the bookshelves and began looking through it.
// @junolovesthesun
< Jumper didn’t know why she was back here- maybe for some sick nostalgia trip, or maybe for some other reason lost to her.
She froze as she heard soft footsteps, quickly hiding behind the nearest bookcase.
‘Who else could be here? Derap? That ghost?’ She snuck around before catching a glance of who it was.
‘No- shit!’ She quickly stepped away, ‘Why him?? He was supposed to be far, far away from here!’ In her panic, she hit a bookshelf, the wood creaking and bending, a book clattering to the floor.
‘God, be any louder! I’m so dead…’ She quickly pulled out her sword and readied her shield. She wasn’t going down without a fight. >
Wifies tensed at the noise of something falling to the ground. He spun around frantically until his eyes met with the direction the noise came from: A bookshelf, specifically from its other side.
He shoved a bunch of books into his inventory before putting on his armor—which was more iron than diamond, he really was under-prepared—the fastest he could.
It didn't matter how loud he was anymore. Whoever was here had spotted him. If Wifies ran away, they would only chase after him, and the space was too empty to possibly hide before he made it to the exit of the area, if he made it.
"I know you're there," She unsheathed her sword and prepared his shield, although remained where he stood instead of going towards the person.
< She stepped out, her sword out and her shield covering her even more, leaving only her eyes and up exposed. >
“Why are you here?”
< ‘Stay out of my past’ >
"Information," he responded, "which you have."
Wifies didn't cover himself as much as the other does, seemingly more prepared to attack.
He still took a few steps away from her.
"Are you apart of a group? Why do you have such specific books on people?"
< ‘Of course they’re going on the offensive.’ She wanted to step back- to run away even- but she refused to show weakness. >
“And why should I tell you?”
< She spat out the word “you,” putting as much malice into it as she could. Jumper’s wrist shook slightly before tightening her grip on her sword. >
"I'm already here. If you don't tell me, I will find out myself." His tone remained as calm as he could possibly control it, although his somewhat shaking legs still gave him away.
The stranger hadn't attacked yet, weirdly enough. The mercifulness was appreciated, but he was not going to let up on this so easily.
Wifies quickly rearranged a couple items in his inventory before setting a single foot forward. "I wasn't sent by anyone. I don't even know who you are. You can choose whether to believe me or not, but I can tell neither of us wants to fight. We can talk."
< ‘She just wants to manipulate me.’ She fought the urge to step back, forcing herself to stay in place as she adjusted her grip on her sword. ‘But I guess if I know what they’ll do, I’m more prepared.’ Jumper knew that wasn’t true, but she didn’t have another choice. >
“‘Talk?’ Sure. We can talk.”
< Wifies was right, Jumper didn’t want to fight. She didn’t want to talk either, but she was worried Wifies might have something to use against her, and she wasn’t about to risk it. Jumper didn’t lower her sword, she just watched Wifies closely, checking to make sure she wasn’t planning to surprise her. >
He fully stepped forwards, eyes set on the woman. Something about the way she hesitated, even if just for a heartbeat.
Not that Wifies himself wasn't, but it didn't make sense. She didn't make any sense to him.
He lowered his sword, his grasp on it still tight... "Tell me about the last time we saw each other."
< She laughed, a mix of bitterness and shock. >
“You forgot? It was that- that normal for you?”
< Jumper was less defensive now, her growing anger taking precedence. She leaned forward, almost taking a step before catching herself. >
“I can’t believe you were revived. Out of everyone.”
Revived? Wifies covered himself with the shield.
"I didn't forget. It wasn't something I did." How bad had the other one fucked up? "If you know people can get revived in this server, then this should get through your head: I am not who you think I am. I'm not him."
His head slightly turned to the left, although his eyes stayed on the stranger. She had to notice. "'I' didn't get 'revived wrong'. I'm not the Wifies who did what you're thinking of.
I would get nothing out of lying to you, whoever you are."
< She was about to reply before she paused to think. ‘Of course, there is stuff to gain from lying, but…’ She looked over what little she could see of his face, and noted the sincerity and genuine confusion. As she quickly glanced over him, she noticed their ears… as far as she could remember, Wifies’ ears had been mostly upright and black, but this person's ears were brown and floppy. That doesn’t just happen… he’s telling me the truth. She lowered her sword, although she stayed slightly on edge, just in case. >
“We can talk.”
He sheathed his sword and lowered his shield, fully facing the woman again. "Glad you understand.
Please, answer the questions I'd asked you," Wifies hesitated, then added, "and then I'll do the same for you. Does that sound fair?"
< She sighed as she sheathed her sword as well, her shield still in her off-hand. She paused, considering the deal. >
“…Alright.
“A group? Not… anymore. But I used to be on a team called the ‘Bounty Assassin Team’ or ‘BAT.’ It was a group of mainly bounty hunters, assassins, and spies. These books are collections of information gathered by our spies if we ever needed to use it.”
< Now she was able to ask all the questions she’d thought of. >
“If you’re not Wifies… who are you? And why do you look just like him? Why are you here?”
She let out a hum in response to her, then took in a breath.
"Both the Wifies you know and I are copies," he began, briefly avoiding eye contact with her. "He arrived to the server for unrelated reasons, I came to investigate it, given the things like reviving players, as you mentioned, in a hardcore server—
but I haven't been around as long as he has, so I wasn't aware of anything about B.A.T, or you, which...What even happened between you two?" His head tilted.
< ‘Copies…? That would explain the ears, then.’ She lowered her shield, thinking in silence for a second. ‘What happened?’ She thought back to that… place. She wasn’t fully sure how much she trusted them yet. After a pause, she glanced off to the side. >
“It’s… a long story.”
Wifies huffed, "...Alright. I won't disclose any information you give me, as long as you don't disclose any of what I told you."
His hand curled up into a fist for a moment before relaxing again. She seemed mildly annoyed.
"So the books in here are about your targets, correct? Is the information in them outdated? Is the work you do for the king?"
< Jumper thought for a second before nodding. ‘It’s not a bad deal’ >
“Alright. That should work.”
“You’re correct, these books held all the information our spies could gather on our targets, but the information here hasn’t been updated in months.”
< She thought about the last question, carefully considering her answer. Her hand subconsciously playing with the handle of her sword >
“Not for Parrot, no, but we used to provide Lettuce with… help sometimes.”
So the books were less useful than he initially thought. Wifies's gaze moved away, eyebrows furrowed in thought.
He looked back at Jumper after a moment. He had heard of Lettuce before at least once, but that wasn't important at the moment.
"I see. Well, I believe information might be our shared ground. You mentioned not having a team anymore, so allies could be of use to you right now."
Wifies walked closer to her. If she's to react negatively, he'd give her space. "You collect information for your duties, I collect information for my investigation; I give you what may be useful to you, and you, to me.
I'm not a fighter, so I cannot offer that to you, but I may still be able to help in other ways, as long as you can do the same...What may I call you?"
< ‘Allies…?’ She considered it. She could use some allies. After all, how many did she really have? Spoke? He was a wild card, he could switch at any moment. She wasn’t on bad terms with Parrot, but she wasn’t exactly his friend. >
< She tensed as he stepped forward, her hand instinctively twitching towards her sword before she relaxed. ‘This isn't the same Wifies’ she reminded herself. >
< It wasn’t a bad deal, if she was being honest. She needed information and he needed information. As much as she hated to admit it, most of her spies were gone and she wasn’t nearly as knowledgeable anymore. This certainly wouldn’t fix it for sure, but it was definitely better than nothing. >
“Deal.”
< She held out her hand. >
“And call me Jumper.”
He held her hand and lightly shook it before letting go.
"Jumper," Wifies echoed, "Nice to meet you. Sorry for breaking into your place, it won't happen again...Do you want your books back?"
Wifies cautiously approached them, almost like a lost puppy.
"Kenadian?" She spoke up hesitatingly.

