09.09.19 // went to a used-book store over the weekend and i’m so mad that i haven’t discovered such a place earlier because it was. amazing! so many books!! i picked up “traveler’s guide to the ancient world: ancient greece” and spent a good part of the weekend reading it. as someone who’s been fascinated with ancient greece since a kid, this (and assassin’s creed odyssey lol) is the next best thing to time-traveling and visiting ancient athens in person.

i went to see this a second time with some friends when this part happened. the entire theater was in a stunned silence and usually theaters are quiet to ensure a pleasant experience but this when the movie had been out a long time, there weren’t that many people, and throughout the movie there had always been people talking or laughing or cheering during all the scenes but in this scene there was silence and then someone starting clapping and everyone started clapping. this part was just that good.

I bet they are excited to see a rich, white guy talk about how we need to be okay with giving away our freedoms for security. He’d get along great with all the people who created the Patriot Act.
