A Long Overdue Update

So for the... very few people who follow this writing blog, I thought I should make some sort of update on my progress with the extra scenes and the sequel.

The truth is... it’s not going so well. I’ve got some serious writer’s block with these characters specifically, it’s driving me ‘round the bend. Every time I think I’ve got a handle on them I have no idea what to write. I have not abandoned this little series, but I can’t say exactly when it’ll be updated again.

It doesn’t help that when moving computers I lost all my information on the story playlist (which was going to be the first thing I posted up after finishing the story...)

So yeah, sorry about this, I’ll try and get back to it as soon as I can.

In answer to a comment on the fic

Yes, Johnny's still injured - most of the worst damage is actually from before Loki even knew her, and it's all pretty much permanent, sadly :( I'm so mean to my girl. As for how bad it is, well... She just about can stand without a cane/something to lean against, but not for very long, and she probably couldn't take more than a few steps like that without it hurting a lot. But when she isn't putting weight on them/when she has something to lean against, it actually doesn't hurt that much, unless she's having a bad day, so if she has her cane or something to lean against she can walk just fine. And yeah, she does have a cane, though it isn't really mentioned this chapter - in chapter 18 Loki promised he'd get her one, after all, are you doubting his word?

Honestly I haven't put a huge amount of thought into what level of injuries she has (I can get sort of lazy with my fanfic, oops), but I know most of the bones in her legs are at least a little crooked from being broken and not healed properly several times. She might have some nerve damage, too, and there are places where broken off bits of bone are pressing against the skin, which probably looks a lot worse than it actually is.

So yes, Johnny is disabled and will continue to be so throughout this fic and the sequel. I just hope my attitude towards writing that isn't too lazy - my attitude towards the exact details of how she's hurt is lazy, my attitude towards how it influences her character isn't, I hope!

So it's looking like I've got all the chapters split up now and I won't have to add any more, though some are still in need of some pretty serious revisions - but final chapter count is sitting at 27.

Seems like so many to go yet but I bet it'll breeze by. So I guess it's good I finally started a bit of work on the sequel, huh?

To reiterate my author's note from that chapter, though, people should totally tell me what things they want to see out of the one-shot stories. I've already got a few planned, but more is better, yes?

By the way, the one-shots will be collectively titled 'Petty Theft and White Lies', just like this blog, because hah, those are crimes that are small. *rolls eyes*

Seriously, in the same vein as the last couple of reblogs, my biggest regret with this fic is that I never actually got to write Frigga.

Some days (today) I just want to write an offshoot where she and Johnny actually got to meet in the present day. I feel like they would have had a lot to talk about...