(not anymore—no. no, absolutely not.)
soooo, how've you been? it's actually been a while. so long; too long even.
She for once doesn't boil with anger at what most likely is someone taking her for the other Wifies, instead she's riddled with a sensation in its stomach she can almost pinpoint as dread.
Why did Wifies know him? He'd never once seen them in the server, and yet it felt like she had seen the prison-maker's face a hundred times.
He let out a soft breath he didn't realize he'd kept in while he'd waited for Kenadian to finish greeting her. Wifies smiled at him.
"Don't worry." Would Kenadian know? Were the two of them pretending, at this point? "I've been doing fine. When even was the last time we saw each other?" His head tilted.
(ken's guts roll. insanity, he thinks. total, anarchistic fucking insanity, takes half a step forward, stills. the inexplicable reaction of recognition from wifies—well, at least it has to be, because there's no other explanation—has her fixing her jaw, clenching it, trying to hold it down—keep at bay the dozens of ideas, thoughts and pleas that push at her mind like a noise that's been turned up.)
(she's going crazy. ken, kenadian takes a deep breath, sighs. the imitation of a relaxed pose really shows off how good they are at lying. everything matters. they can't stop their eyes from wandering, however.)
oh, good! good, yeah, i'm glad. we—me and wato—'ve been doing okay as well, sort of. as well as you can be in the end dimension. pretty, but not worth it. i think... probably district 13, actually. damn. mafia times.
(he pulls a face, like offering something. maybe faux-familiarity for her to latch on. kenadian isn't quite sure why, but still.)
(he does it.)
Wifies's eyes never once leave the other. They take in every detail of hers, trying to count down memories. He needed to know, he always had to.
Still, he couldn't shake off the feeling he had since first seeing them. It almost made her want to get away from him, but she was no coward.
"That is a long time," she hummed.
The second name doesn't sound familar at all, despite it clearly being someone closer to Kenadian.
Wato, kind of a silly name.
"The End Dimension is pretty. I went there a while ago, but there's nothing much interesting besides the main island. What did you two go there for?"
(kenadian's taking before managing to register the way his heartbeat picks up, the way his nerves—already frazzled and out of sorts all weekend—jolt to attention like a warning as he opens his mouth to explain.)
oh, wato had an idea that maybe the seed unstable is using had some connection to the zero world. yknow, a pretty popular urban legend with like, tons of end gateways somewhere that lead to different worlds and all that, so we just went exploring.

