for @aaronminyarddefencenet‘s 2nd week of the first creation event (favorite minor character), as well as @actuallyaghostthanks i wanna talk about my favorite german boy
listen. homeboy grew up where all the best german stereotypes come from: bavaria (munich, specifically)
he’s worn lederhosen. while eating a pretzel. and drinking a giant beer. it’s his facebook profile picture.
his first experience drinking was out with his older sister when he was 14 and he was so nervous that the waiter knew he wasn’t sixteen that he threw back the after-meal schnapps like a shot and some of it shot out his nose when he coughed
bvb dortmund can kiss. his. ASS.
he had a pretty bad knee injury when he was 17 so now he has to wear a brace when he works out
he’s only seen the 4th harry potter movie and voldemort creeped him out so much he refuses to see another
he’s got a planner, and nice stationary and pens, and he tries so hard to be organized but he always ends up forgetting deadlines and writing things all over his arms instead
p.s. he was diagnosed with adhd when was 12
loves marzipan with his entire soul everyone else in his family hates it which is fine with hiim bc he hoards marzipan filled chocolates like his life depends on it
he chipped his tooth wrestling his sister for advent chocolate and that’s how he spent friday the 13th at the doctor and refuses to believe that day isnt Cursed™
btw his sister’s name is stefanie and she’s three years older than him she’s a computer scientist and a bartender and taught nicky tricks so he could get work fast when he moved back to take care of the twins
his dad’s an art teacher and his mom works for a finance company. his dad is the son of turkish immigrants so along with the catholic stuff from his mom he grew up hearing about how is dad grew up muslim, despite being atheist now.
he LOVES american rap music. especially 90s stuff like N.W.A. and tupac and ice cube. being mixed and the stigmas around turkish immigrants in south germany, he can connect to feeling targeted by society in the way those artists wrote about (plus it really helped him in learning english).
he practiced for weeks to come out to his parents but when he actually did it, he threw the plan to the wind cried to them about how he didn’t feel normal, and they spent hours hugging on the living room floor and talking. stefanie had already known and did a lot of the talking for him since he got so upset. his parents are super supportive and his mother cut her parents off completely for saying erik was “ungodly” and suggesting he see a therapist about his “”’condition”””
the rest of his extended family is totally on his side. his cousins took him to his first pride celebration up in hamburg a year after he came out since it was around his birthday (he claims it’s his best birthday until he comes home from holiday and meets nicky)
he was always that kid you had to have an eye out for at all times on field trips or outings since he had a tendency to wander off in search of something more interesting that whatever the tour guide was droning on about
“employees only” signs mean absolutely nothing to him
long story short our boy erik is a really clumsy chaotic nerd and i’d die for him