but we, kinda just came back empty handed. how about you? what have you been up to?
("parrot tells me—")
(no. they can't bring that up. it's not wifies but it's not not wifies. ken feels sick. kenadian lifts his hand up to his face, rests his chin on his palm. the familiarity during the split second when the shadow of their arm covered half of their face can barely be brushed off as pure coincidence.)
"...I see." That's not how it worked. Wifies didn't know the specifics, but traversing through worlds in the End was impossible. It made sense she and her friend didn't find anything.
She didn't try to argue, it distracted him from more important thoughts.
"At least you tried?" She attempted to comfort.
Wifies is reminded of the pit in her stomach. She disliked the way the cat made her feel, and she hated the way the two tiptoed across a thin line as they talked. It almost made him want put Kenadian into a box and wait until he either gave every answer or rotted inside. But, really, would that even make her feel better?
He watched the way the cat readjusted themselves, paid more attention to it than she should've, yet took no notes. "Not much at the moment."
Wifies continued after a heartbeat, "There's been a lot going on with the kingdom, though. I assume you were away at the End during that, so you wouldn't know."
(like a flower folding into itself. not quite withering, no—ken isn't a shell of who she once was. his petals wrap tightly around each other like they were never open at all.)

(the frustrated sense of failure, of collective tenseness and exasperation is heavy.)
...ah, yeah, i talked to parrot, but he didn't tell me much. something about a war. wiiii—fies. are you gonna tell meeee? =^w^=
(do you know me like that still? do you know my thirst for knowledge? do you know me at all?)
(lying like this will destroy you.)
Wifies could see itself through big, dark pupils.
He knew enough about cats to know it was a warning. Maybe anyone else wouldn't have noticed it, given how people in the server were.
She wasn't sure its legs could move right now even if he wanted. The two of them were stuck in the box, but at least she remembered something.
He had to admit it was funny.
"The kingdom's at war against a faction called Cindercrest. A lot of people have been discontent after Parrot fixed Spawn, so I think that's one of the main issues besides Parrot failing to regulate other problems in the server. Saparata and him are currently at each other's throats."
He hummed, enough to create a pause yet not enough time for them to reply.
"My turn." The urge had eaten at its stomach, an ugly sensation settling inside of it. If Wifies said Kenadian didn't unsettle her, she would be lying.
What else was she supposed to do, though? It was everything. She had no blame.
"Tell me about the factory."
oh, that's—yeah, i mean. i know he's your friend but i dunno if parrot's cut out to be...

It took him a second, but its legs finally got themselves to move and she sprinted after the cat, as fast as they could get the clone to move.
Fast enough to catch up to them, if he was fortunate.
"KENADIAN! " She barked, and to its eyes only existed the running figure in front of them. She didn't care what happened, she needed her. She needed the information.
Wifies pulled out her elytra and equipped it on her back in less than seconds before propelling herself closer to Kenadian. He grabbed at the hood of their jacket and pulled them back.
(oh, oh oh oh no. kenadian's dragged back with a hiss. she doesn't quite know what to do in this situation but to run and she can't even do that.)

His grip readjusted on her hood, free hand closing into a fist for a couple seconds before letting it relax.
She had enough time to stay and discuss. Breathe in, breathe out.
"Okay. We can talk about something else, then. What is the Wifies you know like? How did you two meet?" He tries to meet her eyes, fingers clinging onto the cloth tightly enough his knuckles were white, but he doesn't notice.

"Hi Egg."

" hello, "
"Was able to pass by to visit." Wifies settled Eggchan's books she had borrowed on one of the tables. "Uh, hope I wasn't interrupting anything. How have you been?"
" wifies!" Eggchan smiled "it's nice to see you again, Ive been doing good. What about you?" Egg heard the thud as wifies placed down the heavy books "so that's where those went..." Eggchan mumbled "anyways. Any new stories?.. Discoveries?"
She smiled back, "Glad you've been doing alright. I've been the same."
Wifies walked closer to him, paused once Egg continued speaking. She hesitated for just a second.
"Yeah. I've written a bit if you're, uh, interested." He opened his inventory then held out a book. "I remember you said you wanted to read whatever I wrote. It has some information on recent events in the server, sorry it's not much."
Egg smiled once he hears that wifies has been doing well "oh that's good to hear " He nodded before noticing she hesitated just for a second he wanted to ask her about but..- "I've written a bit if you're, interested" oh?
"how much have you written? I'm interested " egg took the book wifies was offering and smiled at the much width the book had "this is alot of pages.." he flipped through scanning each page quickly "I'll get to reading once I'm not busy... " Egg placed it on his desk
"would you like something to drink? Ofcourse if you'd want to stay any long. " Egg asked as he was thirsty himself
"Quite a bit," she responded, then let out a glad hum as Egg skimmed through his book. "That's fine. I had fun reading yours, even if it took me a while to get through all of them."
Wifies's eyes trailed Eggchan as he moved around, her tail wagging lightly. "I couldn't stay last time, as you wanted, so I figured I should stay around longer today. And, yes, I would like a drink. What do you have?"
Eggchan perked up at her answer " hm.. let me check" he told her before heading to the kitchen and checking the chests "... Uhm, colored water.. and tea, what would you like?" Egg asked casually "sorry about the.. lack.. of.. choices.. I just don't have any plans to extend my selection of drinks . " He paused before adding on "but personally, Id choose tea since its the only other drink that doesn't look like it'll poison you" he commented while grabbing bottle labeled 'tea'
"would you want some?" Eggchan offered to wifies "also if your going to question why I bought that... it's because it was on sale, and I didn't want the drink to go to waste...so now it rotting in my chests.."
Her eyes squinted.
"Right. Don't worry." Asking hadn't even crossed her mind. Getting an excuse did not confuse Wifies any less about this 'colored water' or the man's choices in general, but it was best to not instigate. "I'll have the tea, thanks."
She glanced around the area. Perhaps she should go rest at her own house after this.
"Anything interesting happen to you lately?"
Wifies cautiously approached them, almost like a lost puppy.
"Kenadian?" She spoke up hesitatingly.

(oh! she recognizes that voice. ken perks up, turns his head to face wifies with a wide smile.)
hey, w—
(their words get stuck in their throat. he pauses. ken's not sure what he's waiting for, looking for, staring at wifies-not-wifies. no. it distinctly is wifies. same face, same hair, same voice, same same same and also different. but not. she can't quite pinpoint what's wrong until her eyes drift to his ears and—)
...wifies! uh, sorry. i think i haven't seen you in a bit so my eyes are playing tricks on me.
(and that must be it. insanity. some kind of insanity, somehow. her mind is a muddle of confusion, of oddities and unfamiliarity and she's sure she's lost it, isn't certain how or even how to explain it to anyone, put it into words without making herself sound even crazier than she feels. wifies is a different breed, but that's stupid. he can't just do that, and there are no wifies-lookalikes.)
(she says this matter-of-factly, like wifies is supposed to know. that seems wrong. kenadian isn't supposed to talk like that. isn't supposed to explain things as if the viewer already knew—er, wifies already knew.)
but we, kinda just came back empty handed. how about you? what have you been up to?
(like a flower folding into itself. not quite withering, no—ken isn't a shell of who she once was. his petals wrap tightly around each other like they were never open at all.)
ah-ha. it was mostly wato who wanted to explore aaanyway, and we had fun with it, so i have nothing to complain about! ♪
(kenadian gives her another once over, stares at wifies with dilated pupils. their entire face is blank like they're studying him, trying to figure him out just by looking. but there is nothing. nothing of the like for a long while, nothing all the way to when they look away.)
"Hi Egg."
